1988 Pioneer. Have since put on turbine wheels and tailgate and taken off the stupid chrome flying skull thing. 4.0 / AW4/ D35 / LWB Build date: Current Location: Region will do, state, and area of state. Status: Sittin in my backyard. It runs but needs some attention. Notes: Dark Blue exterior with tank interior. Pleather bucket seats. Does not have headliner. Sliding window, though not sure if window is original. Floor shift. Rusty but body is pretty straight except bed. No rust AFAIK. PS and AC. No PW/PL. Did not have tailgate; I had to find one to put on it. Had some hackjob wiring. I haven't added any crappy wiring either  B-pillar lights didn't work; one missing. I managed to clean one up enough to work. Added footwell lights. Current owner: I am.

Would it work against us if more than 1 person sent emails?

Will it make me a bad person to say that I like it?

Dang, I'm late to the party. Happy belated!`

I see no reason you couldn't use a hitch with it as well. I agree. The bumper/receiver is probably stronger than any bolt on hitch for our trucks. There are very few bumper mounted receiver hitches sold that are specifically tow-rated for Jeeps. Liability reason I suppose. Just make sure to get safety chain hooks welded on. Kind of seems reasonable to have a complete bumper (tow chain hooks and license plate mounting) to be included with a $500 bumper.

THanks. Do you know if they offered the two tone in every color? My truck is (mostly) dark blue, but I like the look of the two tone. I'd like it to be re-painted according to the factory options.
-
Did Jeep produce any factory paint schemes other than all 1 color? I've seen some pictures of MJs with two colors but not sure if it was factory. I am dreaming of repainting my MJ in the future and was just wondering what factory options there were.

There is lots of lulz on NAXJA sometimes.

Did you ever do the LED strips under the bedrails? -
Do you have any pics of this?

My wife and I originally bought a pop up but the canvas was toasted so we bought a 70's era Shasta camper with the intention of fixing it up. Ended up selling it due to other priorities. Link to Pics

My MJ has only broken down twice. Both times from it not being maintained properly. This was early in my ownership. Since I've started working on it, it hasn't broken down at all, even though it's not in as great shape as it should be.

1990 4.0 auto TPS adjustment?????
bigalpha replied to gl1200aman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What do you do if you adjust the TPS while the truck is running but the idle still isn't normal? Replace the TPS? -
The thread about what you should pull of an MJ if you come across it at the yard. Did the thread have prices on what the average sale price is?

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier; I didn't know I had a PM. Glad you could use the parts. I thought about pulling the rear axle but didn't know if it'd be worth my time.

There's an MJ at my local junkyard. Bed is in terrible shape as is the tailgate. Has flares and rear axle and such. Truck is located at the Queen City Salvage in Clarksville, TN.

Temp Sensor making hard start
bigalpha replied to ryno1121's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I believe that the t-stat sensor is for the computer and the back of the head is for the gauge in the cluster. -
This happened to me - I was holding a wrecked XJ for a buddy and got busted because it was in open storage, inoperable and not tagged. I thought it was ridiculous that you can't park a vehicle with no plates in your own damn yard.

What's the best way to level out a truck with stock suspension that rakes forward? Install a spacer under the front coils?

I'm a pretty spiteful person, so I'd throw a block party and hang up a banner that said "Suck It".

I read about that CT murder a while back and it's completely insane. I feel terrible for the father. I know that if I was in that position, I'd have a hard time not strangling the XXXX out of the guy in court.

I really like my MJ and XJ, but my real passion in life is Ultimate. I told my (now) wife when we first met that I don't really do too much and I don't have a lot of expensive hobbies .. but I will always play Ultimate. I've been known to play 4-5 times a week. Even my family knows this and I have missed family functions to play. Now, when I tell her I'm driving to Nashville (45min) to play, she either has the option of coming along or doing her own thing. I get no complaints. Moral of the story: what ever girl you start dating, you gotta be up front with her about your addiction. If she really likes you, she'll put up with it and stay with you.

If the 02 sensor is bad it can cause the engine to run rich. Well, can this cause a high idle issue too?
-
You can if you adjust the the small allen screw that holds the throttle plate from hitting the TB when it closes. The PO of my truck did this when it stalled on him.

Throttle Position Sensor?
bigalpha replied to kawaboy13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So if you unplug the TPS and the IACV, the truck should idle lower (assuming it's idling high)? My MJ idles strangely and when I unplugged these two things, the idle didn't change.
