  1. if it doesn't then you have problems. ;) its all lubed up and fits right in, that huge nut is what keeps it in place. a trick for the hub is to put anti-seize on the back of it before you install so that it won't get stuck, to remove THWACK! it with a BFH and it should pop right out.
  2. No a nail punch is made of metal. you need something thats softer than the crank, ie wood, plastic, or brass. napa, oreilly's, advance... any of em when buying oil pan gaskets get the one for a 95 cherokee 4.0 (it'll be a one peice gasket that is MUCH easier to deal with and make seal up.)
  3. if its a BA10 you will notice a seam running front to back on the bottom of the case like its two halves put together lengthwise... because it is ;) BA10 will also have 10mm square hole style drain plug located on the butt end of the trans. facing towards the front of the truck AX15 will NOT have this seam and have normal plugs
  4. oh man... that's classic.
  5. we ran a snorkel on the XJ for a long time... all i'm gonna say is this. idled in a water-crossing up to the cowl when the guy infront of us got stuck (cool) crushed the fender in the rollover. (snorkel is 100% fine.) flipped th etruck smashed the windshield, busted the radiator, crushed the fender, mashed up the a-pillar on that side... but the snorkel has only a few scratches. (tough) the head of it got bent a little but that part is cheap to replace or run without even
  6. 200~5200 rpm/225 Ib-ft@4000 rpm 19mpg city in the camaro, 30mpg highway. the comanche is around 4600lbs where the camaro is 3320 or so. I actually get 18mpg min. city, usually around 20mpg. highway I've gotten 26mpg running nothing but 70mph for a tankfull. and the specs still outrate a 4.0 (I believe the HO 4.0 comes close) the supercharged 3800 produces 240 hp at 5200 rpm, and 280 lb.-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm..which is extremely impressive to me, and that's without an intercooler and running merely 13psi of boost.. an eaton M90 supercharger will get it roughly a 33HP increase and 20 lb.-ft torque gain according to some people who've done that. how do you figure a comanche at 4600 lBs?!!? pretty sure thats the GVWR not the curb weight? a SWB 4x4 should be about 3500 (guesstimate)
  7. nah. gonna run ford 8.8 with discs, or get TNT's rear axle and 4.10 the front. longarm babeyyy good... cause the buddy with 33's gets first dibs anyways :brows:
  8. watch closely... that banana is you! ;)
  9. oh yeah, would you like me to find/pull you an XJ 44 or somethin jeepco? theyre not hard to come by in the PAP here. i've seen 2 and only been there maybe 3 times flat rate prices means any axle is 80 bucks no variations. :brows:
  10. i've been tryin to do that for a year and 11 months now... just won't happen! and i've got a buddy with 33's and d35 with a 01 4.0 and he can't blow one up either! :redX: what're we doin wrong?
  11. hey man, the plan for me is to sandblast and engine paint every drivetrain component as it gets replaced.. random fluorescent colors until i have like neon green ax15, pink 242, cat yellow axle, just craziness. i think that would be interesting.
  12. i like my 5 tone red with black cow spots where ive cracked the paint... :chillin:
  13. least its not a camaro :rotfl2: (jp buddy)
  14. should be able to bust it with a 30" breaker bar... i'm scrawny as hell and i popped mine loose, if its still on the truck leave the tire on the ground in park or gear whichever and try to get it loose best way is with an impact... why waste energy? 36mm socket bTW
  15. its easy enough to do... but its a pain in the @$$ when you do it 40 hours a week you don't really feel like fixing your truck when it breaks down all the time or needs a motor or somethin, much rather just buy it in good condition and maintain/swap things as i feel like it
  16. HAAHAA everyone point and laugh.. CW doesn't know how to poostt haahaaa haaahaa  sorry, long day at the shop...
  17. :dunno: i guess thats a northern thing, down here body condition is a second thing you look for after mechanical condition.
  18. but we're not talking about a completely rebuilt truck here, its a stock (quite possibly junk or soon to be junk transmission) with stock 4.0 and 204,000 on the ticker, all the bushings are likely worn out and suspension needs a run through its not worth 2000, jeeps don't hold value like you'd think, its not an fj40 or somethin
  19. lol, thats an every 6 monther, but i'll let it slide, you didnt know.. awesome vid huh? :brows:
  20. paid 1400 for my 89 4x4 same options as him except d35 and a/c that blows hot. body in GREAT shape, bad paint, one dent on roof and no rust
  21. doesn't sound like a master cyl, when mine went out i had clutch one day and nothin the next, no leakin or anything. just barely anything not enough to drive then the next day completely gone.
  22. well thats what they're there for the accidents! so
  23. looks can be deceiving, a lot of 'new' parts go bad 10x faster than the original ones did
  24. it should be fairly pressurized compared to an open system. i think it runs at like 19psi or somethin IIRC
