  1. Can't wait to see what happens, hope you are still working on this.
  2. Nice work I like the detailed descriptions.
  3. My paint job took about 6 months if I remember correctly. LOTS of calls, stopping by to check on it and pushing him. If I knew it was going to be a side project for the shop I would have never takin it there. Much frustration indeed. My friend on the other hand has waited 18 months so far to get his car painted!!! (He quoted him 7 months) He is doing a great job though at his house after hours. If that was a shop doing his car he would have a lawyer on his doorstep. Why are paint and body guys so crooked? O, I know! Because their bread and butter what pays the bills is quick bump and paint jobs for the crooked insurance companies that pay fast and are guaranteed work, unplanned. Word for the wise anyone who wants their car painted make sure to set a deadline and what will happen if the deadline isn't met. Excuses are for loosers that don't stand by their integrity!!!
  4. Well the kitchen remodel is almost complete, time to get the Comanche back out of storage to pull the engine and take it off to the machine shop to find the mystery ticking. So if you browsed the pictures of the crooked rockers has anyone had any luck with the roller rockers? I don't know if they will fit under the cast aluminum valve cover. I have also read a horror story where someone didn't notice they were hitting the top of the valve cover and destroyed their engine. I am going to have them go through the whole thing to tell me exactly what parts are in the engine. Pricy I expect but the piece of mind is priceless.

    Chromebook

Great thread! My parents are retired and travel most winters. They continue to use the Microsoft Outlook for their mail even though I created them a Gmail account. They borrowed my sister's laptop and the real trouble is when they stop to their local McDonald's to use the wifi the battery is most always dead or close to it. That's the trouble with laptops, you need to be plugged in continously to use them on a day to day basis. I would love to buy them a Chromebook but the only question is once the 16gb of internal flash memory is used up you rely on the cloud. The cloud is great but you only get a limited useage and amount to use. After the "Trail" period is over do you have to continuously pay for more storage space on the net? If so it's like you are paying per month. I love the instant on and checking mail is faster than any laptop. It reminds me of our pricy iPad's but with a built in keyboard. Let me know how the cloud thing works. And did you buy it from Best Buy or order it online? I am asking because I used to work for Best Buy as a car stereo supervisor and a install supervisor and they are loosing TONS of business because people are using their store to touch and feel the item then going home to buy it online.
  6. The carfax report only shows the accidents/repairs etc. that are reported to a dealership or insurance company. The "Normal" repairs or accident related things go undisclosed so you really can't rely on this alone. Think of how many times you smashed up a car and just decided to fix it yourself? A keen eye of an auto mechanic AND a body man will result in a good purchase along with these "feel good" pieces of paper.
  7. Wow, it's always something. That's just one more reason NOT to buy the newest thing out until they get the bugs worked out. I'd rather not be the first one on the block with that brand new vehicle (IN THE SHOP)!!! I love the new 3.6L just because of the new technology that comes along with it, just give it time and a chance to prove itself. Ya know, you could be stuck with that doggy 3.7L or the minivan 3.8L in your Jeep! By the way I love my HEMI...
  8. Sweet... (In Eric Cartman voice)
  9. Very nice work!
  10. Wow that looks amazing love the color. Great work!!
  11. Eww, if it were me I'd replace the tank, I'm sure it's rusted out from the inside too. Great find!
  12. I like the old rims better, make sure they get a good home. Nice looking truck, love the 86's.
  13. Maybe they are buying their way out of debt. That's the American way right? Going bankrupt just buy everything in sight now and stash it because everything else you worked really hard for will be taken away.
  14. Probably a fancy keychain... lol
  15. This build thread gets more exciting every minute, keep us posted on all the vehicular juggling, this is entertainment.
  16. Do I have to drive down again for a visit to see what'cha up to?
  17. Great build love the progress!!
  18. Sweet!!! My '99 XJ the wife calls Bucky because of the headlights crossed made her think of it as buck toothed. Like Mater on Cars.
  19. My ebay account was hacked recently, I tried to log on and it asked me to change my password. When I clicked on the change password it took me to an unrestricted site that the antivirus picked up as a threat. I called ebay and they said someone hacked my account and tried to sell a John Deere tractor so they wiped the selling fees and closed their account and suspended mine. What a mess, I had to change my user name and password and my email account because of it. Luckily they never stole money from my account while they were in there.
  20. Great story, keep it up.
  21. You should be able to get to the freeze plug from underneath. I had one leaking and I replaced it by removing the airbox and getting it from under the truck. Assuming it's not the one in the head on the back of the motor.
  22. I never heard of Raptor, looks sweet!! I loved those CB days, too easy with cell phones now and so personal.
  23. The green grill looks way better.
