ghetdjc320 replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
unfortunately no... I have to sell it before we go. I’ll make sure it goes to a good buyer here on island. If i ship to Micronesia it will die there. Lack of parts and lost o salt air with rain. I’ve never seen machinery reclaimed faster by nature than Micronesia. -
Source files for DIY projects
ghetdjc320 replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
if you want to do that then that’s fine by me. I’ll be moving to Micronesia soon and will be unable to do anything with these projects which is why I made them open source. I only ask that no one tries to profit from them. You can easily change the symbols on the switch covers to whatever you need. Just keep the placement the same you you can have the glow through effect from the backlighting -

You also need the vinyl to be applied directly to the overlay. Otherwise it will be too opaque. Paper just doesn’t have the color saturation like vinyl does -

These are vector traced files that will keep precise dimensions if printed properly. For splash guards, you could use these as a template or just have a my flap manufacturer cut these for you -
Hello all, As some of you already know, I've been compiling source files to recreate various parts that are out of production. I had planned to bring these into production but am not able to. These files represent a lot of time and effort. I also went through literally hundreds of samples of films that can be used for the switch trim covers to provide the most original texture and finish. there are other source files that we can add here for various other parts that can't be found anymore. If you have any additional files you would like to add I please post it and I will add it to this original post for easy reference. That way we only ever need to read the first post. This is not meant to be a write-up either, only a source for the files. The film you need for the overlay of the dash bezels is Solyx-1002. You can purchase it here: https://www.decorativefilm.com/solyx-sx-1002-clear-sand-blast You can get samples for about $.50/ea which are 5x7. A sample is enough to do two switch trim panels. I would recommend they be done in pairs since there will be slightly more "sheen" than the OEM product. I have not found another product that replicated the OEM finish better but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If you find something you prefer, please let me know. You will need to have the switch trim covers printed in black and white vinyl and reverse printed to the front is the adhesive part. You will then apply it to the back of the film. You will need to use a very light blue arcyrlic paint over the symbols if you would like the glow to be green like the original. . I agree he should finish it and then sell it.

Everyone wants to buy low and sell high. Not sure why people are gawking at prices though. The market is driving up MJ prices in general and THAT’S A GOOD THING If you own one. Most of these trucks are 30+ years old and long past depreciation. Plus they are semi rare and many have unfortunately been destroyed over the years. As for this mj, it probably took a lot of money to get it to where it is. Sometimes people just get fed up with their projects and need to try to recoup some of their investment. Just my $.02

I like the sound of glass packs on a 4.0 but have never installed them on my Jeeps. I’ve had a pair of magnaflows and a Gibson MWA. The Gibson sounded the best. The magnaflow is pretty subdued but still sounds good. I run a JBA TJ headpipe that wraps around the front of the oil pan. All mandrel bent tubing 2 1/4 all the way through

The stud welder and slide hammer will probably work the best. I used the Eastwood kit with my mig welder

A/C whats the difference?
ghetdjc320 replied to ftpiercecracker1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I made a small bracket and mounted my dryer to the ac compressor bracket. Here is the ac switch I used: https://nostalgicac.com/oil-flush-refrigerant-switches/ac-pressure-switch/female-binary-with-inline-switch-port.html no need to try to over think every detail. These systems are not complicated and since your getting your own lines made, there really isn’t any need to worry about equipment placing matching oem. Also, I used the universal ac hose kit from Jeepair.com and just had everything crimped by my local ac shop -

The evaporator and condenser we referenced along with the oem dryer and a 709 compressor took 1.2lbs and works perfectly at that amount for my system -

Thanks @Minuit for the clarification. That is the condenser part number I used too -
Strange to see @carolinajeepman hasn’t responded yet. I believe he had some black/chrome versions also. Send him a PM. You can find his info in the vendors section also.

Jump on rock auto and grab an expansion valve and evaporator for a 91 xj. You can’t hardly find the tube and fin design anymore -

ghetdjc320 replied to ftpiercecracker1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Old style is tube and fin. Plate and fin is a newer design and provides more surface area for better cooling. Everything else is for my 91MJ. Fittings aren’t really a big deal since your making your own lines anyways. -
@carolinajeepman makes some that look oem too if you need some.
