Hahahaha... cruise your half-broke Junk around to check a not completely working repair... and find some broken Junk to buy and work on.... You are a Jeeper.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I like the early triple colored Sportruck ones... Nothing says AMC-era like three colors of wierd shaped, pointless stick-on stripes.
-
Well.. being Aluminum it wouldn't rust. But the gaps would trap junk in them, and allow it into the inner bed side area. So it would cause even more rust. BTW... it looks like crap... steaming, smelly,in the sun all day crap....

The entire carrier looks different. It has more squared-off corners and you can see the spring clips that hold the clutch packs together. <=Trac Loc <= open carrier(with locker installed)
-
Wow.... that is a NICE haul.... Its probably just the angle.. But is that a Trac-Loc in that D-44???? BTW.. the D-44A is quite a bit lighter than the standard version.

I got a headlight for my wife's van, woodgrain dash trim and a correct dome light for my ZJ, the VIC from a Limited. Also got the tie rod, drag link and a TRE's from the V-8 ZJ. I've already got the headlight and dome light installed. Nothing like getting projects knocked out to keep the wife happy. And thanks Rob.. for catching my fat side.... :D

We scored a big pile of stuff.... Rob will add pics.. if his camera didn't break when he got me in the picture..... I am sore and tired... and I had to take a shower as soon as I got home..My wife wouldn't let me sit on anything...

I'm glad its working out. In this economy, that's a win... I worked for a Mienke Muffler when I was in college. They were VERY strict about the 'own tools' rule. If you didn't own the tools to complete the job, someone else did it. They barely had any shop tools at all. The techs owned their own. It was beyond hard to try and accumulate any tools when you are working for $4.50 an hour.

I'm normally a little slow moving on the weekends. Me getting much of anywhere before 9 or 10 doesn't generally happen(Unless I'm going wheeling).
-
Me too... I didn't know they were this bad.. I was considering buying a lift from them, because they are one of the few that offer an MJ-specific lift.
-
Sunny? Rob L. Good mood... and for whatever wierd reason...A regular hitch is $10 a reciever hitch is $30.... But I saw a couple of hitches when we were looking around...
-
Yup.... I saw the commercial on tonight during the Bears game I knew you would be thrilled... I can easily afford some more parts now.... I'll be there. But don't expect me to be sunny....

BTW... its 25% off weekend at LKQ-Rockford.

More importantly the decrease in strength of the R&P set in a low pinion set-up. But... Rob and you are talking about two different kinds of projects. Rob is replacing his toasted axle. He is getting 3.73 gears as a bonus. But everything else is staying the same. You are working on a Jeep with a good sized lift and much larger tires. Different project requiring different needs...

Quote:I am taking out roasted D30/D35 3.55's, and putting in D30/D44 limited slip with 3.73's. Why? Rob L. Just asking cause I got a D30 for free out of a 94 ZJ ,No CAD,has 297x u joints. This is where I learned about the differences in a "high" or "low" pinion D30.(Mine was "low"=bad). All ZJ D-30s are low pinion. And I'm fairly certain that the rear is a D-44A.. But I don't think either of us put a magnet on it to check.

Congrats on finding a job... I'm not sure how well its going to work for you making minimum wage like that, driving 45 minutes one way and trying to build a decent tool kit. But good luck to you. At least you have the drive and desire to work.

So your claim is that a 2 coil springs, 2 spring perches, 4 shocks, 4 adjustable control arms, 4 bushwacker flares, a CB antenna, 2 track bars and a 1 ton steering kit, plus packaging only weighs 83 lbs?????? One of two things has happened... either all your parts are made from some sort of lightweight alloy.. or you shorted this guy.... That line right there was completely unnecessary in an open forum. It clearly shows that you have absolutely no regard towards this customer. It also shows that you most likely treat your customers like this on a regular basis. In no uncertain terms, it also means that I won't be purchasing any parts from you. When you treat customers this poorly in public, it shows a glimpse of how you would treat each individual customer.

Those things pop-up every so often... I would like to get a chance to sit in one to see what that raised roof does to the interior room.

There has got to be 20-30 pairs at LKQ. I am planning on going back Sat morning. Maybe you could join Will and I for some axle carnage? Rob L. find out the price for me if you would. where is it, rockford? thats a hike for me, but i'm off for the holiday weekend, i'll have to see what the fam is up to. i think the sad part is i use lkq at work for all our used parts, and they deliver to my shop. their prices are great to the shop, i could probably just have them deliver this stuff for the same price we're paying, but the boss wouldn't appreciate it. Its on the southwest side of Rockford... and the price is right there on the website. If you come over... come around town on the bypass.. the festival will have the streets in town pretty clogged up. But it would be $10 for a manual mirror. how far do you think that is from say gurnee (should be a well known city). and thanks, for 10 bux if i don't show up someone better get me some mirrors  From Antioch (173 all the way to Machesney Park) it takes me about an hour to an hour and 20 to get to Rockford depending on traffic. Gurnee would be a little less than that...(shoot down the Tri-state to the Jane Addams, depends pretty seriously on traffic.)

Was that Rt. 14 Auto Parts???? Hahahahaha... looks like you won't be giving me any more crap about my Non-Compliance order.

I'm not convinced that this was anything beyond a mistake. The original AX-4,5 recommendation in the FSM is AMC/Jeep/Renault Gear lube in 75w-90 (API GL-5) or equivalent. They may not have thought about the sulfur content in the EP additives of the GL-5 gear lubes attacking the yellow metals of the AX-15. I didn't think there was any(or enough) yellow metal content to cause issues with the AX-4,5. Chrysler specifically exempted the AW-4 from the ATF+4 recommendation in Oct. 2006. But in Apr 2007 they suddenly add it to the ATF+4 recommendation.

Two things to think of... Its Labor Day weekend... Call the yard and make sure they are going to be open. Also Rockford has their On the WaterFront festival this weekend. Coming in from the the south won't be bad... But coming from the east and north east like you, will be UGLY!!!!!!

axles, T-case, half an MJ bed, Wade's master cylinder, and whatever other assorted stuff Dave and Co. get you to retrieve for them.... Do I need to fire-up the old Ford..and hook the trailer up????

Sorry about that vent Will. I had forgotten that was loose and fell off when I was gift wrapping it. I found the vent and line in the back of the ZJ when I got home. As for the smell... ? Would have to ask Correy on that one. I just took it home and its been sitting under my deck ever since. Maybe some bugs/water got into it. I don't think the pump is good, can't remember. Yep, got Dave's windshield, ended up being $45 glass and frame, and $15  For the wiper motor I forgot to take off. I think that was still a smokin' deal for around us. Wade, I can see what I can do next time I am up. Will said he'd be willing to help with the axles, so that might speed things up. Rob L. I'm already scrounging my couch cushions for change to get the parts I need for my seemingly 8 million projects...
