  1. Finally! A september COTM! :rotf: I know its been a busy month for the people behind this beautiful new site, but glad to see a worth half-month COTM. Very well done.
  2. Not a bad thought comanchekid. I park my MJ out under the trees most of the year due to driveway space limitations and for awhile I had a tarp over the windshield to stop the rain from getting in. A nice cover would certainly look a little better since it's the first thing you see when you drive up to the house.
  3. :rotf: beautiful
  4. Drove it through the woods behind my house for the first time in a month or so. Real dry, just stretching her legs really. Makes me want to start wrenching again
  5. Either one would work. Just up to you to make the decision. At this point I feel like we just need something to fill in the time so that we don't have a completely blank month. How will the calendar work for 2013 with no COTM for September??????? RC or CoMansion. Both are very nice options.
  6. I spotted 2 MJs today in a span of about 2 min. And then I pulled into the driveway and saw a third  The first was a long bed with a shell, some lady was loading something into it, they both looked good. And the second made the turn with me on the road right after I saw the first, it looked to be a shortbed, couldn't tell what else on either of them. Both were red. Clearly it has been a good day for me; got to see 2 comanches on the road, and drove mine through the woods with my dad and his ranger after dinner.
  7. Never been a fan of crossovers, but I do get why they are made. And the 4x4 world is not included in that. They are for the soccer moms who want something that can handle a little snow on the roads. The all-wheel drive crap isnt made for off the pavement.
  8. Just took this puppy to the scrap yard on Friday. It was a sad day, but got me just over $200. All in all, the truck made me money after buying it for under 500.
  9. hahaha :rotfl2: I had a similar thing happen to me in my DD except I replaced the cluster for one with 30k fewer miles. I went to check when my oil was done and it looked as if I drove backwards some 20000+ miles
  10. just checkin in on how they cab top has gone. Curious if yall have gotten it put together yet and would love to see pics of it while in progress if you have any.

  11. not trying to get off topic, but love that chop 2dr. and the mj of course :agree:
  12. pretty neat. is it one of those pull-back and goes or just a roller
  13. good idea jim. Thank you to all who put in the work. It looks great..might take a few days to get used to it. :clapping:
  14. Is that another MJ in the background there with a 97+ conversion?
  15. I kinda like that one. But the green gladiator concept pic is my favorite. Seems like it would almost have the versatility of a JK but more of a truck than the mopar kit. I'm tired of waiting for Jeep to make up their damn mind :fs1:
  16. Ok I take back what I said. Now that Ive looked at allpar and the pics that I can't see in johnny quest's post, those are hideous. But then again, most concepts are ugly and are changed slightly before releasing. So for me, the jury is out and I will wait and see what actually happens before getting too angry.
  17. skidoo and backdraft have it right. Since you want to run speakers through the amp, they will not be hooked directly to the deck anymore. The decks have built in amps that kind of power the speakers but a seperate amp will be much much better. Just more work to be done. My suggestion is to get some aftermarket speakers that you like, then get an amp that is rated to power those speakers appropriately, then go to town wiring it.
  18. ive wanted that truck in the pic since i first saw it a few years ago. Who knows what they will actually decide. I will definitely take a good hard look at whatever truck they come out with, assuming they go that direction.
  19. much better looking now
  20. :agree: them things are tough as nails. You could get another 100k out of it with a knock. I have a cherokee with a knock and havent once thought about replacing the motor. Its kind of a f-it til it dies thought, but seems to run good enough.
  21. I would totally drive one of those. I will not drive a Smart Car. Last week's Top Gear challenge was between the Smart, the Fiat 500, and the Scion IQ. The "loser" had to drive the Trident for a whole day in his hometown and Rutledge Wood drew short straw. It was hilarious. :rotfl2: I saw that episode. Quite funny. I like how he drove it everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Into the coffe shop, grocery store, and even to his mother's living room. I wouldn't be caught dead in a smart car
  22. I got to see Old Faithful, pretty sweet. Not the biggest but rather amazing to think that it is so dependable. We did get lucky and see another geyser just off some road in the park that had to be close to twice as tall as Old Faithful. Now that was an amazing sight, pulled off on the side of the road to watch. Also had to wait to keep going along the road at another spot because bison were crossing.
  23. Well I finally finished replacing the head gasket in my 98 cherokee. Its the same motor so I thought I'd enlighten everyone. It was much easier than I expected, never tried anything this deep before. Only took about 1:45 to take the head off with help of a buddy who had done this once before. And boy was the head ugly. One of those has about an inch of fluid sitting on it. I forgot to snap a pic of the head while it was off but it wasn't pretty. Rust on the first to rockers and a whole lot of nasty crap in general. Got it resurfaced and cleaned and a week later I was back at it to finish the job. Took longer to put it back together, ran into a few reach/bolt issues. But what Jeep job isnt full of them. Just thought I'd share my eventful past 2 weekends. Much better to spend a few hours and about 200 bucks than pay a shop 1200 to do the same.
