Key Parts full taillights

I think the SJ community is in line for reproduction bumpers first. You can’t get front or rears new for the SJ. I’m sure J-truck guys would kill for a rear bumper that isn’t something for a C10 -
Reproduction rear window gasket

Or the rear door vent window on the XJ. -
Thanks! I got my work cut out for me this weekend.

The cross iron is a spare someone had. The tire iron and the handle get strapped in the same spot and the handle portion of the handle gets clipped to a metal piece that sticks out. I found that metal clip in a spot y’all would never guess. Under the upper panel on the rear of the XJ holding the washer hose to the ceiling.

Rear door is assembled, rear bottom seat and associated panel pieces are in. I’m getting closer to having the interior assembled and having fuel injection next in line. I found the wire associated with the fuel pump to power the pump with the Renix harness, my next trick will be finding a wire to plug into the connector and finding a vacant spot in the C100 to put that into and then wiring it up to the relay for the Renix engine harness. It surprises me still that AMC didn’t offer this as a DIY or dealer kit back in 86, it’s pretty simple and I can see there being good money there to really make your early XJ worth it back in the day…but I digress the idea. Also since I have the back panel off I will be adding the power lock for there. I originally wasn’t going to but since the panel had to come off for the lamp switch on the latch to make sure it was working, I might as well go full power doors now. -
Intermittent wipers not working

It would be the two connectors you connected together that plug into the module. -

Yes and as long as no air gets past, it will hold vacuum. -
Reproduction rear window gasket

If you need one to mold from, I have my original and possibly a spare laying around I can send along. I’m sure there is a market for them, but there’s a bigger market for doing the body moldings. -

Yeah the servo sometimes called the solenoid and the dump valve is the valve that’s installed at the brake pedal. -

Bolt them in place. Makes future removing so much easier. Plus the later ones from Chrysler are bolt in too if you find OEM ones in a junk yard. -
Power Locks, Lock works, unlock doesn't

Ok. I have the clips on the way. It’s a limited number and the last ones around that I have. -

Blowing into the hose works too. -
Cruise Control issue
eaglescout526 replied to Whitaker717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes. The goal is to make it completely vacuumed and when you push on the brakes, that valve dumps all the vacuum and stops cruise control until you resume operation. -
It should work fine on the short bed too.

Fuel tank skid. It’s the trimming from the long bed skid.

How to Improve Power Windows
eaglescout526 replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I might have to use that when my XJ gets power windows. But the XJ/MJ era is awful for electrical. If you measure the voltage for the power locks and windows, you’ll see the voltage drop off from where it gets 12v to the motors and not to mention the grounds. I was lucky enough to get all my locks working without the modification to relays but as the harnesses age, so does the resistance. -
How to Improve Power Windows

You’ll have to make your own addition to the harness for the relays. Unless your harness has the relays for the keyless entry, you can use those for the windows. -

Drivers side door and pass rear door panel is finally on. After waiting a month for new door felts I feel major progress is coming along. I was a working on the rear door yesterday and I got the top screw for the divider bar out as that was easy. But the main torx holding it to the door was pretty much stuck and i don't know why. So I stripped it and welded a bolt to it. Bolt worked until it broke. Ok crap. So I hit a point when installing the new felts that I needed to remove the bar and so a pair of vice grips and 20 min of cranking the old bolt out and it came out. I have no idea what is wrong or why the bolt was so tight to come out, even a new bolt is still tight but there’s no rust except what I saw on the old bolt. Oh well. I also figured out how to take the front door felt for the window that rolls down and adapt it to fit the fixed window and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Some light trimming and it looks pretty factory and not goofy. Hopefully I’ll have the door reassembled soon and I can close the door on the middle section of the XJ interior and move on to the rear section.
