  2. There’s a guy that makes it, it’s just a whole lot more expensive. I’ll have to ask my buddy who makes it. He had an 80 till he blew it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I’ve been in possession of a lot of parts, but I have a guy who buys pretty much everything I pull because I don’t really like dealing with the whole posting and selling of most things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I’ve used one of those that was just a regular 1/4 drive body, no swivel and they are great. I just don’t have the cash for that stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I plan to grab a ratchet or two before the sale runs out, but I’m not sure what size I’d like to get. I have my long handled gear wrench 1/4 and 3/8 drive ratchets, and a pair of craftsman 1/4 and 3/8 drive regular length ratchets. I don’t know if I want to replace the craftsman ratchets or get stubby ratchets which I don’t currently have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think this is the most I’ve been in possession of at any given time. I only have the set in my truck and a spare set now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I probably should have done red with the reverse for the oval and the a 2.5” amber as it was not on back order when I placed my order, but I thought I would like the turn in the oval better. Oh well we’re here now and it looks good so far. Hopefully the lights hold up well and I can focus on other things. Found the ad for the lights I ended up running. Next on the list is relocating the CB antenna as the mount shared the tail light bolt before and this armor gets in the way. I have an idea of what I want to do and I think it’ll turn out pretty nifty. Just need to get the time to actually do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I keep everything tightly strapped down in my Cherokee. I added some beefy tie downs to secure the spare tire and axle shafts because I know what can happen when things become projectiles. I’d like to put a guard on it, but haven’t found anything that fits well yet. Apparently this sub is on the larger side of 8” subs. Also, the strip is the turn signal. The open holes are reverse lights I’m waiting on. If I could do it again I would go with a different brand with more generic cut outs. There is only one place I can find the 2.5” flange mount round light required for the circle in the back of the armor which they say you can install either turn signal or reverse lights in. I opted for turn signal built into the oval and 2.5” reverse lights. Another company I’ve seen uses flush mount pods for their reverse lights and I feel that would be a much better option, but it’s too late now. It looks good and I’ll work, just more frustration than I was expecting trying to find what I wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Added some quarter panel armor and a sub yesterday Still waiting on the reverse lights which are on back order. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. One is a Cherokee 8.25 that is under my Comanche, one is a d30 that is under a friends s10, one is a Toyota 4Runner rear axle that is under another friends 4Runner, one is a Toyota 4Runner rear axle under a Toyota pickup I got for a guy on marketplace, one was bent, but I cut it out and the 3rd ended up in my buddy’s 4th gen 4Runner when he blew his up. 11. Lucky for me every yard has allowed a reciprocating saw and I don’t own a cordless grinder so I’ve been fine so far! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Unfortunately big yards won’t let you have grinders, but still allow reciprocating saws. At least around here is what I’ve noticed. I guess sparks are an issue or something. Anywho, I have cut many axles out. So much easier than trying to undo rusty or hard to get to bolts. Recently I switched from ryobi to dewalt. The deciding factor for me was the 1/2 impact. The dewalt 1/2 impact has so much more power than the ryobi does and I didn’t want 2 sets of batteries and chargers so I sold off my ryobi stuff and bought a dewalt 4 piece xr kit. I love tools of all kinds and could probably talk all day about what tools I do and don’t like and what’s worked best when. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah it was cheaper to buy the calipers from the junkyard and use them as cores than to just pay the core charge when I did my swap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Well I had noticed a clunk and I had my girlfriend rock the wheel back and forth and the TRE on the trackbar is bad. No big deal, easy fix. Well I feel up on the back side and the nut is about rusted off so this is going to turn into a fun project. I can’t seem to find the track bar bracket online so I guess I’ll have to pull one from a junkyard or some how get the rusted nub off the top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ordered parts not really thinking and I have most of a 95 Cherokee AC system because I converted to r134a when I did the motor swap. Well I decided to order an evaporator core and expansion valve for a 95 so I could finish it off. Now I’m starting to wonder if it will fit in my hvac box or if I’ll need to get one out of a 95 or if this whole thing isn’t going to work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Well the heater core started leaking so that’s enjoyable. I also feel a little silly. I have noticed a lot of my Comanche seemed to not have any fuses. Well all that mess of wire under the starter relay is actually a lot of fusible links. I think this summer I’ll probably swap in a late model Comanche fuse box and wire all that up to it and make it a lot cleaner/ nicer looking. The hard part is finding out what the equivalent fuse for each link. Also, since putting it all back together she’s been starting flawlessly. There is a lot of wiring in this truck that seems it could be improved/fixed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’ve found one set of Cherokee tow hooks in all my years of looking. Been to every yard I know of around here. Also, how much do you charge for storage haha I’d love to have room to pull stuff I don’t need. I guess I’d need some spare change to spend on it as well. Oh that’s right and time to go pull it. Oh well I’m still happy wandering around and grabbing small things that I find cool or interesting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for ruining the fun buzz kill.. just kidding, I guess I can grab 4 doors of handles and give two Comanches a lovely set of handles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I guess I can go take these handles off and find out if they’re the same or not. I like doing science experiments. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. This is a yard that is small and they keep things for at least a few months before they get gone, maybe more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I have also found some that seem to be in good condition. I didn’t pull them as I didn’t know if anyone would want them and I don’t like having a heap of parts around. If there’s interest I can pull them next time in at that yard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I seem to remember buying a whole pre bled system for fairly cheap. Came with the master, line and slave and just bolted right in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Found some very nice chrome handles if anyone wants some, and this cool grill on a car. Actually metal slats.
  24. The Comanche motor with a mild cam and just the “best” of the 4.0 combo (HO head, renix block, 99+ intake). The goal was a little kick, but still super simple and super reliable. I would recommend that, I don’t know if I’d recommend a stroker yet. Still up in the air on that. I used the comp cam SK68-115-4 kit in my Comanche and I’ve had 10,000 trouble free miles (at least cam related, had some Renix electrical stuff but that’s to be expected). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I had the machine work done at Dover cylinder head and I put it together. Used the clegg stage 1 stroker with stage 1 cam. I’m not super thrilled with the performance. There’s definitely more power, but I feel like there’s something that’s not quite right. Everyone says their strokers scream and make tons of power and mine seems marginally better than the 4.0 with a blown headgasket and 200k. My Comanche has a HO head, 99+ intake, volvo injectors, and comp cam and it seems like it boogies a whole lot better. It’s also comparing apples to oranges since my Cherokee is lifted, 35s, cage, auto, and weighs 4800 lbs and my Comanche is 2wd stick shift stock height street tires.
