  1. The WJ arms have a bend in them which gives more clearance.
  2. That's looking good. I really need to get going on my cage, I hoped to get it done before I go to Naches but I'm running out of time.

An MJ trip would be awesome. unless your # has changed I should still have it, I will have to send you a text sometime.

    NAXJA NW Fest

Its technically a red letter only event but each member is allowed a guest so my brother and I could get a couple rigs in if you want in on the event, or you could just go red letter. There is a NW fest thread on NAXJA's main forum and a few threads in the NW Chapter area with more info. Either way Naches will be open to anyone and you could probably even be in on most of the event, I'm just not sure about the BBQ and raffles and such. It would be sweet to do some wheeling with you.
  5. Didn't get any pics but I finally got around to pulling the donor engine and all the wiring for the swap. Not sure how soon I will be able to do the swap but at least I'm a step closer.

June 21-23 @ Naches again this year.
  7. Anything that replaces the stock carrier. Theres lots of options but basically anything that's not considered a lunch box locker.
  8. Even if you beef up the axles the D30 center section will never be as strong as a D44. Remember the axle is only as strong as its weakest link,If you go to chromoly shafts you might not break shafts but you will run the risk of stripping out ring gears especially being on 37s. If you do keep the D30 make sure you get a full case locker like an ARB and a beefy diff cover, this will help with gear deflection.
  9. He said the guy had a wrangler, it wouldn't be so bad if it went to a Jeep family.
  10. I've had lots of escorts over the years, still own 3 EXPs. They are decent cars, I had a 99 that I beat the crap out of for several years, I only had to replace a wheel bearing, alternator, and a battery. I would have no problem buying one for a work car.
  11. Thanks to our great military he has the right to his opinion, I just wonder what would make someone feel that way.
  12. Apparently not everyone respects what our military does. This was posted on NAXJA by a CC member. I was in the military so this upset me a bit.
  13. The entire samurai has a perimeter cage around it the you can't see, the flairs are attached to it and it ties through the rig from side to side and through an internal cage. That's why I said it was a hybrid exo, the exo portion is around the body but it uses an internal cage in case of a roll over. All the tube on the sammy is 1.5" and 1.75" .120 wall
  14. Here's an album on the samurai the pics aren't in order but you should be able to get an idea of how we did it. Its has a perimeter cage all the way around/through it blended into the body then the flairs are built off of it.
  15. Gonna need a bigger garage.
  16. The samurai is pretty cool,it has a hybrid exo cage blended into the body. Most people can't tell its there.
  17. It was spread out over a month or so since the customer wasn't in any hurry. If we worked on it everyday it probably took under a week to build.
  18. I can't take all the credit, it was a joint effort with my brother. Usually he says how he wants to do it then I say how I want to do it then we argue for a while till we come up with something.
  19. You don't know how hard it was to resist just putting frame rails in the exo and making a buggy out of it.
  20. That one was about $3500 with paint and everything. I also painted the truck while everything was apart.
  21. Thanks, it turned out pretty good.
  22. As far as I know all that stuff is stock on mine.
  23. We had a similar rig in the shop a while back. Its Yota cab sitting on a dodge ramcharger chassis with a 318 and a 4spd sitting on 42" tires.
  24. Not sure but here is an option. http://comancheclub.com/topic/4356-gauge-swap-little-help-please/
  25. You do realize that you quoted me and said basically the same thing on this same thread back in march? I guess it depends how your buying the cluster, if I'm at a junkyard I will check all the XJs as nothing seems to be a rule with Jeep. But if I'm buying online with limited information I will look for what I know will work.
