  1. Yeah that's heat buckling. Definitely quite tall. Must have been a hell of a ride for whoever is in the ditch up there.
  2. Ordered these, comes with all hardware including the nut strips. https://www.ebay.com/itm/202790197431 Not expected until second week of July but that gives me time to get all of the rust cut out and cleaned up. Also decided that since I had to spend the money on this, I will be rebuilding the leaf packs with what I have to save some money and now that I have no choice but to keep this of the road for a while. Plan is to rebuild the packs using the best individual leaves I have, add in an extra main leaf as Eagle suggested, and use my spare MJ shackles and possibly the extra (up to) 1/2" lift these shackle mounts offer to get myself back to ride hight or just slightly over. I'm currently sitting at 1-1/4" of sag so hopefully I can make that all back up.
  3. Thanks for the offer!
  4. I would do OEM but my welder isn't good enough to burn them in. The bolt on option will be better for me. Plus my floor isn't exactly existent above it so the OEM mount won't work anymore.
  5. Welp, I have a different issue to figure out before leaves now... How about recommendations on new shackle boxes? The HDengineering option seems to be the most budget friendly. I do however like the extra mounting points of the Rusty's.
  6. Do you plan on running some sort of filter? There are inline style filters available but I've heard that they really suck. Do you have equipment in the factory airbox location? I'm trying to visualize what you are working with. First thoughts are that with the brake booster and shock tower/mount taking up so much space, your pipe would have to go through towards the front of the fender. I personally have run two different setups of cowl intake on MJ/XJ and am working piping through my head for an intercooler setup on an MJ but haven't worked with a true external snorkel so I don't have any pictures to help you out there.

I wouldn't take it to heart, as stated above it is worth what someone will pay for it and I'm sure someone would pay that much for your truck. Just keep in mind what you have put into will never have a full return, and sometimes have almost no return in value at all, especially labor. Location makes a huge difference as well, the rust states always fetches higher prices so if you are in an area that has more trucks available or no rust, well supply and demand. That being said, I personally think your price point is fair for your truck. Plus people on Fbook can be Aholes.
  8. The large eye on one of the leaves rusted through/broke. The problem I have is rust, the good pack I did have is missing the middle 2 leaves because they are in my lowered MJ, the other pack I have the overload leaf is broken due to rust and the other leaves don't look fantastic either. This week I'll be taking it apart if it cooperates, I'm sure the bolts will end up being cut. If the packs I remove have halfway decent leaves I may consider rebuilding them with the extra mains if it truly rides fine as you say. I do have the middle 2 leaves from the MJ pack, I'm slightly curious what would happen if those were swapped into the XJ pack.
  9. T- how long until someone mentions the grill? Looks like it needs some new bed mounts. Wonder if it was hit or if it slit into something
  10. Thanks for the suggestion but I don't really want to do the on and off dance with the springs, want to throw them on and be done with it. All the springs I have are already gonna be sagged also so wouldn't really fix the ride height, would just fix the broken leaf for next to nothing cost.
  11. That's very helpful, I've heard good things about General and was curious if any of them netted a taller than stock. So far the 755lb General is the front runner.
  12. I do have extra XJ packs but if I'm going to fight it apart, I'd rather never do it again. I've gone back and forth just rebuilding my pack with what I have but I don't want a stiff ride from adding extra leaves and I'm sure the springs I have will still be sagged.
  13. So I am in need of new rear springs for my XJ as one broke. Want a high quality spring around stock height (+1" or so over stock is fine). Would like to get heavy duty springs if possible but don't want to be spending an arm and a leg. I was looking at the Crown springs but many people say they sag within a year. What else is out that that you have experience with and would recommend?
  14. Got the front end back together and was swapping the winter wheels/tires and noticed something else I inadvertently put off.. Probably shouldn't put this one off though..
  15. I'm not aware of anywhere that sells Comanche specific lines, many places sell Cherokee fuel lines but they would have to be modified to work I'm sure. I personally have cut out bad or broken portions of fuel line, usually that area by the engine where it turns to plastic, and used fuel rated rubber hose to patch them. You could get some lines from a junk yard, find somewhere to have them made, or run softlines. Otherwise let's see if anyone else has any other options for you.
  16. What portion of the fuel lines or do you need all of them? Also we need to know details on the truck (year, engine, swb/lwb, ECT.) As they vary.
  17. I have seen a few street MJs with that grill, a few with the regular grill. Anymore it's hard to tell where these less than common parts originated being the aftermarket options available way back when and no real records being kept on this stuff until now. Mighty nice Lund visor on it as well.
  18. Can you describe the play more? Is it rotational play like you turn the wheel and the Jeep stays straight until the wheel is really turned? Does the whole wheel move if you move it laterally in any direction? I find it hard to believe lower control arms would affect steering wheel play.
  19. Yeah I can't imagine it would go up in flames under normal circumstances but I wouldn't want to cram combustible materials in my engine bay either. If something were to happen it's way more likely to go up. I'd rather get some form of heat reflective sound deadening mat or something else that isn't quite so flammable.
  20. Sounds like the spring is broken/missing and the cable is cut/broken or not in the truck.
  21. Cheap repro of these would be awesome! Not sure they'd be any better than any Chinese made mounts though.
  22. Nice! I've had it since shortly after it initially released years ago so I'm well over 1000+ hours in it. I've spent tons of time searching for an XJ mod but nothing really worked well. This looks really promising, I'll have to follow the updates for it and hope it releases. Thanks!
  23. What have you guys put off fixing and what did it look like when you finally fixed it? I put off the front end clunk in my 95 XJ for quite a while, probably over a year. Finally got around to fixing it because I was fairly certain it was the U-joints and that can be dangerous. Turns out I was right. Rust sucks. The needle bearings were either gone, crushed into a powder, or completely rusted into a solid chunk in the cap. Also broke my only working 1/2" drive ratchet taking the axle nut off. All the bearings and joints in the front end are being replaced now because they are either just as bad or I destroyed them getting everything apart.
  24. That looks like a decent game, I'll have to download it, looks like itd be fun. Another really good one is BeamNG Drive. It has the most realistic physics of any car/vehicle game. The offroading in it is pretty darn good as well. The vehicle parts/suspension actually work as they do in real life and the damage model is extremely realistic. Takes a decent PC to run it though.
  25. It has an integrated bracket thing. I got the entire setup off an XJ heading to the yard.
