how big of a coil am I going to need
Oizarod115 replied to JeepDew's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you're going to have some HELLA control arm problems, and steering problems, and probably need a slip yoke eliminator too -
just to clarify, the t-case takes any standard automatic transmission fluid, while the diffs (and manual transmissions) take gear oil (80w90 will do)
-
If you can cut careful enough, then yes...otherwise you will have to buy some new perches, but they are not terribly expensinve so either way it is workable  . like 9 bucks at the stealership

Project "Eliminator"
Oizarod115 replied to 89eliminator's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
where do you get the stanley replacement springs? -
the XJ has 35s and 4.88s with an automatic and its real nice but maybe a tad deep. not exactly sure on the mileage but it aint bad... least 15-18 i might go for 4.56 with the auto if you're DEFINITELY never going taller. but i have NO complaints of driving the 35s and 4.88s cause its nice :brows: with stick go 4.88 and don't look back

those are torx bits in your link, you can find torx on the header panel, the hood latch (in the center) seat belt holder bolts (the one on the floor) T45 would be a seat belt one (iirc) inverted torx are also called external torx and are E12 or E34 pr w/e size you happen to have. (i think E12 or E14 are the top two tranny bolts)

Oizarod115 replied to A-man930's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
that jeep is pretty as hell... but we just angle grinder-ed them flush with the bottom of the corner light, then made a jeep-ish-pattern to the flare similar to stock but higher, and used some rubber trim from autoparts store to cover the bare metal edge, just get it nice lookin first and it'll be fine -
electric heater (an idea that needs nurturing)
Oizarod115 replied to Oizarod115's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
could you explain that more hornbrod? you changed your 91 over to a newer style deal? -
we removed the hinges from the doors with torx, with the fenders off makes it alot easier, with fenders on you have to cut the torx bit down in order to fit it and a ratchet on the hinge
-
i just slip it into N to be safe, hitting the clutch works too though
-
yeah, mine's a stick and i put her in nuetral, yank up 4hi at 50mph... its meant to, that way you can pull off the road onto a trail then slow to 2-3mph in N and C#*@ back ot 4lo

electric heater (an idea that needs nurturing)
Oizarod115 replied to Oizarod115's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
all the hoses are cut off round here, hardcore watering ban right now i've flushed it before too never really helped. i'd rather do an E one so its warm before the car is though anyways -
i was wondering about swapping in an electric heater from the JY or some random car just about any electric car heater would be enough Umph to warm up a manche cab right? (plus we're talkin bout GA here, not canada or alaska ;) ) anybody tried this? anyone have ideas of how to make the factory vacuum heater switch into an electronic style switch? or know anything useful that can shed light on the idea? i've never been around an electric one before so I'm not real sure how it all works or if i could connect the stock blower motor to one :dunno: yall think it's worth it? (my heater doesn't work for jack, pretty sure its clogged up and stuff, not interested in fixin it.)

kinda like your version of a buggy... kinda like my vision of KICKASS. i do use my truck for alot of hauling and utility shtuff, but its my only vehicle sounds like you got plenty of haulers (and there's always room for 1 more MJ right? ;) ) can't wait! -
did you swap over the little ballast resistor thats on the fuel pump wire? on the 4.0 it would've been on the drivers side fender area mounted near the vacuum switch for the EGR that thing can crack/break causing the fuel pump to cut out and/or not work somtiems
