  4. Well this week I have been thinking how cool it would be.. Old Full Size Jeep truck, don't really matter what year, as long as its got the grill from the 60s. Yep 12 valve cummins with some goodies. Rockwells 8 in stacks rollbar atlas 4-speed 49 in IROKS or 54 Baja TTC. Rediculous yes. Totally crazy, yes. This could be built for under 10k probably. Tires would cost more then probably the truck and the engine, and as long as you didnt splurge on the atlas.... Honestly, what would this rig be good for? I hate mud, this thing would be so huge to drive threw the tight trails of the upper midwest. I would use it for running the spruce swamps up here in the wintertime. That would be its only use probably. Think project "Hot Dog" from JP mag past, but with a Cummins!
  5. Local game warden will come take care of it for ya.
  6. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=27594 Another thread..more info about the MJ with the tent camper thing...
  7. Are you famililar with how a Grant in Aid snowmobile trail works? (Many of our 13k miles of snowmobile trails in MN are Grant in Aid and sponsered by a club) With the Grant in Aid program, a program funded by the state, the trail must be sponsered by a club. Saying that now, the club is responsible for upkeep and maintenence for the life of the trail. This is a single trail. It runs through natural terrain about 3.5 miles into the woods with many loop sections and "bypasses." The club (Northern MN Jeepers) have been working with governing agencies since 1997 to get the opportunity to do this. As you know we do have the IROVRA (Iron Range Offhighway Vehicle Rec Area) up here. This is a "park." It is run by the MNDNR, and they have full time employees working there. The Mesabi Mountain Trail does not have anything to do with the park. Totally seperate deal. We (as a club and at a personal level) have a good relationship with the folks that work/run the Gilbert OHV area. They have stepped in and lent a hand with the construction of the trail at time with heavy equipment and whatnot. To tell ya the truth, I do not know when the Grant in Aid program stepped in and said that this new trail could be sponsered by the Grant in Aid Program. We have a club member that was employed by the MNDNR for his whole working career and that might have helped with that, or coming up with the idea for the GIA program for a ORV trail. You have a pm whowey.
