hey hey hey, ill have YALL know that i call tires, tires. not tars... but i am very guilty of yall. :D :D i would go D44, use a disconnect D30 with one of the posi-loc mechanisms out there, which can save you the chunk of change of buying a selectable front locker. also some toyos came with electric selec lockers in the rear, my buddy has one.

2WD MJ to 4WD Help me pick the trans/case
Oizarod115 replied to hackedmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i think the aw4s all have the same TCU IIRC, except the ones with the power/comfort switch, but that doesnt matter. -
sweet. my MJ probly won't be lifted by january, (or lifted but not trail ready) but itlll be there carrying stuff.
-
if you do make the trip shoot me a PM 2 weeks before I'm sure my brother would LOVE to make a run with you and id just tag along with him. his XJ is nice nowadays 6" (short-arms blegh, thats the next thing to go) 35" BFG m/t, D30-44 superior chomolly axle kits, ARB front detroit rear, 4.88s, AW4 231, (a/c-OBA fills up a 35 from 10-normal in 1min 29 seconds exactly.) 1-ton steering. :D he's real real broke :D the list goes on.
-
i think suggested tire size with the RE kit is 33" with no cutting.

mine leaks everywhere except there haha. it smells as if the fluid is leaking onto the clutch and burning off. and the bottom of the case is disgusting. i can't actually tell if ive got a rear main leak at all
-
my theory on the common blowout of BA10s is fluid loss, i think the split case causes leaks in alot of cases, because my BA10 was PERFECT when i bought the truck, daily drove it/ trips to my brothers 100+ mi with no fluid, and its TERRIBLE now. barely get it into 2nd, hard to get in 1st, grinds into 4th unless i put it up near 3rd then into 4th

2WD MJ to 4WD Help me pick the trans/case
Oizarod115 replied to hackedmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the speedometer will be electric on the new case, and won't work with yours. IIRC. only thing that pops into MY head -
thats how i filled my BA10... its not THAT bad, but you have to take the consoles/shift boots out which is annoying... the actual shifter is only held in by 3 bolts, the boots are much more obnoxious. can you beleive i added nearly 4 quarts to my puke-goat?

nice, my brother and i went with some local buddies back when his XJ was stock (towhooks, chopped fenders, 215 tires stock) and it was pretty fun... rode along on the bigger trails (our buddy balanced his TJ on his front bumpers hoop coming down a ledge, don't you hate shortarms and 35s?) and watched rock garden while the buggies and CJs and YJs went up. here's a pic or two

sweeeeeet 45 minute long. yesssss which trails are you on?

Oizarod115 replied to DansGreyMj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the MJ pack is a 4 leaf i think i read on their site. -
i just ground the end where the ball was.... mine wasnt to tight, but thats a good idea to cut off the end and grind further back, also helps with clearance i bet. but yeah, 3/8" extension works. gotta grind for a while though, grind, check, grind, check

New 2.5 MJ project...Now a 4.0 H.O. project
Oizarod115 replied to CEThomas's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
ohh ok, it sounded like you were talkin bout somewhere else... don't kow where i got that impression  -
we're pretty laid back round these parts on the use of the search button, but it does help alot of the time. cause most of the information can be found alot quicker that way.
-
ive heard say that a rear valve cover leak can drip to the same spot and appear to be a rear main leak? don't know if thats a possibility?

are you talking about tellico, NC? or a different one... just askin. tellico is AMAZING... really good wheeling there. i still need to go in my truck while its stock, theres no way to learn to wheel your truck better than when its stock. -
 :rotfl2: :laughin: :P nice one. thats got to be the best question ever asked. had me going.

Question on my 4x4 upgrade.
Oizarod115 replied to clarkerussell's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the NV3550 is the same length as a BA10... less than an inch off. (i was gonna do the swap) but i know an auto tranny will need a longer front d/s. 242 shouldnt matter for the front d/s and should only change the rear a little bit... both cases are similar in size i beleive. -
anyone ever order these

maybe rustys gives better service to me and my brother cause they know we can drive 100 miles and go kick their asses... but idk. the absolute WORST service we've gotten from them is my brothers lockers/superaxle kits taking 1 1/2 weeks. and delaying the install date 2 days. and it was the right parts the first time. they usually get stuff out to us next day. and for cheap.... but i am NOT A RUSTYS ADVOCATE... ONLY OUT OF HOUSE PRODUCTS. their renix TBS bolts don't fit, the tow hooks bolt hits the alternator and can't be used the right way PITA, and their steering box brace didnt fit right. -
hardly tech.... replacement interior lights?
Oizarod115 replied to BrettM's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
might try those kick lights... pull-a-part here wee come. -

the 35 is bad but its not THAT bad. haha. it can be wheeled, just gotta remember you're not driving around with D60s... but behind a 2.5 automatic driveline... it should take alot to kill it. -

the MJ pack was a 4leaf... that was just a default pic. prolly for a superduty or something. -
