Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Got an update! This happened Time to start rebuilding the chassis.
  2. Also if you use Chrome as your browser all you have to do is right click on the image and then click copy image URL
  3. Do you have a facebook? If you do you can take photo's right from there.
  4. Found these images for you Should help with routing. Also basically all diesels are the same, Air system goes as follows: Intake>Turbo>Intercooler>Intake Manifold>Exhaust Manifold>Exhaust Coolant system as follows: Water Pump>Radiator>Thermastat>Engine Block>Back to Pump The Turbo should also have and oil system so that's probably where some of the hoses go. Then you have Vacuum lines. I'm going to guess on the routing. Usually there is some form of a Valve that receives air from a couple of locations. One from the air in on the turbo so it gets atmosphere pressure/vacuum, another source will be from the intake manifold which supplies the pressure. The valve out should feed the turbo wastegate which will control your boost. I'm just guessing on this part because I'm used to working with more modern turbo setups but they basically all breakdown to the same setup. On a side note did you check your turbo for play? It would be a shame to do all this work to have the turbo just blow up and ruin the engine.
  5. Yeah the Midwest is terrible and it's a constant battle with any car
  6. Got some more work done. I'm basically done with the stripping process. No I just need to actually start spending money. Tested out some rust remover I had laying around. I'm very pleased with the results. Got the bench seat removed. What a mess the previous owner left me. Found out that floorboards literally mean a board for the floor. Looks like I need a welder and some new floor pans.
  7. Yeah I live 15 minutes from a terminal
  8. It would be cool if they would ship by greyhound. It's only about $54 for shipping and you just pick them up at your nearest station.
  9. Hopefully after I'm done it will be good enough to eventually pass on to my kids.
  10. Glad I invested in a canister filter. Managed to get all the loose paint and rust off with a wire wheel last night and also got the top of the passenger wheel grinded.
  11. Got the fuel tank dropped and Truck bed removed. Time to start grinding frame rails.
  12. Wow it's been a really long time since I've been on here. Was pretty consumed by moving and then the car blew up yadda yadda yadda. Anyways I'm finally back to what I've been wanting to do...Rebuilding the manche I have her parked in the barn and this will be it's resting place for a few months while I disassemble and rebuild Removed the bed liner, I'm impress at how good the truck bed looks. now I just need to get some side panels to get it looking good again. Right now I'm working on dropping the fuel tank, removing the truck bed, and gutting the cab. After that I will be grinding the frame rails and putting por15 on them. After only being able to remove 2 bolts last night I realized I need a torch, larger drill bits, and cutting wheel to get this thing removed. Stay tuned as I continue to rip this guy apart. :)
  13. Got bored at work today so I designed some tailights!
  14. A link to download the manual is in the thread. Good luck! If you have any questions I'm pretty familar with all the wiring since I spent the last 3 weeks diving into mine. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/?hl=electrical
  15. I know there is an entire electrical manual on here somewhere. I'm trying to find it.
