  1. Check your sway bar links, common cause of a turning clunk noise.
  2. I miss HOrnbrod.. Too bad the link and pictures are gone, I'd be interested to see this truck, sounds pretty interesting.
  3. Found the squealing noise to be the dust shield contacting the rotor. When installing the axle shafts I noticed the driver's side to be a tiny bit further into the diff than the passenger side, which is causing the rotor to be very close to the dust shield. I bent the shield away from the rotor and it fixed the issue for the most part. Its quiet when going straight or turning right but still makes some noise while turning left so I'll take it apart again to bend it out a little more. Overall the truck drives great! I've been taking it out for short drives each day and today I went and did some figure 8s to get the LSD broken in. I've heard it both ways on if it's necessary to do that but I did it just in case. The local cop even came by and parked in the lot next to me and watched me drive in circles for about 5 mins, never came and asked what the heck I was doing, which surprised me. I'll take the tire off again tomorrow and see if I can't find the other spot of contact to get the noise to go away. I could also just drive it until it self clearances, it's already starting to go away.
  4. I personally wouldn't with that drivetrain. It's a very nice looking truck but even to a collector, it isn't original nor does it have desirable upgrades done to it. If it were to have factory front and rear bumpers with original wheels it may be worth it for someone who wanted an original truck. Granted those things could easily be changed.
  5. I haven't tested that yet. I'll definitely have to though.
  6. Many speculations out there on total number of MJs if you search hard enough. No concrete data and definitely nothing for swb vs lwb. There wasn't a ton made, at least compared to other vehicles, and definitely not many left in comparison.
  7. Interesting, I haven't heard of anyone doing that, I suppose it would work. I saw plenty of people go through the trouble of changing out the internals but I didn't want to mess with all that. I had gotten one from a Grand Cherokee with rear disks a while back so I installed that to have the proper flow for disks.
  8. There are still quite a few rural postal carriers around here that drive XJs. There are 3 that deliver in my area and I see two of them almost every day. Most are the left hand drive with pulley and dual pedals so it can be driven from the passenger seat. A few are true right hand drive.
  9. Tightened up the links and bled the brakes. Test drive was a success!! I can't go too fast or drive hard until the rear diff is broken in but I can already tell it's way faster. First gear is basically pointless now and second runs out quicker too. Suspension is a little close to the bump stops in the front, hit a decent bump and it bottomed out but wasn't harsh and didn't hit the oil pan which is good! The rear brakes squeal a bit but I don't see anything wrong with them and they weren't overly hot so I'm going to give them a few drives to hopefully settle in. So happy with it so far, can't wait until I can put it to the true test.
  10. Dang you found all the deals! I think I paid like $20 for my tank straps without bolts.
  11. Holy crap, that's worth just throwing an extra set or two in an order just to have extras.
  12. This is what I did because I couldn't find the correct bolts for a decent price. Definitely an alternative!
  13. What you mean?
  14. That some people want something more comfortable to sit on than the tailgate. Lighten up, to each their own. Enjoy it for what it is.
  15. I'm pretty sure I've got one, if I find it you can have it. I did a full 97+ swap in the blue truck so my dash is from a 97+ XJ also so no cutting was necessary.
  16. Today I got the brake distribution block swapped. Had to remove and swap the black mounting bracket over to the Grand Cherokee dist. block so it would bolt up to the master in the correct direction. Also had to swap the plug in the rear to accept the extra brake line on the MJ. Also picked up the sway bar links. These are for a 2000 Nissan Altima. They aren't bolted tight yet, just hand tight but they will work pretty dang good, also was $12 for a pair. Thanks very much again to 70barracuda for the recommendation on these. I'm down to bleed the brakes and tighten up the links before a test drive!!
  17. I believe I have an extra one, I'll have to check the stash.
  18. This is the piece jdog is talking about. I actually like having heat pumped behind the seats because it evens the temperature in the cab out much better.
  19. Good find! Looks almost exactly the same as the factory bolts. Does it come with nuts?
  20. What if you had no tailgate? Or wanted something comfortable to sit on while tailgating, drive-in movie, little leage ballgame, BBQ, bonfire, taking a break while working on a project/the farm, for something to work on during quarantine, because it's cool, ECT. There is a million reasons for something like this. Awesome project barimpact, thanks for sharing.
  21. That first picture is definitely just a 97+ swap Comanche. The roofline above the windshield is of an MJ, the XJ roof doesn't raise up like that, compare it with the truck Pete posted.
  22. There are a ton of really cool cars in there. Super rare ones too
  23. I haven't made it through the whole video yet but there are some awesome cars in here.
  24. Welcome! That's a nice looking truck. Watchamakalit hit the nail on the head. Definitely start with Cruiser's tips. More than likely your blinker issue will be solved after completing them. My bet is it is the ground behind the driver's taillight.
