  1. You could just build my new bed for me and then fix mine.... :D
  2. There are a couple of places at the Cliff's you can drop in over your hood when its wet....
  3. 3.55's and 33's are pretty much sucky.. and I live where its relatively flat.. If we had many hills at all.. That combo would REALLY suck.
  4. Umm... no.... Its not a good deal. Rob's truck is in REALLY good shape.
  5. Where that mark is.. he isn't in danger of hydro locking the motor. Even the opening in the stock intake is higher than that. You have to be careful when entering water to make sure that you aren't going to submerge the engine. Most likely you are shorting out something. Take a look at your block ground. It might be loose, and you lose connection, causing the engine to stall.
  6. Thanks for being honest enough to post that. I know personally if I ordered a lift from you and received RC parts for the front I would be PISSED that I hadn't know that up front.
  7. I was looking at the local LKQ's website and in the picture of the front of it, there is a lifted white XJ with a bunch of ladders strapped to the roof in the parking lot.
  8. The ONLY reason I want the Dodgers to win is so that Jim Thome gets another chance. Lidge is still around melting down in the big games??? Thought he was toast after the '05 series. It could be worse... Selig could be like Obama... already named to the HoF without ever doing a damn thing...ever...
  9. That's the plan. That way, I can put the parts up there as I dissassemble. I am just worried about cutting rafters... I have 16" on center, and the rough opening for the pull down stairs is 22.5" by 55"... I all-of-a-sudden had a bug up my butt to insulate, drywall, and seal the garage floor before I start the MJ. So far, I have over half of the exterior walls insulated, and will move on to drywall once I am done with those. I am waiting on the attic ladder before I insulate and floor the attic. Rob L. Its not really hard.. you just have to create a box frame for the stairs and make sure to attach it well to the other joists.
  10. Woo-hoo......The annual drag race down Lake Shore Drive... Not a place for you if your 4x4 is not able to do 65-70mph...
  11. Do the CJ-4 oils still contain the necessary additives or have they been removed? I know the CJ-4 specification removed a lot of the additives to prevent clogging the DPF. Willy At this moment.. the answer is maybe.... In an internal memo from last Janurary Shell had stated that Rotella would be reformulated to meet the newer "clean" diesel applications. Also they have stated that stricter enviromental standards would force all of their lubricant line to be reformulated. But there was no timeline as to when that would happen. And there has not been any message to their retailers as to a change. Yes, this change has already been made. That is what the CJ-4 specification is, the reformulated standard for the new clean diesels with DPFs that use ULS diesel. They removed many of the additives that were beneficial to prior diesel engines to prevent clogging the DPFs. Now it is almost impossible to find any left over CI-4 oils. I had read quite a while back that Valvoline was supposed to produce their old CI-4 formula as their "Classic" oil, but I have yet to find anywhere that actually carries this if it even exists. I not sure that this answers my question. I was specifically wondering if the any of the additives they removed for the CJ-4 specification were what was beneficial to gas engines. Does anybody know if they removed the ZDDP additives for the CJ-4 specification? Willy The two main differences in the certification documents I could find were that CJ-4 oils have a maximum limit of 400 ppm of sulfur and 1200 ppm of phosphorous, where the CI-4 oils were allowed 500 ppm of sulfur and 1400ppm of phosphorous. This would stand to reason as these are the two elements most associated with the clogging of the converters in gasoline engines. I would think the same would happen with the new DPFs. *edited my typo.. makes HUGE difference*
  12. After talking to Rob last night I am seriously considering building a bed for my MJ... I kinda like the old J truck thriftside beds... My wife suggested caging the entire bed so I can put seats for the kids back there.. Or maybe build one like a wildland fire truck... Its your fault and no my current one wouldn't pass your test for beds... its starting to get holes in places...

  15. In the situation of the outside of the building...Its their property, unless specifically stated in the property rental agreement the owner retains the control over the outside of the building and its physical characteristics. Now items inside the apartment, but not visible from the outside are not the same as items visible from the outside. If an item(like the one poster in the article) is clearly visible from the outside then the situation becomes more muddy. My Dad had a renter that like to hang white supremacist propaganda on his unit when a non-Caucasian family lived in that building. He sued after being evicted over it. The judge ruled that Dad was justified as this items were clearly visible from the common areas of the building and they were specifically intended to upset the community at large. What you have on your vehicle while on their property is going to be the question. They do have the right to prevent you from doing anything that detracts from the value or quality of their property. Such as having a big pile of parts or derelict vehicles on the property Trying to claim that the American flag detracts from their property would be a tricky proposition at best. Unless the community at large has established that the particular flag in question is offensive. But being on the Leftist Coast, I'd suppose its possible.
  16. The ZJ looks like a photochop and the MJ isn't the worst thing I have ever seen.
  17. Welcome to the neighborhood... there are quite a number of us in the region.... I really like that color... don't know why... it looks alot like baby crap... Wow... Rob types faster than I.... good think I'm sexier...
  18. Ding Ding Ding.... Winna Winna Chicken Dinner.... You can't imagine how much easier the "I need to spend money on the Jeep" discussion is when you can tell her... Oh, it will help do this obstacle or that trail easier...
  19. I'll be watching it... How do they both lose??? GB loses... Adrian Peterson gets season ending injury??? Farve.... vastly overrated.. still....
  20. You guys are a pack of post whores.... The parents in my son's Cub Scout pack is trying to get me to become the Cub Master. Wonder if I can convince them their is a "junkyard scouting" or "sanding my rusty truck" badge????
  21. You need to make sure that you are not using a GL-5 rated gear lube in your manual. GL-5 lubes contain sulfur as an additive that will damage the synchro rings in your transmission. Synthetic lubes by nature a more cleansing that conventional ones. So there is no need to use a conventional lube to "clean things out" than switch to a synthetic. In fact it would be counter-productive. For engine oil, you need to make sure that you use an oil that meets the older API-SL specification rather than the newer API-SM specification. The levels of the protective elements(zinc and phosphorous) is too low in SM specificed oils for the needs of your 4.0l engine.
  22. Yup... KC,KS... hell hole of the Midwest. I was working at 66th & Kaw...Had one rental stolen from in front of a convience store there and one at our hotel (The Hampton Inn across from the Speedway).
  23. His location says KCK... if its the KCK I know... they would steal the caps off your valve stems if they could.... I had a POS rental Hyundai stolen not once but twice while working there...
  24. When I first looked at the picture I thought you took a rear bumper like a Tomken and adapted it for the front of your MJ... That style of D-ring would be kinda hard to use off-road.. where does the loop from the strap attach to it?? I wouldn't be interested in it.. The looks and functionality would drive me away, plus with no idea on how it attaches to the unibody, I would be VERY leery of it no matter whether it was attractive or not. BTW... chalk me up for the no tube bumpers. Just don't like the looks.

    Lions WIN!!!

They interviewed the coach last night before the Indy/Waaahbirds game... He seemed embarrassed at the celebration over a win.
