  1. Every once in a while I forget why I bought my MJ so I come here and read your build again... amazing. :-)
  2. Na.. Not for a jeep. I still think the 4.0 is one of the beat motors ever.
  3. 4.0 .. The only engine a Jeep should have :-)
  4. You're correct sir. Habit from mine being a 98 : )
  5. Oh pre 98 are just cheaper. Make good off road beaters. Can pick up one for $400-$600 and there are 10 or more in every junk yard in town for spares. I was actually thinking the same think on the rear. I was going to go with D44 narrow track, The 4" RE lift I have from my XJ using a combo of the RE leafs and the metric ton leafs.
  6. I wouldn't piss on a Ranger, Dakota or an S10 to put out a fire. Much less buy one for wheeling. I'd buy another XJ
  7. Even before I got into Jeeps I had always wanted to build a Comanche. I've always thought they are pretty amazing little trucks. Now that the time has come I am really unsure how I would like to proceed. Id like a little input on the wheels turning in my head. So I have my 88 base MJ. I also still have a 03 WJ limited 4x4. I bought the WJ with the plan to sell it for the profit to help build the MJ. As the WJ get closer to sell time (I had a good bit of fixing to complete) she starts to grow on me and everyone else in the house (not that I care what they like lol). My original build plan was to build a "Daily/Tow truck" Sell WJ. Do complete 98+ conversion with via a parts truck. 4" lift. Frame braces to help with towing. Big brake, Paint. A simple and clean truck. Then get another XJ pre 98 gut it and wheel it.... simple plan. I really had no plans to wheel my MJ because its clean, no body damage, no rust. Also the towing that needs to be done would be said XJ (MJ towing an XJ) The problem.... Now I'm thinking that no matter what I do the WJ will always be a better "Daily drive" option and will always tow more. Maybe... just buying a pre 98 parts jeep for the axles and drive line would be easier and cheaper. But without selling the WJ I have to use pay day money and that means time... options options options... So what do you guys think?? Daily MJ and XJ for wheeling or Daily WJ and slow build the MJ.. ??
  8. Hey thanks man! Where in FL do you live?
  9. Yea its pretty nice, I'm very stoked to have it. What did you search on Ebay? I tried every form of tank or sender I could think of. I'm just not finding anything.
  10. Yea man, that's the one. Was up for $1100 then $799 i think.. As as far as what I'm doing now I'm really not sure. I haven't even though about a tank and sender package.. I found a company online that a few other Comanche guys recommended. This company claims that they can rebuild any sender unit. I sent some pictures and information on mine and they say they can't rebuild it with a lifetime warranty for 149. I work at an semi dealership so I was thinking about taking the tank out and taking it to work and putting it on our tank flush machine. I'm not sure that its up to the task of handling that much gunk but it might. I can also give it a hot bath. The future of this pick up truck is very uncertain. When I first got it I thought myself that it was way too clean to take wheeling. Now my mind is starting to change a little. As much as I'd love to see it returned to factory condition it's just not that much fun that way. I already have a complete 4.0 swap, as well as the rest of that 99 XJ.. Maybe front and interior swap. I really don't know. It's so beautiful it's hard to molest.

    Fuel Sender

I'm looking for a sender assembly for my 88. Not sure if it matters but its a 2.5L
  12. Hey thanks a lot Rob. I'll do that.
  13. Whats up fellow Jeepers. :waving: My name is Lawrence and I'm a Jeepaholic. I've had quite a few Jeeps over that last 10 years but, I just got my first MJ. I've always wanted one, just never found one I wanted to buy. Well I found this beauty via a deal with a friend. He call me and said there was on he found for $500 and he would put up $100 cuz he wants the tailgate for his XJ (one of my old Jeeps) a few horrible pics later we went and got it. You will notice it still has its tailgate intact. Once I seen how clean it was there was no way in hell I was gonna let him take it to hack up. :shake: Needless to say I paid all $500 for it, and it cost me another $100 for a tailgate from a local junk yard to shut him up. So here it is. Pretty clean, no rust, dents, or scratches. Everything works.... well almost. Needs a fuel sender which turns out is hard as hell to find. Any help there would be much appreciated. Here is the poor sender, I think I'm going to have to flush the whole system.
