If there isn’t a small hole in the bar below the light I’d make one. Run a smaller single wire and fish it from the top down. Use that as a pull wire

I know many of you have installed aftermarket seats in you trucks but most of that info is in the builds section. I’d like to put out a pic and tech information request to any who have done seat swaps with new aftermarket seats. Not looking at any junkyard seat swaps, only new seats. If all you have time for is a quick pic of your install that’s fine. If you can provide any more details like fitment issues, and installation that would be very helpful as well. Thanks

I use painless powerbraid along with the self vulcanizing tape at all the harness junctions. I use temflex on the wiring itself before the brade. Also use heat shrink whenever possible to seal the braid at the ends. Sometime connectors prevent that.

Good info, thanks for that. Those unit bearing changeover years seem to confuse everyone. Wilwood could really update their info also but I doubt they are aware of the issues. I installed a new set of spicer ball joints which are listed basically for every XJ, YJ and TJ and they came with the inserts that go into the knuckles lower ball joint hole. Was surprised to see them. It sounds like the lower ball joint insert for the pre 90 knuckles needs to be adjusted with that spanner socket to fit the ball joints better on the 90+ axles… i know your supposed to adjust them to a depth of .206 when running the old knuckles on the newer axles if you go with a diy big brake setup. Wonder what the purpose of that is

That’s perfect! Pricey, but perfect. I highly doubt it ships for $20 though lol. Now if I could only get my marketplace to work…

Lund visor repops
ghetdjc320 replied to frankspeed420's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
@frankspeed420 Any chance you could offer shipping to MX? There are a few on the MJ Facebook group over there looking for these visors -
Should be a 4.0 with what looks like an Eaton M90 supercharger (could be an m62, hard time tell). There are supercharger kits available for our 4.0 MJ’s at boostedtech.com

catalytic converters problems ?
ghetdjc320 replied to Swampthing's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Try hitting the catalytic converter with the side of your hand. If it sounds like a bunch of debris rattles around inside than it’s quite possible. A lot of oem cats used a ceramic honeycomb that could break up over time and could restrict flow. I’ve always swapped to a spun stainless cat when I have to replace it. But some states don’t allow aftermarket cats I believe (but I’ve never lived in one that was like that). -
What bumper is this
ghetdjc320 replied to World of jeeps's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Looks a bit like a home brew to me. Maybe an older diy JCR kit? -
From what I’ve gathered in the last, the difference is in the bearing design but not in the shoulder height. Something like one is a roller design and another is a tapered roller design. It would be helpful if Wilwood would specify which one is needed but it sounds like maybe bothering pre and post 99 will work. The only thing that needs to be used is the 84-89 HP D30 knuckles because they had a bolt on caliper vs the floating caliper with the brake pad “wings” of later years. They show the knuckle as just 87-89 but that’s not correct. All the different unit bearings fit that knuckle though. If the above two unit bearings work with the Wilwood kit then I just wonder about the 99+ unit bearings. They also have slightly longer wheel studs

Any pics? Some of the dash, b pillar and door panels would be good

Yeah that works. What’s the size of the skid and what zip is it in? I can figure out shipping

1991 Eliminator Resto-Mod
ghetdjc320 replied to ghetdjc320's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Yeah I’m not looking forward to it. The PO did a lot of patch work. I have a plasma cutter now though to slice that panel out and get rid of the spot welds.l -
I snagged a pair of them nos but didn’t figure they would run out so quick. If anyone really needs some let me know.
-
That’s a tcase skid. What would you want for it shipped to 90746?
-
It says that marketplace isn’t available to me. What skid is it? Any details?
-
I could possibly repop the brackets if no one else is planning on doing them. Will take about 6 weeks but have a plasma setup on the way. Exciting new products to come lol
