Is that a 40 series, a super 40, or a 40 delta flow?
-
It's also becoming more diverse! We're finally getting 2wd owners in more often and more hardcore guys that are interested in backhalving their rigs. Definitely a change from everyone wondering about 3" lifts like a year ago (not that there's anything wrong with asking about that).
-
If you're real iffy on time though, just plan the front for one day and the rear for another. Nothing's worse than rushing.
-
I found an extended cab with buckets easier than a bench.
-
If you're planning on dovenosing it, you'd normally have to graft two fenders together to get the length you'd need to reach the header panel, so if you just move it back (like it's that easy), that's one less thing you need to do! Do it. Why not?
-
That's a nice looking system! Did you have that installed professionally?
-
We've gotta figure out this spec, cause my 2.5 -> 904 has 4.10s. '86s are so difficult to find info on! Who would've thought your 3.8 would blow up a 35?! I don't really have any tech to add to this thread, but a rear axle swap from a 35 to 35 is So easy and quick, just grab a 35 off of one of your 14 MJs and throw it in till you can upgrade. No one's addressed his brake questions...
-
P.S. Those rims kick @$$ in the asthetics department.
-
Well, 30x9.5s with stock backspacing/width doesn't hit, but 31x10.5s do, so 34x10.5s would be pretty bad. You can run spacers and it'd be fine. Same effect as running less backspacing.
-
The ones pictured are 5.25" backspacing, I believe. I have a set of those on my 5-lug Yoter. Yeah, they'll bolt up, but your tires will assassinate your LCAs.
-
OR, eh? Good lookin truck. What do you have going for control arms?
-
Was the thread the same as the normal ones? They apparently have a pretty bad rap for stripping out. That's just how it was on the axle I got from the JY. I replaced them with the equipment that was on my old axle (new brakes).

I think I'm sick. -
Eh, they won't stop us though. I brought a truck of mine to the car wash place here that guarenteed their washes. It was so caked that they had to run it through twice and then they ended up hand washing it. I knew a couple girls that worked there though, so it wasn't too mean.

I posted here, I thought... I have a mixmatch thing I put together that rides nice, but... 2.25" lift shackles are bad! On full droop, the shackles force the axle forward enough that my driveshaft bottoms out on the tailhousing of the t-case. This will DESTROY my T-Case!!! If you use lift shackles don't go too big like I did, even though it does ride dreamy...

Nice service Pete. I like mine being way off color though.
-
so you're tellin us you've got a forest service XJ right? haha those are sweet if you havent seen one like I'm talkin about. gangsta's gotta keep deadly exotic animals man, how can you be a drug dealer and not have an african tiger or at least a few black mamba's ;) Lol! Hide the drug money in the cage...

On mine, the passenger side had been changed out to 10mm bolts :dunno:

I can imagine the lift thing, cause it's pretty much a Huge body lift with a suspension lift underneath it. Please, get pics. I've seem a couple Cherokees done like this, but there were done kinda cheesy, and I've never seen a Comanche done up. -
control arm drop brackets

:clapping: -
I think bolt-on parts with no body modifying necessary would be nice. The average person just wants to buy something and bolt it on, without having to mess with anything else. If they did, there's a good chance they would've built it themselves. Rock sliders and rear bumpers would be nice. I've already got em, but if I didn't have em, I'd whine or make my own.

207 to 207: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.p ... 07+doubler Read that, and it's pretty simple on that setup. I love my floorboards too much right now to do it. Once I roll the truck, I'll prob get into it though.

F' the Comanche's tranny hump! I hate that thing! This sounds like alot of work! I don't imagine any particular problems with the whole thing, but (like I always have) I wonder about the gauges. And I hope you have a good cutting tool! -
Did you build the sliders yourself? They look nice on the garage floor but would look nicer on the Jeep!
-
I can see the water coming down, doesn't look like fun to work in. Dynomax sounds pretty nice, and I hear you on the noise problem. Used to be an issue with a v-8 for me, but not so bad with the i-4.
