  1. That's always cool. I've seen the same blue one around my house a few times recently and have thought about following them to a stop and talk to them but always had somewhere to be. Gotta love seeing MJ lovers out there on the streets
  2. it looks like the front has pass. side offset too or is it just sitting upside down and would work just fine
  3. Looks to be in decent shape. Whats wrong with it? Not a bad price either way
  4. Not if you don't drive in the dark :brows:  License plate mount http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Accessori ... l?feed=npn Lights http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Xenon-White- ... 2eb8de9a42 Touche. :fs2: Looks good though.
  5. Beautiful view, except for that stupid prius
  6. What kind of license plate mount is that? and how are you putting a light on it? I also live in VA and know we have to have it lit.
  7. Update on project: Havent done much since buying that XJ. Been slowly doing the small things on that to resell it. However, last night I tested the 4wd that I just had fixed and slid down a hill in my woods into a tree :fs1: not too happy about it. Took the hatch off today and going to a JY to get a brand new used one tomorrow. Once that's back on and I finish up the other small things, shes gone. Been too much of a headache to keep it. And then finally I'll be back to the MJ.
  8. I need to learn how to weld myself. I have a buddy that only lives a couple miles away do all mine but he just got a job a little over an hour away startin up in a week or so and will mostly be on my own. He already promised me to help me with my long arm build  so I won't be on my own for that at least.
  9. :agree: only main difference in those is radial vs bias
  10. I'm another one thatd love to see a pic of them on the rear of the MJ. If I ever put flares on, these are looking pretty sweet and may be the lucky ones.
  11. Yes! Yesterday we tied record highs here in central Virginia. Had to stop the wood stove for the first time since we started it months ago since it's so warm. I want snow.
  12. ^ do that or just go ahead and drop a couple hundred on the tom woods and not have to pay for another one again. All of my friend's have tom woods shafts and they love them. Never had problems with them and even if they did it would be fixed for free. IMO I wouldnt but a parts jeep just for the shaft, seems like a little much, but if you can fine cheap shafts at the JY, go for it
  13. :hmm: Now I'm trying to remember what it looked like when I mounted mine. I guess I will have to check it when I get home from work to ease my mind.
  14. I don't think mine sits at a weird angle. It seems to be where its supposed to and it bolted right up.
  15. Not sure why that doesnt work. Does it still light the lighter? It could just be bad connections. Ive had problems with the cig lighter powering things in the past. Might just need to replace the socket.
  16. That is was I was referring to. I was unclear to the original question about it springing back up.
  17. Thats odd. Mine came with the brackets creatively mounted to the bumper. He had put a wood 2x4 between the 2 spots where the brackets go and the brackets were connected to that flush up against the bumper so they werent sticking way out. I'm pretty sure its just I'm making these, maybe another person or two so I was patient with the bumper. And the hardware was about a week later arriving at my house. has this been verified? i always thought that there was no difference between SWB and LWB bumper brackets. and i like the bumper after the mods to the width were made. otherwise it seems like they didnt even measure the actual width when they made it. I can't help you as far as if they are the same or not. Not sure what the LWB mounts look like. It seems like they are the same since you don't specify which one you have when youre ordering.
  18. WELL I GOT ONE OF THOSE..!?!?!?!? :hmm: Very nice. don't see too many of them. I won't bother fixing it since the aftermarket radio has one.
  19. The teeth on the gear that clicks could be worn out. That's what has happened to my MJ, the teeth are worn out and the pressure when applying the parking brake is too much for what's left of those teeth.
  20. I usually make the same sandwich everyday myself and can get kinda bored with it. I will try to go out to eat once a week or everyother week. If you like Chinese food, I have found these little cartons that you put in the microwave and 5 or 6 min later you have a great meal. No work needed. Just another option (they are extremely cheap at walmart  )
  21. Yes. It came with the brackets that attach to the frame rails and for the bumper I got he threw in the grade 8 hardware that I needed. Be careful when taking off old bumper brackets, it does reuse holes and I stripped off one head so I only have 5 bolts holding the bracket to the frame. But that will be enough for what I want it for and I could always add more in the future.
  22. Welcome. Looks great. The paint doesnt look terrible in the pics for a cheapie but maybe it's worse in person. Even with no rust as you say, check under the carpet just incase. What are your plans with this truck?
  23. Not at all. 5 more minutes with your preferred metal cutting tool and the front chunk would be gone. All of the XJ guys I have seen do this have taken the box to the wheel well for complete coverage, which makes sense if you are going to be playing in the rocks. Thanks for the info. Not too many rocks to play on where I wheel. Guess we'll see what happens once I start cutting. I saw you used 2x4 tube. I've seen some people use a 2x6 tube. Money influenced choice? or just what you thought was best for your truck
  24. beautiful paint :clapping:
