  1. I heard it just the other way around. Always take your Ford to a GM or Chrysler dealer, etc, etc, because they will be extra nice trying to win you over to their brand. :dunno:
  2. Cab ain't big enough? That's what the bed is for.

    1984 Bronco

Would a '84 Bronco make a good donor for a MJ? It's 60 miles away so I would like some idea before making the trip. Seems I heard someplace that the the axles were D44.
  4. When I was working for NMSU one of my duties was interviewing job applicants. I had nothing to do with the actual hiring. I just talked to them to find out how much, or how little they knew about the equipment they would be working on. Ran the gauntlet from a kid just out of high school who personally designed the 747 and all it's electronics, to hear him tell it, to a BSEE who had been out of work a while and was willing to do anything for a paycheck. It was interesting but there is no way I could make a decision on who would get a job and who wouldn't.
  5. Considering some off the horse asses I've worked with in the past, maybe equine experience would be a good thing.
  6. I think that was the same rock I got hung up on back in '69 when I was up there. Nice lookin truck. Ever take it out on the dunes?
  7. English wasn't my best subject in school. Plus I seem to be forgetting what little I did larn. :hmm:
  8. As long as we're on the subject of misspelling, how about the mis use of same sounding words. Really gripes my cage. Break-brake Wench-winch And a couple more, can;t think of them now.
  9. And welcome to the madness.
  10. I really wouldn't buy just an engine like that for a swap. I would want the whole vehicle with all associated parts. I'm gonna check tomorrow. See if I'm still on the insurance co salvage vehicle list.
  11. Earlier this evening I got a email from ebay showing a pentastar engine for $12K. Couldn't find it. All I could find was this. 2012 Jeep Wrangler Pentastar 3.6L (V6) Engine Motor (VVT) 285-HP Oem 12 $2,500.00 Buy It Now New Take-Out 2012 2013 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L Pentastar Engine Assembly 68082776AB (Fits: Jeep) $2,650.00
  12. Will it directly bolt in to replace 2.8? ^^^^^Likes to dream.
  13. Got it! It was just a very tight fit. A knife blade down the edge and it popped out. Unscathed.
  14. I did too. I got them out. I think it's just a tight squeeze and a knife blade worked down into it would pop it out. I'm just not sure if there was anything else holding it or not. It's a beautiful dark red and I want to do a interior swap with a MJ so I don't want to break anything. It's removing the trim I'm having the problem with. Going to go try a thin knife trick. Hoping for the better.
  15. Got it out. It's going to be a couple days before I can get it in the mail.
  16. How in beegeesus do you remove the dash panel? Have all the screws and other hardware off from the right hand side and the bottom. Can pull the right hand side out a couple inches and the bottom up but that's it. Acts like there's a screw holding it directly behind and above where the instrument cluster goes. Getting ready to use a crow bar and pry but I want to salvage it. Don't want to break anything. Help! :dunno: :hmm: I've removed the 5 screws holding the defroster duct. I can pull the right hand side up a couple inches but I can't get it loose from directly behind the instrument cluster.
  17. '86? I believe I can help you. I'll check tomorrow and get back to ya.
  18. I picked up a '89 S10 about a year ago.Had the factory roll bar on it. Not sure how much it would have helped in a roll over. It was fastened to the bed with 4 1"X3/8" sheet metal screws. One on each corner.
  19. That is the most refreshing thing I've seen all year. What is it? :dunno:
  20. I gotta talk about my first bike, a '42 Harley, It was designed especially for the Army, Marine Corp as a courier. Was 45 cubic inches, opposed cylinders, 4 speed tranny. Had a driveshaft. not a chain. I got it in 1947. Had to keep it at my uncles house. Mom absolutely said no to me having a motorcycle. Still had the leather scabbard on it for a Tommy gun. Tore the prairie up chasing jack rabbits on that thing. Rambling over. We now return to the previous thread. ;)
  21. Sorry Don. Gotta disagree with you there. I was riding a Harley when i was 12 years old. A Beemer is the smoothest bike I ever been on but I'm a Harley guy.
  22. No balancing shafts or anything. Just the flywheel. That's one of the reasons the pancake 4 is so popular. Two opposing cylinders cancel any vibration .
