Luckily I still had Chunks assembly with the broken threads laying around. Spent 30min separating both handles, swapped the retainer rings over and now were back in business....but for how long is the question.

Yes but when stuff is properly adjusted, the idle will shoot up to 1200 rpm which is a good balanced idle but too much for the 2.5L. won't do anything. The ECU operates from the EEPROM and doesnt store any codes. Have you tried adjusting the ISA yet?

Yes the ones that mount the manifold to the block are common issues if they haven’t been torqued to specs.

So the heads and valve covers are painted. Trying to get them to come out how I want them to come out and I think wind was a little bit of my factor today but they are smooth which is what I want mostly. Working on getting the radiator core out, that is tons of fun and looks like I have to get the fascia off just to more the core out so it should be easy out once the fascia is off. Then the water pump will be next following a new core. Also the radiator needs some service. Gonna get some vinegar and let it sit in the radiator until no more rust colored water comes out. It looks like it is the original radiator as it is made out of brass. Lots of progress to look forward to.

NP228/9 are the same. The 9 internal viscous coupling that was found on SJ's but ultimately is the same as the 228. Thats the only difference. As far as what it was found behind, its AMC gents, it was more than likely found behind both auto and manual. I will be putting in a 229 in Chunk.

And here we are. Installed and ready to go. The holes for the cargo lamps almost lined up, so I cut them some more and used the cargo lamp to cover my wrongly placed hole thats an inch off from where it actually is supposed to be. I learned I am not precise for crap but thats ok. Also got the drivers side kick panel on after getting new wiring connector clips that clip to the metal shield so the kick panel can be installed, that was a pain but its worse without the clips trying to shove all that wiring back. Up front dome lamp is the map light dome lamp combo, really neat and effective. Got the NOS pass vanity visor installed, I havent decided if I want to located a fabric visor for the drivers side yet as now I have both a vinyl and cloth visor haha. But its for the wife. Has a broken mirror which is how I got it a lot cheaper than the dealer had it listed for so not much harm there. I have a visor or two with good mirrors that should work.

I'm working on this. I just need to get my butt in gear and figure out what style terminals are used on the cruise control module plug so I am not splicing wires to go to the cluster for the engagement light. But there isn’t a light either but there’s empty spots on the cluster.

We could probably work something out. I’ll have to start taking measurements of the rear harness and make sure it’s not gonna be splice central with the wire I have.

Did anyone notice the plugs? The MJ factory lamps use both top and middle lamps as brakes, turn signal and running lamps. Which should be three wires for both lamps. One ground, one power for turn and brakes and one for the running lamps. The middle one on these only has two wires which makes me wonder, is the top grounding out the middle as well to cut a slight cost but use a different connector vs having its own ground?

Wait. What if we just took a full door seal, cut it up and used the factory plastic rivets to rivet it in place and have a better full seal? Or even double sided tape like the later ones. I mean we don’t exactly have to use the original style that the factory got as its clear we aren’t finding anything remotely like the old part and nothing else in the Chrysler family uses this part.

Yup! all the connectors are available still. I think the main connector is a metri 280/150 combo.

Well with these new lamps on the horizon and seeing they require cutting up an already rare harness, how many would be interested in a harness that would be a direct plug n play with both the lamps and factory harness? I have some pieces left over from when I was going to make trailer harnesses in place of 88mjsally but someone else is making them faster. I can tell yall right now, colors won't match factory as I will be using what wiring I have(I will label what is what when I make and send as each harness will be uniquely different). I absolutely don't mind making a couple one offs here and there. Oracle I am not trying to undermine you or your business at all, I am just providing and alternative to those who wish to not hack up their harness to adapt your LEDs to work on their MJ.
