  1. That's what I was thinking when I saw how good of shape the body is in. Don't have a problem with neighbors. None in sight from my house and live out in the boonies. The issue is mother, not a fan of broken down vehicles in the yard. :shake: As of today, I'm leaning towards the fixing and selling since it seems to be in such good shape overall.
  2. good idea. I will get some pictures up when I get home from work today.
  3. :hmm: I bought a 98 XJ last night for a donor for my MJ. But upon getting home and taking a good look at it, it almost seems wrong to tear into the very nice XJ that I just purchased. Its got about 140,000 miles and 4.0l auto that has a stutter at idle and I noticed a rod knock when it idled for more than a minute. I only paid 1700 for it and it has about 1000 worth of brand new tires. :wall: I'm trying to decide if I should use it as a donor like I had planned or if I'm better off spending the time to fix the motor and other very minor issues and sell it for a profit. What do you all suggest? I'm open to ideas.
  4. :agree: They seem to have just about every factory part that I've needed in the past. Ordered my gas tank from them at it was here within the week.
  5. Does the license plate fold down for the receiver? does the light attach directly to the plate?
  6. A buddy of mine just finished building a garage for his plumbing company and it's sweet. Something like 30' x 60' with a 14' tall garage door and soon to be a lift or two. I wish it was on my property is all I have to say. The only thing he needs is a TV and that's probably next on the list
  7. Thats terrible. But congrats on the baby and good luck with the engine swap. I liked the general lee look better but I guess pirates will have to do.
  8. I'm pretty sure I still have my 3in coils. Don't think I have anything else that would help you.
  9. I will as well for the fun of it. 92 MJ - 20 86 MJ - 26 00 protege - 12 96 ranger - 16 01 sienna - 11 04 rav4 - 8 avg = 15.5
  10. You mean all MJs aren't this way? :fs1: I'm sorry to say but most of us are in similar situations. Not to say that you're having a tough time getting movitavtion to fix yours up, which is unfortunate, but I feel as if most of the people on this forum, myself included, have these trucks and are fixing them up with limited time/knowledge and know it's a long road ahead. Best of luck with you're truck and don't give up hope just yet.
  11. With it being a DD you shouldn't have any problems at all with a 2" puck and the bigger shackles. Not much of a lift so it won't strain anything else.
  12. Should be a fun and interesting build. Can't wait for more updates. that album asks for a private album password btw.
  13. Haven't done anything since the spool, had a buddy move out of town for good so we threw down all weekend  . The next step is to get it to pass VA inspection. A week or so ago the blinkers didn't blink for multiple days in a row and then all of a sudden they started working again yesterday. Any ideas as to why? And when I noticed that the blinkers worked again, the liscense plate light went out. Not sure if they are related or a coincedence. I'll be out of town all weekend this week so it'll be some time before I get to :wrench: again. Those lights and replacing the parking brake assembly are all that's left. Hopefully.
  14. looks like quite a project. You might have the only MJ with worse looking floor boards than mine.
  15. All front parts will fit right on. MJ leafs are longer than xj leafs.
  16. Man is that awesome! Never seen that before  same here. That was awesome!
  17. It sure it. Always gets the job done easier. Did some more spool testing today and it sure works great. Now I just need some new rubber.
  18. if your ever up in C-ville area give me a shout and we can do some wheeling yall too
  19. Finally got around to installing my Christmas present the other night. A mini spool for my rear axle: Ford 9" Took a little longer than I expected but what jeep project doesn't? Still able to get it done in one night. Got the carrier out. Gotta love the ease of the 9" Got the guts out. Didn't want to take it completely apart but had no choice. And finally with the spool in and beginning the reinstall Gave it a test run and it works great. Only noticed it on the pavement at full lock turn.
  20. Welcome! very nice mj. Where in VA are you located?
  21. I'm running 4.10s as well only because I had a factory axle with those gears in it and it saves lots of money rather than regearing it all. I only have 31s now but I plan on going to 35s once Interco gets their sh*t together and makes some more :fs2:
  22. I was about 16 when I got my first cell phone. Right around the time I started driving. My parents didn't think it was necessary for me to have one when they were driving me everywhere and always knew where I was. Still with the same number almost 8 years later.
  23. Well I guess it's time I start my build thread seeing as it's been about 2.5 years since my first MJ purchase. This is what's left of the 86 I bought way back in August 09: 2.5L I4 ran like crap. It only lasted a couple months before I decided to go start looking for another MJ to build. I found a 92 MJ 4.0 with ax-15 and np231 that had about 210,000miles on the ticker and a 3in lift. Missing front passenger fender and grill assembly. Swapped that out the first day I owned it (May 2010 I believe) Image Not Found As you can see the paint was real ugly on that first one I bought :fs1: List of what I've done: SOA rear on ford 9" with 4.10 gears new drum brakes on the 9" swapped front d30 from red MJ that had 4.10 gears factory Rusty's 5" SOA kit Replaced gas tank Replaced front windshield Fixed rusted floors and hurculined interior New power steering reservoir New valve seals Nates 4x4 rear bumper Installed rear minispool Plans: 35" swampers 3 link custom long arms with d44 9" rusty's front springs(already have about 9 in rear from SOA and 3" pack) locked front and rear new paint (I like the white) keep it road worthy for at least a couple more years then most likely a trail rig only Thats all I can think of now, updates to come. gas tank hole driver's side holes cut out My buddy's welding job and primed holes patched and painted This is how she sits today(but a little cleaner now that I've washed it) Image Not Found comments and/or suggestions welcome
  24. Welcome to the madness
