  4. :shake: Its still a 4.0 that has 600k rounds on it. Pretty amazing and the body of Jeep is still in what looks to be great shape.

    CJ-10 pickup:

    I used to own a CJ-10a tug..Neat little rig, L6 diesel engine, allison trans, transfercase locked in low range, 2wd, D70 rear, HEAVY! About 6500 lbs.. Ended up trading it away. Never ran when I had it, parts extremely expensive and the parts it needed where obviously taken off before I got because they have value.

  10. My 2000 with the 242 has been doing the exact same thing for the 3 years I had it. I just back up usually it pops into 2wd. I never been too concerned about it I guess...

  12. I have had okay luck using a "engine foam" degreaser and using a garden hose to clean the engine. You put the stuff on a warm engine, let it sit for a bit, then hose it off. Personally i just spray it, but some guys are careful, covering up sensors and such. Simple green works for smaller areas or something to follow up on the engine foam. Engine Brite is the name of the engine foam.

    The MPGs will go up a lot after the engine breaks in too. Mine brought the suck until it hit 80K. I now get 18 CTY and 23 HWY. Winter blend does not help at all either. Go to Wally World and pick up some Cetane Booster. That will help as well. Truck has 97k right now. I use power service every tank.

    currently 13mpg empty on winter fuel :ack: hopefully it gets better then that this summer. but i drive the wyomanche in the summer so i guess it does not really matter. :yes: diesel #1 is 4.00/gallon here too.

    You guys are stuck in the past about Mopar Autos. The 68rfe is just as good or better then the Allison in the chevy! I would have loved to have a manual but they are so rare up here its crazy. Plan is full delete, H&S programer, race exhaust with muffler.. Also, if it interests you, go check out what all the high performance diesel guys are running. No manuals for them because they can build an automatic trans stronger then you can build a manual trans. Besides a auto is better for pulling in that you do not loose your turbo boost.
