Found these images for you Should help with routing. Also basically all diesels are the same, Air system goes as follows: Intake>Turbo>Intercooler>Intake Manifold>Exhaust Manifold>Exhaust Coolant system as follows: Water Pump>Radiator>Thermastat>Engine Block>Back to Pump The Turbo should also have and oil system so that's probably where some of the hoses go. Then you have Vacuum lines. I'm going to guess on the routing. Usually there is some form of a Valve that receives air from a couple of locations. One from the air in on the turbo so it gets atmosphere pressure/vacuum, another source will be from the intake manifold which supplies the pressure. The valve out should feed the turbo wastegate which will control your boost. I'm just guessing on this part because I'm used to working with more modern turbo setups but they basically all breakdown to the same setup. On a side note did you check your turbo for play? It would be a shame to do all this work to have the turbo just blow up and ruin the engine.

Yeah the Midwest is terrible and it's a constant battle with any car

Got some more work done. I'm basically done with the stripping process. No I just need to actually start spending money. Tested out some rust remover I had laying around. I'm very pleased with the results. Got the bench seat removed. What a mess the previous owner left me. Found out that floorboards literally mean a board for the floor. Looks like I need a welder and some new floor pans.

Mj Body Panels.....searching For Bed Panels.

It would be cool if they would ship by greyhound. It's only about $54 for shipping and you just pick them up at your nearest station. -
Hopefully after I'm done it will be good enough to eventually pass on to my kids.

Glad I invested in a canister filter. Managed to get all the loose paint and rust off with a wire wheel last night and also got the top of the passenger wheel grinded.

Got the fuel tank dropped and Truck bed removed. Time to start grinding frame rails.

Wow it's been a really long time since I've been on here. Was pretty consumed by moving and then the car blew up yadda yadda yadda. Anyways I'm finally back to what I've been wanting to do...Rebuilding the manche I have her parked in the barn and this will be it's resting place for a few months while I disassemble and rebuild Removed the bed liner, I'm impress at how good the truck bed looks. now I just need to get some side panels to get it looking good again. Right now I'm working on dropping the fuel tank, removing the truck bed, and gutting the cab. After that I will be grinding the frame rails and putting por15 on them. After only being able to remove 2 bolts last night I realized I need a torch, larger drill bits, and cutting wheel to get this thing removed. Stay tuned as I continue to rip this guy apart. :)

Got bored at work today so I designed some tailights!

A link to download the manual is in the thread. Good luck! If you have any questions I'm pretty familar with all the wiring since I spent the last 3 weeks diving into mine. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/?hl=electrical

I know there is an entire electrical manual on here somewhere. I'm trying to find it.

Over the weekend I cleaned up the electrical and installed the upgraded injectors. Then went to a pick n pull and got some fun parts. Everything was half off so I kind of got carried away. Parts: Grill healight trim RS turn signal front light harness Upgraded gauge cluster Wanted to get more but 4 hours in 98 degree weather with no water tends to get to you.

Hey guys, I was going through some builds and saw some people with LED headlights. I started looking around and found them for a great deal on EBAY. $390 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Truck-Lite-27450C-Single-Rectangular-LED-5-X-7-Truck-Jeep-XJ-YJ-Headlight-/360719948850

This has been an awesome build and if I ever went hardcore wheeling I would want to go with you because you seem to be able to fix anything with tie straps, zip ties, and chains lol. On a side note, I might be able to fix your cooling problem. The reason you are now getting better cooling with the single row is because it has far less restriction in air flow. So now you are actually getting good heat transfer between your fins and air because of the increased air flow. But truely the 3 row should give you greater cooling capacity. I think you didn't have strong enough fans to pull the air through the cooling module. Also with a 3 row you honestly need a really good shroud to get the most out of your fans. To let you know that fan on the front is probably doing little to no good. It might be cooling about 10% of the area that the fan covers. A possible upgrade for your fans and shrouds could be the Ford Taurus fan which seems to be far greater than an basic electric fan and it comes with a good shroud. Just food for thought.

Thanks Comanche Kid, now I can continue working away getting the engine running nice and smooth.

Was cleaning all my electrical connections today and ended up snapping off a pin on the latch relay. Does anyone know what I can replace it with? Can I just use any 5 pin relay? Should it be 12V or 24V? Also I got these today!

Hey guys just thought I would start an official build thread since today I bought my first parts for the MJ. I got bit by the bug and now there's no going back. Today I purchased basic maintence parts Bosch Plugs and wires valve cover gasket Precision Injectors for jeep comanche This should get her purring like a kitten Next on the list: Upgrade headlights to H4's Replace the 10 pin harness in the upper drivers side fender for the lighting assembly ( figure I can pull one off of an XJ) Upgrade all grounds Clean all electrical plugs Replace battery cables

Thanks Guys, when the time comes we will see which direction I go. If things go wrong I know I have the suppor of the club to help me out.

Yah I thought it look a little wierd and was trying to figure out how to go about it. I guess I'll just grind it down and slap some 12-14gauge steel up on it. Comanches don't have a regular frame its a unit frame which is a cross between a unibody and a frame, so technically it doesn't come off. The Dakota uses a traditional frame so it would be a major job to swap it. Most people just install frame stiffeners/plate the unit frame.

Pictures as promised: Lots of splicing, I think the PO bi-passed the relays so they had always on fogs. Also the truck was in a front end collision so may they just took the front end from a different vehicle and spliced in the harness. Not really sure. Just a wider shot of the kaos. Pop Cap washer...CLASSY  Inside the cab electrical mess. Does anyone know what the big black box does? Also does anyone know what the plug that is just hanging goes to? Leaky transfercase \\F Floor Board? Nope, just carpet and rubber padding. Well This is my future, why did I have to drink the coolaid.
-
Yah I'm hoping maybe I can get a discount since I know most of the guys. Tonight I'm going to tackle some electrical stuff and post pictures of my mess. Issues I know: Transfer Case Leaks-Most likely old gaskets. Pretty sure it's almost empty by the amount of noise it makes. Transmissions Leaks- Most likely just old gaskets. Floorboards-What floorboards I'm running straight carpet on the driver side. I'll update with pictures tonight Electrical- No dims, no radio, no dome lights, part time horn. Couple of bulbs burnt out. Also PO installed an electric fan that has a dash mounted switch. It's not terrible but it definately needs to be cleaned up and should probably have a fuse installed inline. Headgasket leaks- Once again old gaskets. Slow start up- Probably needs a new battery, or sparks. Well this is all what I need to take care of before I begin the upgrades. Wish me luck!
