87/00 Comanche Classic Diesel LWB 4 X 4

A little update, sold the Rubicons to buy the new tires and wheels. WELL, as things always go plans changed. I cannot make the OM617 work easily with the 97+ electronics, and I am a person who has to have ALL of them working. AND this little dream came along. 1999 XJ 140K perfect drivetrain, harnesses, interior etc. perfect as in well maintained no rms leak, no fluids underneath, brand new radiator and condenser So the plan now is to swap it all over to the MJ and make it all work right. will do, waiting for the right weather here to get started. After a little research, I found this out, so the OM617 swap is out. -
Yep could not agree more. Took me a long time to find one with a good body in this price category.

Thanks, they are for sale too. It is going to be a long build I am afraid. ME TOO, have wanted a good one for a long time. Brett thankin you. It is in better shape than I expected that is for sure. I will be picking your brain for sure. I am not a fan of either. My wife says the exterior is purple, although it is maroon. The interior was just dirty and cluttered. It is in very very good shape for the age. Once it is out with a little more vacuuming it would almost be like new. The entire interior will be for sale as a package once it is out. It will definitely have the darker agate interior with the agate XJ seats. The exterior is going to be white, I love white vehicles with black wheels, so that is the combo it will get. With having to paint the front clip and the doors it only makes since for a full respray. -
Who would have thought they ever tracked this, but makes since: 87 Comanche 00 Cherokee 05 Mercedes 06 Chevrolet 10 Jetta makes us a 10.4 so right on the average.

regular jk shocks work on xj/mj up to 2.5", but the red jk rubicon shocks are the best. i have a set on my xj, love them, they are nitro charged and are good up 3.5".

Will keep updated as I get to working on it. The weather is too cold to do anything right now. Funny you say that, BUT I want the new style interior with the above gauge cluster. It is a perfect platform. Looking forward to digging into it. I am in the Kansas City MO area. Thank you. -
It is all for sale viewtopic.php?f=24&t=34238 I have wanted an MJ for a LONG time, but around here, just like the XJ's they are all rotted out and not worth the crazy asking prices. I got lucky on this Arkansas rig, so no calcium or salt on the roads too often. After owning 7 XJ's and after buying the second one, I have always told myself that they had to come from the I-70 border and south. Finally got the new project home and cleaned up. Really excited to get started on this one. Thanks to another forum member for a great deal on the MJ and conversion parts. Plans are to get everything swapped over to the 97 and up style to look like the Classic XJ. Layout: 97 up Sheetmetal swap Full respray to Jeep White Rhino lined bed Mercedes OM617 swap with AW4/231 4" SOA lift 8.25 rear swap Fuel Revolver wheels 15 X 8 Toyo Open Country M/T 33 X 10.50 X 15 Full 97 up XJ interior including the UK Diesel Dash swap: Gauge Cluster from UK Diesel XJ Glow Plug and Wait to start indicator from UK Diesel XJ All of the interior will be for sale, as well as the body panels. They are in very good shape, and will make good replacements. Rubicon tires and wheels are for sale as well. Here is what I am starting with, only on little hole in the drivers floor pan, which I will fix. Very excited about this project and will update as I make progress. I ran it through my wash bay and cleaned out the bed and interior and was extremely surprised with the outcome. The guys that work for me want to buy it, but I said no go. Here is the album: Thanks for looking.

Hate to hear stories like this, but RESPONSIBLE credit card usage is almost a must today. I have been an AMEX member for almost 10 years, and prior top that had OK credit. I pay it off every single month ahead of the payment date, and believe that it has been a huge driving factor into my almost pefect credit history today. Key word is RESPONSIBLE. I have several friends who are still paying on stupid college credit card debt many years later.

Buying on credit can have its goods and bads. I have killer credit, have bought and sold 10 cars with loans in the past 3 years. Always making money on each, saving enough each time to pay cash for 3 cars that I currently own. Still have one loan at an extremely low interest rate (1.99%) at Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Today if I wanted to buy a really high priced vehicle, I click 2 buttons on PenFed and it is a done deal, check in the mail in 2 days. You have to be smart about it. I pay all my bills 15 days early and loans twice a month. It is habitual at this point, I never see most of it as it is all bank draw. Trust me you have to start somewhere, get a loan, buy the truck, just be smart about how much you truly NEED to spend. Be careful on the interest rates as well, you do not want to walk away with the new truck upside down. Also look at GAP coverage to make sure that you will be covered if it is totaled. I too was once in your shoes, but you can really better yourself by being strict and budgeting. Try Pentagon Federal, worth a shot.

As it is with every project. You were the first on my list to PM about parts. Hopefully the weather holds and I can get started.

Thank you my friend. I will be picking your brain at some point.

Thanks for the comment. The change to the MOABs was I had an offset issue with the icons and mt/rs sidewall lugs rubbing the lca's. The change eliminated this issue. Know about the WJ LCA's? Rob Sure do. I am fine with the way it looks now, pretty basic setup that is not stock. I will save the fun for the MJ.
