The Jeep homestead
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Pool grows algae, get chlorine levels right. Chlorine levels drop off, and filter still rots. Shock the pool. Pool shapes up. Pool turns green. Remove chlorine tablets. Watch pool slowly get worse. Roommate strikes an idea to use clarifier. Pool is back to normal woot woot! Gotta love chemistry. Also while replacing the hose on Little Red the laundry room door just came off the hinges due to the previous owners running the evap cooler religiously and it warped all the damn doors in the house and the laundry room door got the worst of it so now I have to replace that. Yay. Oh and the girlfriend got a new shower head for me to swap in. Yay…. Also I keep dragging parts to the house and I’m either running out of room or parts aren’t selling fast enough lol. -
Gotta love 30+ year old coolant hoses. One from the heater valve to the intake manifold sprung a pinhole leak. So I had to go dig my original hose from the T-stat to the heater valve out and swap the hoses only to find out that I could’ve moved the clamp a little past the hole and stop the leak. That’s how long the nipple is on the intake manifold. Anywho! Back to working on the house and Chunk.

Not the original dealer for Chunk but it’s a good piece of home for my girlfriend. Plus Chunk lived in WA most of his life anyways. Will get my MJ one soon. -

I will have to snap a pic of old tail gate but it says Ellis Ford on it in very faded letters. -

Can’t wait to see a revival on this one.

Common issue. Check your vac hardlines to and from the vac reservoir behind the bumper. They rot easily.

Tail light bulb sockets.

83502744- Reverse socket(3 left as NOS). doesnt seem to pull much on the internet but one day I would like to do the more modern sockets where they twist into the lamp and plug into the harness. I found a socket that fits the upper two lamps J8128931- Brake lamp. This one actually comes up everywhere on the internet. Could always use this one and make a plug on your harness and a plug on the end of this socket so future socket replacement is a bit easier. -
I believe it is a Pilot. Yeah it’s crazy how compact our MJs are compared to modern vehicles.

Thanks!! Not sure how I missed your post! I still haven’t done much to it yet but I have my electrolysis up and running so I can de-rust the mounts so I can weld them up. Also got a fantastic view at the Olive Garden:

Yeah I’m having a hard time finding it. Moving my parts to the new house has been a metric ton of fun.

From my understanding from the FSM, the tach reads pulses sent from the coil from when it fires. -
I would estimate the inventory to be a million in parts.

Looks like Bob and Julie are retiring at AMC. They have posted the whole lot and shop up for sale. I genuinely hope they find someone who will keep the yard open and alive for the Jeepers like us.

Welp. Got a new garage door on order to replace this antique wood door, goin the whole 9 yards with hardware and 3/4 horse motor with fancy extras. Also I’m now in the moving parts over phase so I’m slowly decorating/stuffing my storage room full while trying to separate what parts are for Chunk and what’s is spares and for sale. Also I am loving the door into the house: More to come as always! P.S. that is Little Reds original grill. -
What’s crazy is it is luxury as hell and Chrysler is going all out with it. All out in an AMC kinda way. I think it needs more hood and grill styling with woodgrain and it would be a good revival.
