  1. July-August 2018: Newer Shoes and More Stuff Acquired Last month was the All Breeds Jeep show, and krustyballer16 came for the weekend to stay here. He went through hell and high water to locate and bring me a factory SWB rollbar. Which, funny enough turned out to be a LWB rollbar. Here it is next to the SWB rollbar I got from Gjeep for Silver Star. I was able to measure and verify that a factory LWB rollbar can be cut and welded and made into a SWB rollbar. And it would be as if it came from the factory that way. So this one will go under the knife unless another SWB rollbar magically appears somewhere. Will be a long while before we cross that bridge, though. Recently found a really nice 98 Cherokee. It was sporting either new or recently refinished Ravines on it, wrapped in brand new Hankook 235/75R15 A/Ts. So we did a three way tire and wheel swap. Ghost got the Ravines and new tires off the 98 XJ. The TJ got the blacked out Ravines I put on Ghost a few weeks back (really hated the black wheels on the MJ). The XJ got the wheels off the TJ, which funny enough originally came off Silver Star. So after playing musical chairs with wheels and tires, Ghost came out looking good again. Krusty also brought a couple factory rear bumpers in rough shape for me to use to rebuild one for Ghost. He also traded me some black interior pieces for a porno red interior I had here. This fills out the AMC black stash. .I should have a full black interior for each MJ at this point. Also shown here is a full black HO era grill and headlight bezels. And I bought a D44 geared 3.55 with LSD from The Dude at the Jeep show. Having Silver Star entered in the show, it was cool - we just drove right up to The Dude's stand, and loaded up. I ordered and received a Minuit Radio Emporium radio for the truck, so I'm going to install that soon and get the wiring straight. Hate the UFO head unit in there now, although it sounds good. Other recent additions to the pile include a Mean Lemons 62mm HO throttle body (highly recommend), and NOS chief hood stripes to use as a template for a few sets for my trucks. Plus today I grabbed a factory rear slider window from a guy in Allentown, PA. Its frame is a little rough, but has the original curved piece of glass I need to replace the plexi in Ghost's slider. Just like with Silver Star, I'm collecting the hard to find stuff at this point. I'd like to get Ghost titled in PA and inspected by the end of September, so she'll see some time in the garage soon. The YJ is still in full build mode at the moment, precluding real work on MJs. Soon... Very soon...
  2. July 2018: Jeep Show and More Stuff Acquired Silver Star began starting sluggishly and the radio would dim with the flashers on, so it was time for a new battery, and to check the alternator. I purchased and installed a new Bosch size 34 battery to replace the worn size 58. The alternator is fine, and she's starting right up again, but the voltage guage is reading low, so I have a thread open in tech to resolve that. I had the truck at the All Breeds Jeep Show last month. It was a terribly rainy weekend, and a great time. Didn't win anything, but Alexia's truck placed second in the XJ/MJ modified class. Krustyballer16 stayed the weekend, and brought a D44 for Silver Star from Indiana: He also bought a couple of factory bumpers for parts to help straighten mine out. The D44 is geared 3.07 with an open carrier, but will be regeared and will have a LSD. The 4.10 XJ D35 I bought previously for the truck has been sold. I also grabbed three 62mm High Output throttle bodies from Mean Lemons. One is for my YJ, and both MJs will get one. Superb quality and workmanship on these units. New to me chief hood stripes came in the mail as well. These are NOS stripes I got from mjtjnj, and will be used as a template to create sets for both trucks. So lots of parts requisition has been going on while I finish the YJ.
  3. Vehicle specs: 91 High Output MJ 4.0L AX-15 4WD A couple of weeks ago the truck started cranking slower, and my radio would dim with my flashers on, so I knew it was time for a new battery, and thought it might possibly be time to replace the alternator. Voltage guage looked low too. I installed a new Bosch size 34 battery to replace the size 58 that was in there. With the key turned to ACC with the engine off, this is what I see: The guage looks like it's reading a tad low. With the engine on and the alternator charging the battery: So it looks like the alternator is just fine, but the guage reads low, by more of a margin. So what's the fix? Does this reuquire a new guage, or cluster, or is this an indication of a bad connection or ground somewhere? Clean cluster contacts? Any inights are welcome.
