Horrific Torture Of A 4.0, Warning: Extremely Graphic
86customanche replied to ftpiercecracker1's topic in The Pub
I can't decide if thats awesome or terrible. Its sad that they would treat such an amazing truck like that. But then again, awesome showing of how tough these guys really are. Dogged the hell out of it and still going hard. -
Happy turkey day to everyone. Doesnt get much better than great food, family, and football. Very thankful to have them all available to me today.
-
That would be great if you took lots of pictures. The easier it looks, the more likely Ill scrap my XJ project and use it for my upgrade on my MJ
-
i would just put manual doors when I do the swap. But I'm considering parting out my 98 xj and it has power windows, so the doors are already here. I was hoping it would be something like just wire the power for the windows to an ignition power wire and ground anywhere. Why can't it be that simple? Seems like it should be

Yes, which episode? Ive seen them all and I have noticed they do like putting old cars and trucks in the background. I always look for a old jeep but havent seen one yet.
-
Is it possible to put some 97+ doors on and use the power windows without too much more wiring? Electrical work is not my favorite and I'd like to avoid as much as possible but I am considering putting some 97+ doors with power windows and locks on my mj and wanted to know if it was a good idea. I know the hinges and strike plates are different too.

Ive seen that movie way too many times as well, And I'm the kind of guy that notices random stuff in movies that the normal person shouldnt notice. Yet, this has slipped my eye, impressed, and now I want to watch it to see it for myself.
-
Yea that might be my problem too. I don't think anyone that Ill be going with knows how to use a camera  so it may just be a bunch of other jeeps, which isnt all bad. I will do my best to get some of mine, assuming I get what needs to be done to pass inspection so I can make the 1.5 hr drive.

Finally got around to replacing my parking brake pedal today. The original one stayed sometimes, maybe 10% of the time, and was getting annoying so I installed the one that I had taken out of my 86 that is now at the scrap yard. Works great.

Comanche Spotted On University Of Southern Mississippi Campus
86customanche replied to RyanL's topic in The Pub
I agree with Rob. VIN #s are right there to be seen by anybody, yeah maybe not as visible as a plate is, but right there none the less. Its all about keeping track of these old, rare trucks. If I were some MJ owner that just had one and wasnt a member here(thank god I'm not one of those) I would be happy for someone to come look and admire my 20+ year old vehicle. It'd make me proud and possibly more interested in the rest of the bunch. -
My buddies and I are planning a trip to GW national forest around Christmas time and was wondering if any of yall have info about closed trails or new trails. We went a couple times a year before we all left for college and now that we have real jobs its been tough, but we want to make the trip. And if anyone is in the area, come do some wheeling with us.

...and much less of an issue making them turn

Rear Bumper Ideas And Opinions
86customanche replied to Southpaw26's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yea good point. It is cool to see that somebody else approves of what Ive done. I'm happy with the bumper, the only complaint would be the holes for the receiver and the d-rings are too small for the normal sized pins that I have. I either have to find a pin thats smaller or drill out the hole. -
Rear Bumper Ideas And Opinions

umm that is quite the link for me to click on. That is my truck in that pic. I bought that bumper from Nate last year and painted it myself with some rattlecan black and I guess somehow Nate got the pic and used it. I feel honored. Theres my original pic. Very strange to see one of my pictures on the web when I didnt put it there. -
apparently the city of Denver has had it legal for a few years and now the whole state as joined in. Its been some time coming for something like this to pass. They ought to make it federally legal and tax it and make a f*** ton of money off of it.
-
Damn that looks like a lot of work. Taking stumps out is never fun by hand (I know from experience) but that grinder looks sweet. Do you have a pic of the house once all the remains have been removed?

Comanche Of The Month - November 2012
86customanche replied to Automan2164's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
congrats! :rock on: -
:shake: thats terrible. Wrangler wouldve had a better chance for sure. Still not the best way to get across
-
Not liking that hitch on top their either. But I also get why they put it there, gives just a little more angle of clearance than if it was underneath. Looks great otherwise tho IMO. Love the roundness and the daimond plates
-
thats terrible. whered the boats go?
-
Probably won't be too much wind, not like that damned derecho (or whatever) brought us in VA. Pretty sure I'll lose power at home and our date for the install on our new Never Dark generator isnt until next week. :fs1: We did need this rain big time though
-
ive about been done til next year for a few weeks. Since that terrible infield fly call helped end my Braves season, I've somewhat boycotted baseball. Is it April yet?

That's the coolest pumpkin I've ever seen. Halloween will be my 1 yr anniversary at my job, hard to believe it's already here.
