  2. Its like Marilyn Monroe, Sofia Loren, Betty Page and Jayne Mansfield wrapped in one, except with red paint, cool wheels and nifty drop brackets but far, far sexier. :wrench:
  3. Even if they're not used at all in the operation, the show girls will come in handy anyway. :wrench:
  4. I hear you sir,,,,, besides the extreme drag link angle, that looks like a decent set up. But when the passenger side droops it will bind the the tie rod end. It may be stronger, but that set up gives no more passenger side travel than a stock set up.
  5. There is merit to the WJ hi-steering, much higher, and essentially no worries about the tie rod binding or busting the tie rod on obstacles. Even if you put near 1-ton tie rods on the stock kuckles, which are under the knuckle. Once you get above 3-4" of lift that passenger side knuckle tie rod will bind with a very minimal amount of droop. There is no 4"-6" lift that is worth its weight in salt if the passenger side tie rod remains under the knuckle.....FACT! If you put a lift higher than 3" on your MJ, do not remain under the knuckle,,,,,it will bind and eventually break with offroad use.
  6. 5K is a significant milestone and a testament to the members of the board. We need to keep up on the CC brotherhood's helpfulness and dedication to provide assistance to the rescue and continued maintenance of these vehicles. In the next few years, the day will soon come when we all will struggle to keep these trucks on the road. Its good to have a forum with so many friendly and helpful members dedicated to these awesome trucks. The MJ is the premier American small/mid sized truck. Long live the MJ!
  7. Heck, we've had a few pics, I'd be happy just to get a few more...... Mostly I'd like pics of the warehouse perimeter, a diagram of security camera coverage, I'll need to know the number of security guards and a map of where they walk their security sweeps and at what intervals. I'll need to know if they have a back up generator system - that will determine if a secondary EMP device will be necessary or not. We won't need firearms, we should be able to do this with tazers only, no harm will become the guards. I need someone to sneak into the city works department and get a map of underground sewage passageways, that could come in handy. We'll need at least three CC members manning tow trucks to quickly haul vehicles out of the way that are blocking in the T-Chief. Then we'll need to steal a full size enclosed car hauler, and once the security guards have been bound and gagged, we'll tow the other vehicles out of the way and pull it up into the car hauler. Another option, vs a straight on assualt style "snatch and grab", is to lure the security guards out of the facility with Vegas show girls,,,we might want to hire a few, they could come in handy and make the entire operation a lot easier. I'm currently accepting applications for this operation. PM me and list any extra skills that could come in handy during this heist. I swear by the last breath that enters and exits my lungs,,,,,this Thunderchief will be ours one day.
  8. Precious! You're a lucky guy!
  9. Yup, we had another thread about it awhile back. There's also the expansion Alpine Crawler World.
  10. Brother, why are you using WJ knuckles? Just want to know because I don't want to give you misleading info. What axle are you using, what are you trying to accomplish?
  11. No, the 3.7 is an engine that shares the same quality as pile of pure fermented frozen penguin poop.....gentlemen, stop kidding yourselves, the 3.7 is a weak half-hearted engine, its made for mild front wheel drive metro city type commuting mini-vans. Its an embarrassment to offroad vehicles. Also, safety standards did not kill the XJ. The XJ was the pet peeve of the new Chrysler CEO at the time (I forgot the name of the guy)...Killing the XJ was his pet project of his to make his mark when he took over to "modernize" Jeep. The XJ was safe then and it would still meet standards now. It was killed because it was an aged aesthetic design. That's it. There's plenty of foreign vehicles that would fall short of the XJ's crash standards. The Liberty is a good ride, but it strides the line between a crossover and 4x4 SUV, its a compromise on the "intent" of the Cherokee. Its good in its own right, but its not a Cherokee.
  12. Besides the rust, looks like a great truck! Not a 92', ehh, cherish it sir, it ain't bad.
  13. If a masked group of hired thugs rob you at gunpoint and only take your topper, I swear I had nothing to do with it! :D
  14. Nice one dude, I'm betting its the resistor. Nice wheels, Black interiors are best (Once you go black, you never go...nevermind), front bumper has to go, nice topper, that's fairly clean truck!
  15. I hope so, I've been using it!!!
  16. The only reason to use the WJ set up is for the brakes and the cross over steering. You didn't give much info on what you're trying to accomplish, or whether you've used the whole WJ axle or just the knuckles for the steering. I have WJ knuckles with standard XJ/MJ outers and a 5x4.5" pattern on my rig, the driver's side knuckle is an export WJ knuckle which allows for a hybrid type of hi-steering. This is the kit I have: http://www.downeastoffroad.com/HTML/HighSteerInstr.html But you could build your own easily. You don't need the ford stuff. Use XJ/MJ unit bearings with a spacer. Not sure how thick it is, I think 3/16". You might want to call them and ask.....here's a pic from their website:
  17. He's Exxon Valdez Jeep, he's got a build called the "Jumpmanche".
  18. I like em, the front looks like Exxon's bumbers he builds.
  19. That's what I used, just a dab to completely pack the pilot bearing and an extra dab behind the bearing in the flywheel. Remember, the input shaft and flywheel are only spinning at different rates at idle or shifting gears. Essentially whenever you have the clutch engaged. When driving the input shaft matches the clutch rpm (unless your clutch is slipping). High temp grease is fairly sticky and shouldn't fling out. Doesn't need much, if you pack too much in though, it will contribute to clutch slippage when it leaks and is thrown out to the face of the flywheel. There may be stickier lubricants that would be better for the application, but basic wheel bearing grease is what I've always used. Again, it doesn't take much so don't over apply it.
  20. I take it you're trying to mount the Ford 5x4.5" rotors on WJ knuckles to avoid the WJs 5x5" pattern?
  21. Ah, nice rescue sir!
  22. Good work, the floors look pretty good. One of these days I'll have a clean Long Bed MJ.
  23. I think these light bars look cool on MJs and XJs! Edit: BTW, thanks for the kind words Mike...(and keeping up the facade,,,I'm really just an insane Jeep Nut and half Loser)
  24. I got my old trailer back. I'm going to slowly turn it into an expedition rig.
