  1. There is a SnapOn scanner that will work with a special module but good luck finding the right one, let alone the correct module. It's also extremely expensive when you do find one. The guy in NJ is NickInTimeFilms aka NickInTimeDesign, his website shows them in stock. Great tool and does way more than the SnapOn one does. https://nickintimedesign.com/product/renix-engine-monitor-ii/
  2. Good job, looks and sounds great! Hows it drive?
  3. No seal it on the outside, put the sealant on the hole and run the screw in. As for the pads, just get some 1" foam weather stripping or something similar, that way it stays separate from your paint. Any dirt that gets between it and your roof will wear through the paint and cause rust.
  4. Welp I got a response. Apparently the company shut down years ago and a guy bought them out. He said all inventory has been sold except some wheels so no parts are available. I asked if he happens to know where the molds ended up but I'm not hopeful.
  5. I sent them an email, if I don't hear back in a day or two I will give them a call. I really can't imagine those would only be $159 a set, maybe per side.
  6. Holy crap they still list the sideskirts on their website. $159. I may contact them to see if they still make them or make anything else for the MJ.
  7. The u bolts are dependent on what axle you have, assuming you have a Dana35 so look for ubolts for a Dana35 and you'll find what you are looking for. The shock mount plate is not available new, I'm sure there is a company that makes plates that would work but after 10 posts you will get access to the classifieds here and can get a set of factory plates from a member.
  8. 3" is as tall as you can go without replacing them. What will happen is your axle will get pulled backwards in the wheel well and rotate. It would be best to get new longer ones, especially if you plan on replacing the bushings.
  9. Yeah I see Humvees more often than you'd think around here, would love to have one. Actually saw a true Hummer H1 a couple weeks ago as well.
  10. Nope same hood actually, only difference is the header panel and fenders. They molded the header panel to match more closely to the lines of the hood. The lines are so much more obvious with that header panel.
  11. Less of what I hauled but the transmission for my blue truck was delivered by a retired military Humvee, the beds were exactly the same height so we just slid it right into the MJ bed.
  12. In 20 years, these will be the Comanches that are affordable.
  13. That's a Jeep 2500 (2001-2014 XJ) front end from China. Yes China had the XJ all the way up to 2014. Not many of those front ends over here, good luck sourcing one, especially one that comes with the fenders too.
  14. . Looks freakin great! Love the color.

    MJs in movies...

They only count the ones that are very prominent and obvious such as being used by the actors. There are tons of movies with MJs that aren't on the list.
  16. I would definitely put some sort of sealant on the screws. Something that stays flexible. Silicone would be a good option but DO NOT use silicone that has the strong vinegar smell, this is the acetic acid that is produced when it cures and it will rust metals quickly. There are many silicone products that don't produce this acid when curing, I just can't think of what they call it right now. I suppose you could use windshield sealant for it because it's designed for outdoor use and won't rust the metal, the auto parts store should have some. Just be careful to only seal the screws with it, don't get the visor stuck to the truck. One last question, does your visor have the little foam pads for between it and the roof?
  17. Vise grips. Next voice would be get a grinder/Dremel in there and try to grind new flat sides on the bolt and try again with a wrench. Worst case, cut it off and drill out the yoke and go to true ubolt straps or get a new yoke. I wouldn't worry too much about the gas tank. I've had sparks flying all over around them multiple times, as long as the truck has been sitting for a day or too, there won't be too much for vapor floating around. Just keep a fire extinguisher or two handy in case.
  18. I can't remember the numbers off the top of my head but it definitely looks like an MJ one by how tall the sides are. It just uses self tapping screws. You can buy hardware kits on eBay.
  19. You're talking just the black Philips screws?
  20. I would think something like that would just cost shop time, that's a pretty custom job. They should be able to give you a quote over the phone to drill a hole and weld on a bung..
  21. Just making me want one even more.. looks great!
  22. More than likely a junkyard replacement then. Not necessarily a bad thing.
  23. I didn't realize those were stamped numbers, just looked like damage. As long as it seals you are good. That cutout is on every 4.0 I've ever seen. The are slightly different designs on the thermostat housing itself but as far as I know they all work the same.
  24. That's normal. I'd be more concerned with getting a good deal with the damage to the left side of the mating surface.
  25. The aluminum driveshaft sure is purdy!
