  1. I can set all posts to read so I don't fish through the same ones that haven't been answered?
  2. Get a measurement between the tcase and rear diff. Put your old driveshaft into the tcase and measure from the center of where the U joint would normally sit and where it sits at the rear end with the truck sitting normally. (I push the driveshaft into the trans all the way and pull back @ 1 1/2" before measuring to allow for travel) Are you going to put in a slip yoke eliminator?
  3. The diesel motor would be fine if it's turbo.
  4. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25455 You need the whole URL comancheclub.com /forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25455
  5. I used to live on the corner of Hwy 7 and Davies Lake rd.
  6. Maybe between them. Got out just before the market went in the toliet too!
  7. I looked into doing just an extended cab with the 2 dr by grafting the front half up to the B pillar on. (shop will do it for $3,000 for me)
  8. D35 or D44? The lengths are slightly different. Lifted would be longer too
  9. Are you trying to make a link? In the line above the top line when you post is a URL button you click, paste your URL then click the button again.
  10. You mean Hongcouver? Or Little India (Surrey) If you detour to Aggasiz and go down old Hwy 7 to Mission then the back way to Stave Lake dam on Dewdney Trunk rd the view is AWESOME! (I lived up there and drove that stretch as often as possible) The dam has been used in several movies http://www.google.com/search?q=STave+La ... d875d403c4 $#!&! NM. They changed all the old rustic stuff (probably for the Olympics although the old dam was getting pretty tired) The rest of the old highway should still be cool.
  11. It used to be available on the "Help!" rack when I worked at Schmucks but it sold so rarely that they obsoleted it. Never saw it at NAPA.
  12. I have a 160 amp alt on my 4.0L which was matched in case size to the original. I just upgraded the cable to the battery so it worked right.
  13. Aren't they the same as 4 cyl?
  14. Last time a code enforcer harassed me, I handed them toilet paper and when they asked what the hell I was doing, I told them they would need it next time they trespassed in my yard. (ALL my neighbors were cool with my rigs. I was instigated by some asshat who lived on the EAST coast who saw I had 4 CL ads posted and used Google Earth to spy in my backyard!) Never had trouble again. I had a 7' fence (wood panel, installed in 1940 when the house was built) and they tried to have me remove it. I got a petition signed by all my neighbors that it was THEIR fence too and they wanted to keep it because it kept the crackheads from yard jumping. After that, someone shot the owner of one of the houses next to us and moved crackheads and a section 8 baby machine (13 kids from 1 - 25 and none with jobs!) They kept calling the city about our dog (which we didn't have at the time) and throwing trash over the fence, claiming it came from our side. We heard 4 gunshots go off at 3AM and when the cops arrived there wasn't a PEEP from that house, 13 kids and all. Next day a roll of carpet came out the window upstairs and went away. Owner of the house turned up in Tacoma bay in a roll of carpet. Doesn't take Sherlock to figure that one out! Finally got tired of it after catching the 5' 300+lb "Mama" stealing people's mail around the block. (apparently she was depressed because she couldn't pop anymore out) The mailman I told about this ended up being run over by his own truck a couple weeks later. I took the clue, sold my house (fortunately while the market was still hot) and moved on. Less than a year later the house mysteriously caught fire TWICE.
  15. Turn the key to on twice before cranking. If that works the fuel pump relay is probably going bad. I swapped mine for the AC one (it's there, but my truck had no AC. Go figure?)
  16. My fav. Sunglasses, bullets and a large canvas bag
  17. Mine was in the bottom of the fuse box
  18. Derf! Got that screwed up. It was my mom that passed away not my brother (although he tried REAL hard on the motorbike the night she died. He broke his arm in 3 places when he crashed)
  19. If it looks like it's hiding a basketball, it's an M20. Note the curled up lip around the outer edge of the Chrysler cover. That's how I tell it from a D35 at quick glance.
  20. I think you're my brother from another mother! (sadly mine passed recently after being sick with cancer so I haven't been on the boards for awhile) Did you find a 2wd AX-15 yet? I have one we bought (was going to put it in my room mate's '67 Rebel with 290, but she sold that to pay off a near pristine '55 Ford coupe) Paid $250 for it but don't know what shipping would set you back (came with no bellhousing because it was external slave) I also have a Model 20 from a '77 AMX I was going to put in my '88 MJ but that would be too heavy to ship. I am going Mopar XJ diff with 3.73 posi. (I can get for $200) I'm hoping to tackle my '82 J10 Honcho swap soon for the same swap. That way it will be affordable as a daily driver and since it's a stepside, aside from maybe hauling a 5th wheel (that's what my '81 C20 with 454/TH400 is for) it won't see much "real" truck work but will be able to offroad (our driveway is 4 miles of class 1 - 4 trail depending on the weather)
  21. Looking at the map got me missing my parents again. We used to go fishing up at Nimpo lake, Paradise lakes and many other places up there. I used to ride the Williams Lake stampede, Cloverdale rodeo, and Calgary Stampede. PS: Get through there quick before the snow hits! (any day now)
  22. Sorry. Been busy and didn't get many pics. My mom was found to have cancer and she passed away a couple weeks ago.
  23. They were always zero balanced (inline 4 and inline 6 are inherently balanced) but at lower RPMs any differences in the compression would make them shake slightly so the shock was added to dampen the vibes. The 6 cyl is also smoother because it fires more times between each revolution. Picture someone firing a gun. You know that recoil? The same thing happens when the cylinder fires. Guy with a machine gun doesn't move around as much when he fires because it fires in such rapid succession.
  24. If you do the Mercedes diesel, you'll want to find a Mog oilpan for clearance. I'm vying for a Toyota 2LT for mine because they use a version of the AX-15 and that will make it an easier swap.
  25. Using the linkage from an XJ that is all on the tcase and doesn't pivot on the floor next to the gas pedal is the best OEM setup.
