Alexia's 1987 To 1997 Comanche
Comanche County replied to Alexia's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Nice work! I ran those RE drop brackets for a while on my MJ with 6" springs. I liked them a lot, they rode very smooth on the road and still flexed nicely. -

Picked up a 5.9L from a wrecked 98' 5.9 Limited Grand Cherokee. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. But I can't help but to drool over the idea of it going in the MJ. Also got all the dash components, radio, 5.9 180 watt amp, front and rear leather seats, the leather door panels, and the silver star wheels. -
China will pass us in GDP soon, around 2016. However, keep in mind the ratio of population verse GDP. They almost quadruple our population, yet we still have a higher GDP. They will pass us in Gross Domestic Product but they will never out produce us, unless they're able to crank out a GDP prospective to their population. Which will never happen. http://www.foxbusiness.com/investing/2012/06/13/putting-china-power-in-perspective/ China is full of problems that are counter productive to becoming the worlds leader in commerce and trade and industry. First is their culture, its just not one that rewards or breeds individuals for high achievements. I've never heard of the "Chinese Dream", although I think its slowly changing with their growing middle class, but most of the Chinese are still dirt poor and wondering where they'll get their next meal from. Most of the population lives deep in the third world. Second, without a representative government they'll never be a world leader no matter what their GDP is. They're bed mates with Russia in all global issues, not leaders, just sore jealous losers. Their power hungry evil communist pasts have put them where they are in the world, and they deserve the political purse snatcher status they have. They support evil communist governments, dictators and evil theocracies. They thwart our efforts, militarily and economically whenever they can. Righteousness is not a quality their gov'ts value. So China makes our trinkets, so what? Its all they can do. We have nothing to fear from China, Russia, or anyone else.

True, more true for XJ/MJers though.

Could Use Your Guys Advice
Comanche County replied to Garvin's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Its funny how many times I hear about MJs getting scrapped on here because they're too rusted. They're only 20 years old or so, that's nothing. Check out some of the saves on the old Willys forums, there are guys who'd give their first born to find a WWII jeep even it has 10 times the rust described above. Think long term, in 30 years when our Jeeps are 50 years old, we'll really be scrounging for parts then. I personally can't wait for the year 2051, my CJ3A will be 100 years old then, I'll be 77 putting around in it. But I don't think I'll make it to 2089 when the MJ will turn 100, I'll be 115 yrs old then, but my doctor says as long as I keep doing this :group beer: I just might make it. -
Payment Methods For Mj Swag
Comanche County replied to Comanche County's topic in Forum Issues, Ideas, Testing
Ah okay, I gotcha Pete, didn't know I could do that, forgive my ignorance. -
Just wondering if the new site with all the newer features would support a secure purchasing page that way we could bypass paypal? Then we could consolidate the stickies into a "Comanche General Store" subforum. One click and you're at all the swag. Currently there's three different stickies for magnets, shirts/hoodies and swag. My paypal is empty and I avoid them if possible. Would be nice to donate or purchase something straight off the page with a debit card, instead of transferring funds into paypal. Just a thought because I need a new magnet, I used the old one to cover the 1" hole in the roof the PO put cut. Now its all weathered and I need a new one, and some cards!

Awesome find!!!!

Well its a Chevy but we won't hold that against you as long as it remains subservient to the MJ.

Watch this series of videos, pretty good guide. You're already past much of his work but its worth a look. Lots of good tips.

Just take your time. Sounds like all the right work is done on the engine already. So just slowly piece it back together, you can do it!

New Build For A New Comanche Owner
Comanche County replied to jakepurkey's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Why do you say the engine is shot? Tell us what the symptoms are, we'll guide you through the fix. 4.0s will do 200K without popping the hood, then go farther after that. What's the compression? Is there blow-by (oil on the air filter)? Does it start and run? -
How's the engine coming along?

Took the MJ to a Jeep show, only about 40 Jeeps there. Met some nice people,,,and I had the only MJ there. They didn't have a Dirtiest Jeep award but I would have won it. Pics aren't so good but here they are. and some sticker close ups.... Thanks for tuning in! -

Coming along nice, keep up the great work. :MJ 2: -
Don't get discouraged, took me a couple of tries to get the rear main sealed up. Finally sealed it with a special formula for RTV, its called "Formula P" stands for Plenty. Oil pressure shot back up to normal levels after that too.
