Please be patient. I am aware of the list of VINs I need to do. Life has been busy, I will be getting to them this evening.

I mean the interior pieces that are now potato chips might but otherwise I don’t plan on it.

So I’m learning things about this car. It’s got the 403 olds engine in it, sadly not the 400 Pontiac but it still ought to be a fun car regardless. But just like our MJs, it has specific parts. Sure you can find the air cleaner lid all damn day for the 70-76 400 and maybe the 77-78 but the 79 403 air cleaner lid is an odd diameter and is engine specific. Yay. I probably am gonna have to buy a 14” lid and kinda suffer knowing it’s not original. I might repair the original lid but that might be challenging to do.

Renix Cruise Control Kits
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
First two kits have rolled out. Please comment on the feeler thread if youre not interested anymore and your name is on this list. I will be knocking out more kits hopefully this weekend. Thank you all for your business and patience! -
I redact my statement. Upon further investigation it’s a 35, just the pixels mess with the axle shape to where it could be mistaken for a 44.
-
I had to zoom in on my phone but it’s a 44.
-
How do you take the bed but not the 44.
-
Yeah that’s an understatement and a half hahah. I just added the two new bolts and we are back to normal baby!! Now I can put my attention back to the other two.

Help me identify shocks, rear leafs
eaglescout526 replied to Gojira94's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Possibly not then. Those could be skyjacker shocks. -
Looks like an early 87 model. So it’s got a higher chance of having a D44. If you look closely, the wood grain is faded haha.

Help me identify shocks, rear leafs

Those shocks look factory. Can you locate any other stamping on it? -
Not much of an update. She’s been a happy camper driving around until I got bandit running and driving. Now by complete coincidence is when I started having idle issues when bandit was driving and filled little red up with gas. I’ve been spending a few days tearing my hair out. I know I have a vac leak and cyl 3 isn’t firing well. Remove the wire and it remains the same. So I replaced the wire and the plug and no change. Even changed the cap and cleaned the rotor, no change. I also had thoughts of a bad head gasket and valve seals were failed or even push rods for that cylinder failed, luckily the latter two aren’t it. So I decided to just take my lunch and go examine my vac lines once more and see what’s loose. I then give up, look down for some loose manifold bolts and lo and behold! I am missing two bolts. Both bottom intake bolts and I can hear the vac leak coming from intake port 3. So I’m gonna fix that tonight with hopes of a change.

I watched this guy last night when I could t sleep. Kinda bothered me a little.

Pressure washed the car. I think I removed all the factory earth hahaha. A lot of the underside dirt probably has been removed. It’s hard to tell, but I have a lot to figure out what I want to tackle next. I’m waiting on new metal choke tubes and I’ll be installing flood lights where I’ll be working on the car. So far I see only one spot of body damage and that’s on the pass side rear quarter by the exhaust.

Don’t waste your time. The tanks are plastic. Your better off using the original or getting a crown one which are made out of all metal like the original.

Turn Signal not flashing, staying solid
eaglescout526 replied to kimmelsa's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do you still have the stock sockets? If so we recommend replacing them with the 84-86/91-96 style XJ sockets. The Renix era ford sockets suck and have a ground tab that fails 9/10 times. -
