That's what I was afraid of. TB looks fine, reused my old one. Had troubles getting the intake to seat properly due to header wrap.... I'm willing to bet that's the issue. Dammit. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Ok, first off I'm actually scared to start my truck. Just did the manifold swap. 99+ intake, new exhaust. New power steering pump, all that jazz. Go to start and.... the engine takes off like a jet. Immediately revs to 4k before I shut it off. Did this 2 or 3 times. Disconnected the MAP and still does the same thing, although harder to start. Any guesses? Kinda need to get to work in the AM. Just how capable are the BFG A/Ts in mud and dirt? I run them on my '86 K30. They do alright in sand, pretty good in mud, etc. I don't do a lot of off-road but I do see a lot of dirt roads and mud. I like em. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Google "how to retrieve codes OBD1 jeep" for the 91-92 models. The truck will tell you from a very limited code selection. The renix motors, I'm less sure on. Other than that, do you have a specific issue? These aren't new cars that self diagnose, lol. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Yep. BWD might get ya home in a pinch....then again it might not, lol. I've found that NAPA electronics aren't too terrible, but a lot of my spares come from the local pull-a-part. They usually charge $3-10 per whatever and I'll either bench test it or just swap it in and see if it works. If not, take it right back and they'll credit ya (which I can use on another one!). -
Sounds like you need to start scrounging the junkyards for a same or similar year XJ. Pull as much as you can from it, HVAC box (if it's cracked you can fiberglass it. I just did mine), A/C controls, wiring harness, compressor bracket, and all the pictures you can take before and while you pull this stuff off. I've got an '89 XJ 2-door that I'm trying to get rid of, problem is it's in another state (Georgia). I'll try and find any pics I may have of it.

Well that was a very cool read. Didn't know Bendix had done an electronic fuel injection system that far back. The Corvette Rochester systems were totally mechanical and a real PITA to work on. Thanks Cruiser!

I may have one that I bought that would work. P/N: 56278 made by four seasons. If ya want to give it a shot I can take measurements for ya. Bought it and won't need it (still in the wrapper). -
I've got the BFGs on my Chevy K30 and have 0 complaints about them.

Apparently the '92 uses a Low Pressure Switch and and '96 uses a High Pressure switch........ Shouldn't matter, switch is closed when pressure is within spec, open when it's not. The '96 is 4x the price though....sigh.

Well....ran into a snag or two. Turns out the factory hoses don't have valves on them....and neither does the compressor. So what I'm thinking is I'm going to buy the hoses for a '96 Cherokee (saw one in the junkyard, came with 134a factory and has the charging ports on the hoses). The hookup locations for the evap are the same, condenser looks pretty damn close if not exactly the same, and I'll probably have to get a new accumulator with a low-pressure switch and mount it in the '96 factory location (no idea where it mounted on the '92......it wasn't in my truck when I got it). I'll have to cut the LPS connector off my harness and solder in a '96 style connector. Anybody see issues with this?
