  1. Thank you for the correction then. I was under the assumption that the tachometer was based off the firing of one single cylinder meaning that a 4-cyl tach on a 6-cyl would be off by 1/3 of it's reading.
  2. Another issue to take into mind is if it's a 4-cyl '86 and you have a 6-cyl '87, your tach'll be off. Or so I would assume...
  3. Who needs doors?
  4. 6 in of lift and 40s s.h.iiiii.t
  5. Well, I found a June '06 Peterson's and it's the one that they talk about the joys of going to junkyards, but I don't think it's a junkyard built truck. It just shows one picture of the truck. No grill, looks like 38" TSLs, tube doors that are... different. The sweet paint, wooden bumper, and has "axles of evil" decalled on the windshield.
  6. That was bad @$$ paint. Wasn't that their junkyard build?
  7. Another favorite is grabage cans that have been split and riveted on... I ran a section of 55 gallon drum over my tires on one of my trucks. Kept the feds off my back till I ripped em off on shtuff.
  8. If you want to keep the bed, I would suggest avoiding this truck. The quarter panels are hard to come by in good condition, and are outrageously priced new. You can patch it, I guess. Depends how much you like bodywork and working with sheetmetal. Some guys love doing that stuff.
  9. How did you get that nice roll on the sheetmetal?
  10. Start by cleaning all the connections where the bulbs go in. All of them. Next, pull off your grill and you'll see a wiring harness for the front end lights. Make sure that this harness isn't smashed at all, as often these trucks end up in front end collisions where these vulnerable wires get harmed. Third, pull off your driver's side taillight and make sure the ground behind it is Real clean. Those 3 things can cause all sorts of gremlins throughout your system. Not to talk down to you, but you're using the proper amperage fuse, right? And junk the chimer. It's just there to annoy you while you're working on your truck.
  11. So you're set on the I-6, though? No interest in a SBC or 4.3L V-6? I only bring it up because of how inexpensive it is to get ahold of those motors and how simple the SBC is. I know the Renix system is pretty basic, but not nearly as much as a carbed 350.
  12. You don't need more room for those 35s, you just need more sawzall for those 35s.
  13. The AZ school is crazy nice! My friend just graduated from there and we spent a week there with him. Everything's super clean and the teachers are real personal. What he hated was everything about Phoenix.
  14. I be that guy! I raced a semi, and won, FWIW.
  15. Where'd you find that tonneau?
  16. I've seen it done, but the fab work required isn't near worth the time.
  17. I kind of wish my truck had doors with all the recent rain, but the scent of mold airs itself out.
  18. Well, if you plan on getting the 2.5, just get the '86 cause it's nicer. If you plan on dropping in a 4., get the '87, cause the firewall and header panel are already prepped.
  19. My arms are Acme threads with a lube point, so I'm pretty sure they'll be fine with the pulling, but as C-dub said, call up Clayton! Can't find a better answer outside of that!
  20. What the hoof? You're gonna drop your 13.49 posts a day down!
  21. How easy was the application? Looks like it applies just like spray paint.
  22. That is sitting out there aways. I think I'd run em without the jam nut, but leave some thread so that that arms can wrist on the threads while flexing. Honestly, I've never tightened the jam nuts on my arms. Side note, are those Only the 4" Rusty's rear packs?
  23. FWIW, every LA set-up I've seen has had the old LCA pockets completely ground off. What's the issue with placing the axle a little further forward?
  24. Are you planning on keeping the bed floor? If not, tear it out, and build mounts off of your frame.