  4. The width is dead on from what I recall, bolt pattern is different, but matches the popular to swap Wagoneer driver-drop D44 front.
  5. Isuzu Rodeos and Honda Passports from the late 90s have D44s, and are similar to swapping the XJ D44s. Somehow I bought MJ D44s for both my trucks last month. One 3.55 LSD and one 3.07 Open. They're still around.
  6. If you can grab the top of the stud with vice grips you may be able to hold it steady while using a wrench to turn the bolt. Use PB blaster ahead of time to help free it up. You can also use a torch to heat the nut and stud to make it turn easier.
  7. Thanks. I thoight you were refereing to the populace and was trying to infer the meaning of the abbreviation from that angle. Bread and circuses. This has all happened before. I worry about our future too.

  9. The Dude is in your immediate area and has a set of maroon buckets for sale. He had them here in York at the Jeep show a couple of weeks back. They're decent. I don't think they fold so they may have been from a 4 door XJ. I suggest you send The Dude a PM.
  10. They could just as easily reduce stock on the listings to zero temporarily, and it would have the same effect (not ending the listing). This is how most legitimate business handle stock situations with Amazon and eBay.
  11. I've just received three HO throttle bodies from Mean Lemons, and all I can say is WOW. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. Thank you!
  12. Oh man. That is awesome.
  13. This past weekend was a great weekend all the way around. Krustballer16 was here for the whole weekend - he traveled here with a ton of stuff including an awesome Stealth go cart for Bonkers, and a SWB Rollbar and MJ D44 for me. We got destroyed in the rain with Mean Lemons at the show on Saturday, and I got a set of cables from him. Also scored another posi MJ D44 at the show, courtesy of The Dude and Dom, who along the way started the Comanche Preservation Society. Bonkers made it through all but a hurricane to come hang out, and Alexia won second place in Class 7 Modified, beating out all the other XJs and MJs but one. 87MJTim came up to the show, as well as a few other members, and we met some new people and made some new friends. I think everybody had a great time, and it was really a lot of fun. I'm down to host next year again. We need to get a thread together a little earlier in 2019 to get more people involved. Here are a few pics. First, Alexia: Next, MJs at the show. Missed a few, but these were there all weekend: That's my 91 in silver next to the red Eliminator in the last pic. And here were some of the older MJ relatives:
  14. Put my name on them please. Sorry. I see Bonks snagged them.
  15. We've got space here for one more, in the event of an emergency, which this would be... So you could crash here Saturday night, if you wanted. PM me about it, or I'll see you at the show tomorrow. Not sure if you have to get home to help the property weather the storm, or you might be better off just staying up this way.
  16. Right on. Even better is a direct site query at Google, with quotes to match exact phrase: site:comancheclub.com "keyless entry" I played around a bit, there is an option there that I read past every time I did a search (and I bet others did too). Thanks for pointing it out. It's still not the best search engine, but that definitely makes it usable. I've opened a tech job on this to look into further. There has to be a way to get defaults set and get the engine itself running better.
  17. Bonkers as well. And probably a few members who find out the day of the show.
  18. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I'll dig into it. Thanks for the tip, Don.
  19. Can't wait! Could you make sure everybody who is coming got a PM so they know about the cookout on Saturday. I'm not sure how many checked back or even saw the post about it. Asking since I think you were in contact with mostly everybody. Thanks, and if I don't talk to you - drive safe. And take at least one stop between any tolls on the PA turnpike - they clock you between tolls, so don't average more than 65 MPH.
  20. Getting ready for the weekend...
  21. The search is weak. Maybe we need to update it or get a plugin. There are no real controls like you would expect (AND, OR, NOT, params, etc). "keyless entry" will hit on anything with "keyless" or "entry" in it.
  22. I have family just east of the Bay Bridge in MD. If you get into trouble anywhere, call me. I think you mean 404-50-97-695-83 - right? Dew will be here waiting for you.
  23. 94 and 95 YJ 2.5L were available with the TF904. Jeep didn't produce many YJ optioned like this, though.
  24. As in Mountain Dew?
