  1. I don't mind it. About the only thing to look forward to in March...
  2. Manuals are fun....until you get stuck in stop and go bumper to bumper traffic for three hours. Congrats on getting it running! Even after the numerous vehicles I have brought back to life I still get that special feeling when I hear the motor fire up.
  3. I should be able to snap some pictures this weekend.
  4. I have 3 of my vehicles up for sale on Craigslist and I have been having a difficult time selling each. However, early last week I had a fellow text me about my Z1000 for sale. I told him there potentially was another guy planning to come buy it on Saturday but I would certainly let him know if it fell through as he would be next in line. Saturday came and went and the potential buyer was a no-show so I let the 2nd guy know it's still available. We exchange texts and e-mails and he gets all of the details of the bike and seems satisfied with it. He shoots me an offer of $5,000. This was the same offer that the first (no-show) guy and I agreed on so I tell him that I'm good with that. He arranges to drive from Pittsburgh, PA to my place in MD (5 hour trip, one-way) the following day. That day arrives and he shows up right on time, looks the bike over and then says, "It's exactly as you described, I'll buy it...but would you accept $4500?" At this point I figure he's just trying to see if I'm desperate - I'm not. I laugh and tell him I will only accept our previously-agreed price of $5000. He tells me he only brought $4500 with him so he can't pay 5. He shows me that he has it in cash, all 100's. I tell him I could care less if he had cash, silver or gold coins - the price is $5000 and that's where I'm at. He tries to point out flaws in the bike - all of which were stated in my ad - as to why he can't pay the original offer. I finally just got fed up, told him thanks for coming down, but please get out of my garage and enjoy your 5 hour trip back home. He must have seen the expression on my face go from, "you're messing with me, right?" to "if you don't get the F out of here I'm going to rearrange your face" because he moved out of my garage with some haste and drove off into the sunset. I suspect he had another bike lined up in the area for $4,500 but thought if he could get me down to that price it would have been the better deal and he would have blown the other sale off. There's just no way I could see anyone driving that distance just to get shot down.
  5. Jim, I'd sell you my '92 but I'd be afraid that I'd wind up paying YOU $1500 to take it.
  6. I'm pretty sure the trim pieces still need to be modified a bit to fit the Euramtec lights. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

    Super Bowl

So what you're trying to say is that Ray Lewis now has as many Superbowl rings as he does murders? RAVENS!! !!!!!
  8. My current GF was not an OKcupid find, but there were at least 2 girls I found on there that I considered making long-term, but they were both too far away and I wasn't interested in a long distance relationship at the time. Figures that the current GF and I had a long distance relationship for 4 years before moving in together... From what I saw of OKcupid, it does its job fairly well.

If the glove don't fit, you must acquit.

    Super Bowl

I don't watch or read and mainstream media and really only listen to local news radio to and from work. The only Ray Lewis stuff I've been hearing is about him using banned substances to speed up his recovery. The local stuff has actually been a lot of anti-love for Ray. The media needs something to write about and Ray is probably the best news story for this Superbowl. The two teams in it are a small market (Ravens) and a Niners team that used to have a lot of fans when they were good, but it's been a while and I'm sure many of those have fallen off the bandwagon. I can understand why a lot of folks aren't very interested in it this year. Oh, and Ray was acquitted a long time ago :D
  11. I used one in the brief changeover from ex-GF to current. This was 5-6 years ago when there were only a handful out there. The one I used was OKCupid. It was certainly a convenient way to do a screening prior to going out on a date. Obsessive cat-lover women are batsheet crazy but you can count on getting some the first night out :D I agree that there are just too many out there...but they must be working to be able to spend the $$ in advertising that they do. Also, my last GF and current did not come from a dating site. I met both at college - which is the ultimate dating service, in my opinion.

Ravens! I'll be wearing my purple pants, shoes and jacket today at work. I'm about 45 minutes outside of Baltimore and the atmosphere is pretty crazy around here!
  13. Ah, well, the two-tone looks good! I assume you had the GF do the sewing? You know, because that's what they do... Right?
  14. The previous generation WK SRT-8 had a mean look to them. The WK2 SRT-8 just look like a standard model with fancy (and in my opinion, ugly) rims.
  15. I don't understand, what was wrong with the old seat covers?
  16. 35's and the worst attempt at de-badging a vehicle I have ever seen: Back on stockers and de-badge complete: Dodge put a dedicated turn signal and parking light circuit in for the pre-wired trailer harness. Each signal has their own relay and the parking lights also get their own relay. The only issue with this is that the trailer turn signal relays operate any time the turn signals go on - whether there is a trailer attached or not. They used a type of relay that was supposed to last something like 10 million uses, but they failed to live up to their expectations. Unfortunately, the trailer circuit relays are located inside the fuse panel, soldered to an internal circuit board so getting to them is somewhat of a treat: New relays on: Old relay internals: Still need to do ball joints and drop the pan on the transmission to replace a couple of solenoids inside. Drove it some this past weekend and the overhead console claims I'm pulling 22MPG on the highway - we'll see how close that is when I get a couple tanks of fuel inside.
  17. I hear ya. I just got the bill for filling my two 120 gallon tanks...at $2.95/gallon.
  18. Got a couple heat pumps on my house, too. Can't wait for this winter weather to pass through so I can go back to using them. Don't like to use them below 25 degrees and have to switch to propane heat ($$$$$$).
  19. Looks a lot like the '99XJ I picked up a few years ago: Front axle was bent: Threw a spare axle on it: I eventually threw a spare passenger fender on it and drove it for a few months. The inner fender well was pretty dented up, but I was able to use a BFH to straighten it out enough to get the fender holes to line up. It wasn't perfect, but it didn't affect how it drove. I didn't really need the XJ so I parked it, gutted it, used the interior for an MJ conversion and sold off the parts I didn't use. Wound up making a good deal of money on it since I only bought it for $500.
  20. If people are calling him to sell a vehicle, then they're desperate to get rid of it. Jim's got the upper hand before he even sees the truck. Your name is Jim, isn't it? Pretty sure Sir Sam's name is not Sam...so just making sure ;)
  21. I came home to a cold house last week and was scratching my head until I found the two 120 gallon propane tanks were bone dry. Strange, I just filled those up...gotta love an old house with single pane windows and drafty doors...
  22. Those look to be in significantly better condition than the ones I had and I was offered $50 for em. I think you can get a bill out of those, easy.
