  1. Does it have a locker ? If not I would check the leaf spring bolts and bushings that go through the frame and the axle u bolts for tightness . Also check to make sure that you don't have a cracked leaf spring . If none of that works might be spider gears in the differential .
  2. Somebody correct me if they think this won't work . But how about using a diesel remote start ? Some of the better remote starts have the option to allow the glow plugs to warm up before it starts to crank the engine over . And couldn't you advance the CPS or buy a high altitude cps to start it a bit quicker also ?
  3. 91 Comanche 2707 original miles 4.0 4x4 grey interior original tires . Can seem to get the link posted on here . Located at Daviesjeep.com $5,800
  4. I have one that's 99 % perfect but the cloth is a different color . Pm me if you're interested
  5. I understand my diff is not in the middle but the passenger axle only goes to the cad ,not the diff . Can anyone tell me for sure yes or no?
  6. Dave92cherokee any Idea if I could put a drivers side on the passenger side ? Are the lengths and splines the same . I figured I might be able to put newer shafts on the older axle and I know the cad is hated but ultimately if I can just do that it would be the best for me .
  7. My 88 Comanche with the cad dana 30 axle has a bad u joint on the passenger side . On the drivers side when the u joint went bad I installed a complete shaft with a cv joint due to the stub shaft being rusted away as is the pass side. But apparently I can't find anyone that makes one for the passenger side. What are my options ? It looks like the drivers side axle could possibly be the same length as the passenger is to the cad but I'm not sure if the splines are the same .I don't drive the truck in any bad weather so I don't use the 4wd but very few times so strength isn't an issue . Its also nice not to have the binding that you get with u joints . Thanks for any help .
  8. I'm not sure how it's in your state but when the insurance company pays you for a vehicle it becomes a salvage title . Then you have to have it state inspected once repaired for a rebuilt title . Anyhow I think that's fair .
  9. Never said that jeepco . Maybe a friend / family member would let him borrow one .
  10. Hey Rob iirc I believe the rental car goes against your claim . For example if the insurance company were going to give you say 5500 for your xj and the rental ends up costing 700 then you'll only get a check for 4800 . I would check to make sure if I where you .
  11. Oh yeah my appologies I forgot he's in co . thanks for putting me in my place lol.
  12. Hey moparman82 welcome to the club yellaheep is probably one of the best guys to ask in co . He probably has or has had every mj in co !!
  13. First off all glad to here youre doing "ok" . Second off all the damage doesn't look unrepairable and if you decide to buy it back off the insurance company I have a complete black front end in good shape should you need one . I use to work at a bodyshop and seen way worse get fixed . Worry about yourself, first then get the xj fixed . When you talk to the insurance company never tell them you feel fine as many symptoms can take awhile to surface . Never sign any checks until you are complete satisfied / compensated for medical bills / vehicle rapair costs . If you have any receipts of any improvements you've done to your xj recently those are a good bargaining chip to get a better settlement with the insurance company . Here in Ohio you can typically buy a vehicle back for a tenth of what it's book value is . Any other questions feel free to ask .
  14. I agree with you eagle I'm not a fan of lifts either but it's to "each his own " . I was using that as an example . I'm in Ohio an got a rust free roller from Az for 700 shipped and a complete running truck for 700 with very little rust . I bought another with 65k factory Dana 44 power windows locks and some rust for 100 bucks . There out there mj 33 take your time and find what you really want and I'm sure there are people on here to help you in your search.
  15. Do you have more info/ pics ? Seems like a lot of money but if he has a clean truck with a lift/ extras it might be worth it . It also depends where you live as vehicles out west are easier/ cheaper to come by and in the northeast are typically rust buckets .
  16. I think the exhaust had a part in the rust also as It probably created condensation in-between the rubber mat and floor
  17. Well if youre gonna junk it I'll bring my other "rusty " truck down to you well junk mine and I'll take that one off your hands .
  18. I did a quick check and found a new 8953005025 it's listed for an 89 xj/ mj but the listing says it's an 8953005428 is it superseded ? Or just an earlier computer ?
  19. I will be doing that asap Cruiser thanks for the vast knowledge and knowhow .
  20. Cruiser I've cleaned every connector under the sun when I put the truck together from scratch and it runs well but i would like the + 8hp and mine is an auto . Do I need to eliminate the c101 to put the newer ecu ?
  21. Do you have any for sale before I go to a jy? Mine is an 88 built in may so it probably has the less hp computer right ? Thanks Cruiser
  22. The offset looks different between the ranger rims and the one in the link so does the outer lip. I think the American racing inlines looked almost identical to the ranger rims .
  23. Those are not eliminator rims . Maybe street Comanche rims? Being I don't see many street Comanches I'm not sure though
  24. That would be great Fernando87mj . Thanks Adam
  25. Doesn't the sawsall get hot ? Wouldn't the bag restrict airflow and prematurely burn the motor up ? Good idea though .
