I'm doing this on a computer.... Just use my phone to take the pictures.. I myself hate using my phone for stuff like this but when you are at work and need your CC fix, the phone is what I gotta use.

Would this ax15 fit in my 87 Comanche???
Dzimm replied to Talon's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'd recommend a Budweiser box, it comes with better beer inside -
Yup works perfectly! Thanks again!

I bet you know someone who can fix it....

Email sent. Thanks Pete.

Dang I was hoping you had all those and wanted to sell some.. I'm not prepared at the moment to drop $$$ on a set so I'm not actively looking, but If the chance falls in my lap, I'll have to pull the trigger on it. Thanks.

For sale?????? I'd love a set for the MJ with the white letters!!! And those brackets for the rears since mine are falling apart.

I'm just using my phone for pictures. It's the HTC U11 though and supposedly has the highest rated camera ever in a phone, whatever that means as far as picture sizes and camera wizardry and what not. They usually range from 1-3MB (up to 5MB depending on resolution) in size unless I upload them to imgur and downsize them but I can't even get them small enough to fit the 50kb max without being super distorted.

It's the best solution when you don't care much how it looks. Even if you do care, the matching color tape blends pretty well from 10+ feet away.

Unbolt the existing hinge from the door and bolt it up to the new door. The weatherstripping will swap over without having to change the trim. The trim won't sit perfectly along the bottom of the door but it also doesn't look out of place.
-
That makes perfect sense to do it. How do you plan in creating access to it, especially since there will be a battery there. I certainly wouldn't want to pull the dash any time I needed to access the battery.

Funnily enough, here is my solution to a rust hole in the door that goes through to the cab... Yup that's duct tape. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk

I think the heater box helps to support the dash slightly so you may get a little movement in the dash afterward. I can imagine you'll hear a lot more noise coming through the firewall as well, and you'll have to patch a few holes in the firewall. I am definitely interested to see how you are able to utilize this space. There will be a ton of room there but accessing it will be the hard part.

That still seems too small to me. I don't think my current one is under that. Isn't it supposed to resize images itself? Or are we still waiting on that? I can't upload images through CC at all because they always exceed the cap and don't resize.

MacGyver's personal Jeep FOR SALE!!! !!!RARE!!!! Low miles, tons of rust holes for better airflow through the cab, and gas smell to ward off unwanted guests. $10,000.

Reservoir is fine and all vac lines and recovery lines are new.

Heater core is good. Maybe they thought they could patch the rad with it after the mech fan went through it? My best guess is that the old rad was leaking before it got destroyed. Everything else seems fine and there wasn't any gunk in the thermostat housing at all. It was actually very clean.

I am trying to change my profile picture but it requires it to be less than .05MB. There must be some issue here because I don't think an image file can even be that small...

I agree, those need spaced out more.

The new seals finally showed up and I started really tearing the axle apart last night. I got up to the point I was putting the new seals in and just couldn't find anything around that was the right size to use as a pressing tool. I finally gave up and went to bed frustrated. I started on it early this morning and was completely finished by noon. First thing I did was look for something to use as a seal pressing tool. I ended up finding some steel already cut in a circle and only slightly bigger than I needed. I spent about 30 minutes grinding it down on the bench grinder until it was the right size. I then took a bolt and various washers to have something to pound on. It took way more force than I expected to get these seated and I never could have done it without this tool. After the seals were in, I cleaned everything up and put the carrier back in. I bought some of those aftermarket outer axle seals so those went on next followed by inserting the axle shafts. I made sure and used a ton of antiseize so they come out easy next time. After getting everything back together I bent the exhaust away from the front driveshaft so they no longer make contact unless the truck is under some crazy flex. I had to test everything out by cruising around the acreage and of course I took some pictures along the way. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk

I've never seen stop leak like this before. They must have been trying to stop a monumental leak with it. But that doesn't explain the hair-like fibers. The cat is definitely a possibility... It was prolly chasing all the stupid mice out here...

So I was changing the thermostat on my 95 XJ due to it running at 160* and found this when I pulled the rad cap off. It was like the hairball your wife leaves in the shower drain for you but in white, with some copper antiseize mixed in. Jeep was running rich due to the 180* thermostat the PO put in it. It has a new rad of unknown pedigree due to the pass side motor mount bolts breaking and sending the fan through the old rad (unsure if this may be part of the mystery). After putting a 195* thermostat in it, it runs at 210* but still isn't running as good as it could. Anyone see anything like this before? Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk

Who's Using LED "Bulbs" and What Brand
Dzimm replied to Keyav8r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you search for led replacements on Amazon for the bulb you need, you'll find something that would work. *bulb numbers for 96- bulb sockets* Below are what I use for my 97+ sockets. They are super bright and look great. The bulbs are the same for turn signals but they would require an in-line resistor to work or the flasher will think the bulb is out and flash rapidly. I myself just left the standard bulb as a turn signal for now. I am still waiting on my new seals to show up but I finally received the front clip stickers from Spencer. He did a great job making these based on some rubbings and pictures I sent him. The lower part of the J is just slightly short on my set but he knows about it and tweaked it so any future sets he makes will be perfect. If you want a set of these for your 97+ front clip (they go right onto the factory lettering) get a hold of him and he'll get you some. Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
