I WANT !

Having already done that, it looks just the same as on a XJ. SHARP!
-
Directly interchangeable. Both of the 6054 series.

Well, 54Bobby. I don't know what yer doin wrong but I never have that problem. After the preliminaries while heading to Micky D they're all over me all right. However when they get down to the crotch area all i hear is a loud "Oh my gawd" Then it's over to the side of the road and play time. Then they leave. Not only is my wallet still in tact but usually there's a couple bucks more in it than there was before. Also a phone number. :D

Her names Lily. 9 months. It's a P28. Dakota. Piper is responsible for ATC referring to the air space from 3000ft AGL to 18,000ft as 'Indian Territory" because of all the Indian named A/C flying there. There is two piper's named Comanche. The PA30, a twin engine and a PA28 Comanche.

Your grille is crooked Jim. Not the chrome one. That's an old pic from something or other. It's the only one I could find of a header. Any way that's the wrong grill. The grill was horizontal. Off a Limited I think. Like this.

Swap it. Can't be to much worse than what you've already got, and, it just might be a good one. Reason why I don't buy parts from a junk yard.

According to Google, they did make a 60* 2.8 V6 in 1993, and apparently that's what I have. Tnx for the input guys.

I recently picked up a 1993 2.8 engine from a '93 S10. Upon checking the only engine for '93 S10 was the 4.3. I got this engine to replace the busted one in my '86 MJ. How can I identify this engine for sure? Haynes is no help. :dunno:

Took the grand daughter up for her first flying lesson. She loved it as much as I do.

2.5L Engine Swap: Any Last Minute Advise?
jimoshel replied to Comanchemodder's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Planning on the very same swap, only a '94 XJ instead of a YJ. Waiting to see how it turns out. Thought about swapping everything over, engine, wiring harness, ECU, dash, everything but couldn't see any benefit for the extra work so not going to. -
Big deal! Drive a vehicle off a ramp into a pool of water in the safety of a back yard. Now if they had drove it off the St Louis bridge into the Mississippi river or off a barge into Lake Superior. Now that would have been something. Especially if they just kept going and drove it back to shore. :laughin:

Not sure just how many engine swaps I've done over the years. Been a couple. One thing I've noticed tho. Seems the more planning and research the guy does, the easier and better running the end product will be. First thing is, is it going to be a 'toy' or a practical every day driver? If it's a toy then anything goes. If meant for a dd then reliability is the top requirement. Some of the toys I've done was a Continental C90 into a model A frame. A 1938 Stutz Bearcat into a sawmill. and a 1958 Packard into a dune buggy. Have done the usual Chevy swaps into just about everything. Chevy's are practical, reliable, easily obtainable and heavy. In my personal, and humble opinion Ford and Buick are two of the best engines for a swap. Just as good as Chevy but 200 lbs lighter. I've had good luck, and results with buick, olds 215, the Buick V6 and 350, 400 and the Ford FE family. And I'm not a Ford man. The firsts swaps I did, I had to make everything, adapters, mounts, everything. Now you can just whip out the ol check book, or CC and buy what ever needed. A lot more convenient but not near as much fun or learning experience. One of the disadvantages of swapping anything into a MJ is it's strong point. Unibody. You have to be more careful of what you cut and weld. If you're going to do a MJ swap then there is plenty of info for your benefit. Find it and use it. CC is a good place to start. With the wide and varied back ground of the members it's not likely you're wanting to do something that hasn't already been done by some one here. Use the search function. Ask. Note to Mods; I'm just rambling. Feel free to delete any or all of previous post. Jim

But the exhaust can breath freer,

I think we've hashed this over about long enough. Sh*t or get off the pot. I'm donating a MJ, garage space and labor. So who's coming up with the engine? :brows:
-
Chevy engine in a MJ? Sacrilege. Like putting a Pinto engine in a Rolls Royce.
-
Brake shoes rusted to the drum. Back the shoes off and give yourself some slack.
-
That does not look like any standard issue Jeep part to me. Looks like something homemade or after market.
-
Remove the two bolts and remove the whole thing. More trouble and work but it gives you a chance to inspect it and see what's wrong.
-
So, what do you guys plow with for your purposes?
-
Ditto

HUH? I'm still trying to get my fountain pen to work. :hmm:

To add to the above. Take a hammer and smack it and drive it back into the door. It sounds like the roller is stuck. I suggest you remove it, there's two 10mm bolts holding the roller assembly. Remove them and let the whole thing fall back into the door frame. Retrieve it and see if the roller turns freely. If not, clean and grease, or replace. Don't be surprised to find the mount broken, letting the springs bind and jamming the roller and or the lever. I have welded a couple but it's easier to just replace everything. Is the metal around the two mounting bolts tore up and bent? Another common problem with these things.
