  1. http://www.allpar.com/SUVs/jeep/cherokee-transmission.html "I purposely mis-adjusted the cable to see what the shift points would be like with it way off. Not fun. Downshifts only when plastered to the floor. Now they back to about 2/3-3/4 throttle. Right where they should be. Torque converter lock-up was way off too, Most of the time it wouldn't lock up. Now it locks after steady throttle is reached and unlocks when more than a slight amount is applied. 2. I meant the linkage on the throttle body.
  3. 4 banger auto is just that. Moves like a 4 banger, with an auto. I imagine it's perfecr for just cruising around. Just as bulletproof as the 4.0L. Rob
  4. When was the last time you adjusted the trans linkage? Free, super easy, and worth a shot. Rob
  5. Are you sure that is roll bar padding, and not just part of a pool noodle? Marcel, re-read what he wrote. Rob
  6. $300 for a running MJ that looks to be free of rust and just needs a little TLC? I don't get the question here... Did I miss something? Rob

  9. That puts you out of the running for last of. The last was rumored to have been produced in May of '92. From Jan 1st, '92 to end date, there were only 952 made. Yours came out early in the build year. Still, it is a '92, which is rare, and an Eliminator at that. A clean one to boot. Nothing to be ddisappointed about there. Rob
  10. Welcome to the club! Any chance the drivers door tag is still legible? We've been trying to track down the last MJ, and the build date on the door, or the last 6 of your VIN would tell us the ballpark of where you stand. Rob
  11. At the point that your truck is in, floors would be a push. Whoever buys it is going to just be after a cheap beater or hauler to get around or do work with. In my honest opinion, anyone looking at a truck of that condition would be just as happy cutting a piece of plywood and laying it under the carpet. As an example, I looked at an '89 a couple months back. Took some pics, asked some questions, and posted it here... http://comancheclub.com/topic/38357-1989-sportruck-25lax5d35-165k-ilwi-border-1600-obo/ I ended up convincing a coworker to take a look at it for his brother. He liked it a lot, and offered $1000. Seller wouldn't budge off $1200, so he just ended up paying that because he didn't want to keep looking. For yours, there are just so many other dimensionally similar trucks that may be in the same shape. Unless you get someone really hard up for an MJ, the price you are shooting for will be tough to get. It has a lot of strikes against it. Base model, 2wd, stick, pretty beat. It's a lot easier to overlook than if it were the same shell with a 4.0L, AW4, and 4x4... Rob
  12. Tried earlier, link no worky. Rob
  13. Around here (Also in the rust belt) that would be in the $600 price range, +/- $250. The condition of the body is really what does it. Rob
  14. Wow. One statement made, and that is the reaction. The truck is 25 years old. It's going to have some rust somewhere. Be it the floors, or any of the other usual spots. Not rot, but rust. Even my Virginia truck had a rust hole in the floor. My Cali truck has rusty wheel arches. I bet he has all sorts of people chomping at the bit to buy with that attitude posted. Even worse, he posted the link that someone sent him with his over the top response. I would have used it as a reason to come on here, prove the value of the truck on the thread to wow us, and then linked it. Probably would boost the sale. Rob
  15. I would love to call his bluff on the '100% Rust free' statement. Rob
  16. Looks cleaner than most around here. That's at least worth what he's asking since it doesn't have fist sized rot holes and more rust than body color. Rob
  17. Spell check isn't working for me, but that's about it. Latest version of FF. Rob
  18. Any of the seasoned veterans recognize this as Superwade2's truck? Rob
  19. Renix overheating and the owner replaced a bunch of cooling parts? Sounds like someone just needs to bleed it properly and they could have a nice truck for a steal. Rob
  20. I would first try replacing it with a known good unit. I would bet it's just the radio itself, which should be pretty cheap at the local JY since not many people are looking for a stock replacement. Rob
  21. Judging from my Inbox lately... There are some interested parties wanting to know how to make the cut. Since I imagine that the few that asked aren't the only ones, I'll put out some of the criteria for the masses. 1. Build Thread. Build Thread. Build Thread. If you don't have a build thread here, or at least picked one up here after starting it somewhere else, you need to have one. We can't pick your truck if we don't know what kind of details or how hard you've been working on it. 2. Be a generally nice member, obviously, the nicer, more friendly, helpful you are, the more you are noticed. 3. Must have some reasonable number of post counts. But let's be honest, if you have a build thread, and you are contributing, your count will most likely be in the 200's at a minimum. 4. Unique trucks are easier to stand out, or doing something out of the norm. While few and far between, the Land Speed Record truck, a Tribute truck... Things like that stand out for obvious reasons. There are other things taken into consideration, but the 4 here pretty much sums it up for what we may look for. Rob
  22. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=e26_1370392445 Even a Waggy! Rob :fs2:
  23. I bought Monroe Sensa-tracs. After all the research I did on the forums, it seemed to be the best budget shock replacement for a factory style ride. Rob
