1. I had he same problem with the bearing kpuller but I just took my grinder to it and made it smaller so it fit in the hole but then I couldn't return it but it was only like 12$
2. I know this was from 1 year ago, but I got my truck painted at Macco. It was there medium line Job and so far the paint has held up great and looks good. It costed me 1100$
3. I got it going. Just had to bolt on the thing on top of the tranny bell housing. I started it up with the exhaust off and it sounds soooooo good. I might have to straight pipe it
4. Also there's no spark and no wetness on the spark plugs
5. Cranking but not starting. And it ran perfect when I parked it
6. So last weekend I did the ax15 swap, but never actually tried turning it over until today because I was busy with school and my sister was gone so I just drove her Jetta. Everything a on except for the 4wd linkage and front drive shaft. The thing won't start. Battery's good, starters on, it has gas but it was empty when I parked it so I just put 1/4 tank in it. I used the ax15 starter; should I have used the ba10 starter? I don't know much about getting a vehicle started so any help would be great!
7. I said that because the newer transfer cases like the one I swapped in to my jeep during my ax15 swap, doesn't use the vacuum system
8. You could do an ax15 swap and eliminate that completely. That's what I just did.
9. I am but the exhaust part is different so I'll have to fab something up. I just started school so I don't have alot of time anymore. I'll have to wait for the weekend
10. I got some 2 for cherokee doors I'm trying to sell
11. If you do the elimination, you will not be locked on 4wd. You will only be in 4wd when you engage the tcase. The elimination just locks the two piece axle together. Read through the prior link. There is a lot info about how it is "supposed to work" and what the elimination accomplishes. You should use the 4wd shifter and linkage from the donor. There is a diff in the profiles for the BA10 and AX15 that the linkage adjusts for. [/quote Now that I have more time, I'm trying to modify the crossmember so it can support that exhaust pipe like that original one on my Comanche did. Anyone have any suggestions?
12. Damn that looks good. This weekend I want to pull the engine and d30 out of this cherokee and I'm going to rebuild both and swap them in eventually.
13. I got a 2 door cherokee I'm trying to get rid of/ part it and a guy wants the doors. The glass is good. No rust, paints decent, they go up and down fine except for the drivers side handle likes to pop off. How much should k tell him? I don't really have any idea
14. Thanks guys got it all figured out.
15. Ok thanks. I'm probably going to wait to do the elimination because I need my truck running by tomorrow. Also, if I do that elimination will that leave me in 4wd? How does it shift into 4wd anymore? Does it hair use the linkage? And should I pull out that aftermarket 4wd shifter that is pictured earlier?
16. the rainbow colored lines look like electrical linesand nothing like vacuum but I'm not sure. And do I need to that elimination thing? What if I left it? And when you talked about that cable thing, that has nothing to do with that aftermarket 4wd shifter thing? I'm still confused on some stuff.
17. So i cut off all the plugs on the cherokee and am going to wire them back in but i am confused on some things. like the breather hoses, there is only 1 on the new t case. should i just ditch the others from the comanche? maybe theres more but i couldn't find any more. and then theres this 3 wire plug. on the comanche it was 4 wires. what wire do i leave out? and what are the plugs on the t case for? this is the old t case from the comanche where the plug goes into ">http:// here is the old plug with the 4 wires, while the new one has only 3 ">http:// here's a pic of both the plugs that Id like to know what they do. the closet one is the plug that i was talking about above. this is the cherokees t case. ">http:// below is a pic of an after market 4x4 shifter. The PO put it in, IDK why. to engage 4wd i had to pull the normal lever and then pull out this button thing ">http:// is this thing part of that shifter? on the old t case, there was a port where it screwed into. ">http:// thanks all! hopefully ill have it in tonight.
18. So I'm in the middle of the swap right now and have two problems. First one is the electrical connections on the AX 15 look a lot different than the ones on my Comanche. Do I need to wire new plugs? Also I got a new slave cylinder and master but I could not get the new hydraulic lines is it OK to use the old ones? I'll swap it out once napa gets it but they don't have any in stock for a while
19. How do I know if my cherokee is non CAD?
20. So I got everything in, now I need to start pulling the hydraulic line and clutch pedal off the Cherokee. One thing I noticed is that the Comanche electrical plugs much different then the cherokee electrical plugs. What do I do about that ?
21. No for both but I asked a mechanic friend and he just said to pack it with grease. I bought about the flywheel thing but mine is in perfect condition so I just left it alone but maybe I should.
22. Any advice on how to tighten bolts without having it spin?
23. What flywheel do I use? Cherokee or Comanche?
24. today is monday, and ever since friday I've been doing the ax15 swap. its been going well, no issues until yesterday, sunday, when we found out about the PB and the different size. today, monday, i went to a machine shop and had a new brass bushing made for 35$, which was sweet and only took 30 mins. hopefully i can have the clutch and flywheel back on in the next hour or so and then start putting her back up in the comanche. Also, do all of the comanche plugs, and breathers fit on the ax15? or do i need to do some wiring?. thanks! I also got to borrow a tranny jack from work, Imco Construction, and that has been really helpful so far.
