    top 5 bands

This thread reminds me of the coolest mj post. It's like choosing a favorite child. #1 - Chiodos (hardcore) #2 - Tiger Army (psychobilly) #3 - Rise Against (punk) #4 - onesidezero (alternative) #5 - The Used (no response)
  2. Does anyone know who the Stig is though? My friend thought he might be a particular rallye driver from back in the day, but wasn't sure.
  3. Your height won't be effected by the shock, but the amount your axle can travel will. Most shock companies have a shock that is 0-2" of lift, but you may want to go with a 3" lift shock if you feel you need something longer.
  4. Or a different axle and adapters?
  5. Lol, that's exactly like my Toy, minus the diesel. 208,000 miles and I cannot break it.
  6. I've never heard of this. Can you explain it a little more? Do you install a torque converter and flex plate?
  7. More like: Pete -> <-spammers :cheers:
  8. Might've been a diff program than. The one I saw shows tubes in red and green I remember, to show how well it'll hold the stress. I'll try to find it later.
  9. I don't agree. I just stated why I think they WON'T work. The next line that I wrote compared it to poop pipe. It will work, but how well is the question. The arm will still function as an arm is designed to, to keep the axle positioned under the vehicle. Like poop pipe, it'll get you down the road just fine, but offroad, you'll prob get the rod end stuck up your @$$.
  10. Isn't there a program called BendTech Pro or something like that? I've seen prerunner guys use it, and it looks priceless.
  11. I think everyone will agree that using a tie-rod end would work on a control arm. I also think everyone will agree that using poop-pipe works on a control arm, but when the rig starts seeing crazy stresses, I'd prefer not to have that under my rig. I have no idea how strong those ends are. They could be the bee's knees. Once again, I applaud you for thinking outside of the box. If instead you are looking to save some greenbacks, I'll give you these links. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=358938 http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=319739 They are cartridge joints, similar in style to a johnny-joint, and are less than $35 a piece.
  12. I *believe* you can reuse your old clamps, to keep the leaves from fanning out, and the bolt that goes through the leaf pack that you had to remove, goes back into the pack to hold the leaves together. You do need a clamp to take the leaves aparts, or they will explode around your workplace. Just a C-Clamp or the like for that.
  13. For an add-a-leaf, take the leaf springs off the truck and axle, then remove the nut that holds the pack of leaves together, stick the new leaf in the pack, bolt the pack back together, and install it back on the truck. Basically, the add-a-leaf forces the springs to arch and give lift.
  14. So you mean like this? Or like this? I think you'd really want some sort of double shear on there. Congrats on thinking outside of the box, keep that up, but unfortunately I don't see this as working well.

    Coolest MJ

Bobbed the front, and leaves forward:
  16. I have ridiculously long shackles SUA. It lifted the truck, but the tires are much closer to the flare than I'd like. Next truck'll prob get a 1" longer-than-stock shackle, not 4.5" longer (2.25" of lift).
  17. I run 1/4" over the old studs on my Toy everyday. No problems with em what soever, but I'd be concerned to use anything wider with the cheap style, because you lose so many threads on your lugs.
  18. The manufacturer's numbers aren't going to be while on a vehicle, because would they measure on a Samurai or a Super Duty?
  19. Loved the redneck truck coming down that rockface! Anyone know about the flares on the v-8 truck?
  20. To them it's like asking what color man thong to wear. I like my red, same as Pete's red, but if I were to repaint, I'd go with Chilipepper Red (I think that's the name) that newer Cherokee had, or Ford's DARK red, so that my bright red interior'd still kick @$$.
  21. 4-link rear? Glad about the wheels, those are rainbow. Red gonna be the accent color?
  22. The only thing the person in the article mentioned was putting on the newer door strikers, but nothing else. Not saying that's the only thing to do. Never done it.
  23. Looks like Cole's interior.
  24. And lose that nice glossy paint? You're crazy. What's the reasoning to not go with power?
