  1. Don, Mr newguy cannot be hassled answering your questions!! Just change it to the way he likes it, okay?
  2. Is there anything else we can do to accomodate you Mr newcomer? Perhaps we can make multiple changes for you and let all the regular seasoned guys just deal with it.......
  3. His response is related to the post because he has to clean them up.
  4. You should be able to read those values on the REM.
  5. Especially one that was part of the dash clock........ I wish more guys here would get one. for the price of a coupla unneeded sensors, you can own one.
  6. Not that I've seen.
  7. No. But it shows short term and long term fuel trims and oxygen sensor activity, MAP voltage, engine vacuum etc.
  8. Yes, use the REM. But, go to www.cruiser54.com and do Tips 1 through 5 anyway.
  9. Butt connectors are worse than the C101!!!!!
  10. Ooooh. I like that better than Hobo Freight.
  11. Are the wires soldered or butt connectored?
  12. As for location and adjusting, every time I've used an APV, I adjusted it once or twice and then never needed to adjust it again for different conditions.
  13. For future reference:
  14. Slow down on firing the parts cannon at your Jeep and do some diagnostics. The meter you need is $5 at Harbor Freight.
  15. Test the CPS. http://cruiser54.com/?p=50
  16. Those wires at the distributor can be left unhooked and it will run.... As stated, we need more info.
  17. DIAGNOSE the leak. Could be as simple as loose valve cover bolts. For the vacuum harnesses and routing:
  18. go to www.cruiser54.com and complete Tips 1 through 5 before replacing any more parts.
  19. I’d be looking up ABOVE first, and VERIFYING the source of the oil leak YOURSELF. Everybody, who doesn’t own or have to pay for or perform your vehicle repairs, loves to poke their noggin UNDER the Jeep and come out bearing the false bad news that your RMS is leaking. Many mechanics, friends, and good old Uncle Bob seem to enjoy telling you it’s the rear main seal. Has a catastrophic ring to it, doesn’t it? A simple leak at the back of the valve cover or other source could produce the same symptoms. You don’t need to be a mechanic to figure this out. If you have good eyesight and a dim flashlight, you’re good to go on your own. Don’t jump on the RMS/oil pan gasket bandwagon right off the bat. Almost any oil leak on your 4.0 is gonna drip from the RMS area for two simple reasons: First off, the engine sits nose-up and any oil will run back to the RMS area. Secondly, the RMS area is also the lowest point on the engine. Simple physics and the old plumber’s adage apply here: “Crap flows downhill”. Valve cover gasket, oil pressure sending unit, oil filter adapter seals and distributor gasket, in that order, have to be eliminated as possibilities first.
  20. Well stated and accurate.
  21. No kidding. check it out.
  22. No.Not at all. That's how my 87 is. count the clicks.
  23. I'm a mod on Cherokee Forum. That site has a lot of sub-forums. I spend every morning moving threads around to the correct sub-forum. More is not better. I'd love to $#!&can the Cherokee Chat and Ask the Question thread on that site...... Not good for sound technical advice. My 2 cents.
