  1. Ok. What would you run in your 89 option/radio wise and what would the price be?
  2. What would the correct radio be for an 89 (Sportruck, if it matters)? My grandmas want to buy me stuff for Christmas.

Probably, until there is a malfunction. And that is a when, not an if.

Don't start me on autos, blind spot detection BS, or backup cameras. I can wheel my MJ around way more efficiently (forward or backwards in a paved parking lot) than my girlfriend can wheel her little Mazda POS (don't tell her I said that LOL) with an auto and a backup camera. They are crutches that do not help. If you can't back the vehicle up without a backup camera, you shouldn't be driving that vehicle. I say the same thing about trailers. These new trucks have the trailer backup assist. If you can't back it up, you shouldn't be towing it.

Here's the part that gets me: its a brand new Jeep (with coil springs on all 4 corners) and they ride worse than my MJ and barely get better fuel mileage. My parents have a 2017 JKU. I'm not a huge fan of it.

Yes, but I would go so far as to say any Wrangler newer than 2007 is a lifestyle vehicle. Look at the Duck Duck Jeep trend. It's dumb.
  7. If you want more confusion, it is commonly believed that 2wd leaf springs make the truck sit 1" lower than 4wd leaf springs. If I were you, I would look for 5-5.5" lift springs. Having the extra bit of rake is nice if you plan on putting anything in the bed (before my add a leaf, when my truck sat level, I could make my truck squat about 1" just by getting in the bed. I weigh 120 lbs)

Check this out! I have my doubts, but it would be cool. https://www.atlismotorvehicles.com/dually
  9. Yes. It really depends on how worn out your rear leaf springs are. Also, it is relatively easy to add/remove springs if you don't like the height. And MJs sit a little higher in the back, so you could have a lift that is an inch taller in the front and the rear will still probably be higher.
  10. @krustyballer16 makes stiffeners I think. He also makes roll bar brackets, seat brackets, and rock sliders.
  11. The D30 should be fine. My dad as a V8 5 speed YJ on 35s with a D30 front and haven't had an issue yet.
  12. Pretty much everything doors forward is the same as a 4 door XJ. The floorpans are a little bit different, by XJ pans can be modified to fit pretty well. My build thread is in my signature and I did a driver side door, rocker, and floor if you have any questions. Be sure to check out the frame where the leaf spring bolts in in the front. That is a common place for rust.

  14. Hey @eaglescout526, don’t you have some? Are yours stock?
  15. I'm guessing these didn't sell very well when new, but a junkyard or checking with any of the parts hoarders on here.
  16. Can't go wrong at that price! Be sure to check the floors for rust.
  17. Why did you make the slider flare out in the rear under the bed? It looks nice, I'm just trying to understand why it was done.
  18. How has this truck been doing? Any updates?
  19. Hey @Pete M, could you please move this to the other tech where more people will be checking for questions like this?

Green HO Metric Ton with a 5 speed and a topper.
  21. Looks great! Congrats! How long till its full?
  22. I wouldn't install one in my truck. If anything happened and the clutch went out, you could at least move the truck with the starter. Not the best idea, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
