This is what a 350 looks like in a comanche.
Oizarod115 replied to possum's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
whats wrong with the 350 that you're plannin on it not lasting? isnt that alot of work to throw away? badarse jeep btw  -
is that the AX-5 or the BA-10/5? does it happen while idling in nuetral as well?
-
yeah, my SWB has a small tank, but if i run it far enough it fits over 13, i think its actually like 14 or somethign like that. :dunno: (if it really is 13 then i have better mileage than i thought !!) haha

I was hoping to get a JCR stage 3 or 4 bumper with shackles and a 2" reciever. Ill deffinately have somone beef up the area, if i am not able to do it myself (lack of a welder). thanks guys. my brother bought a JCR offroad winch bumper and one side sticks out 1 1/2" further from the body than the other... make sure they get it right.

that dosent sound good. I'm getting worried that this is a major issue. i was just lookin at the rip cause ive never seen that before, i wouldnt worry about it til someone more experienced with this sort of thing pops in. it doenst look to misshapen to me, looks like it might have gotten disfigured a bit but that far forwards is past the axle and the important stuff right? the steering is all mounted to the other side

GOO!@
-
gotcha, and yeah, we milkshaked the diff fluids a few times in the mud/water :ack: (and blew out a pinion seal/bearing cause he was to lazy to change it :dunce: :grrrr: luckily it was the front so he could still drive b*@$£ seized up )
-
what do you need a compressor for? my bro's 90XJ runs a safari snorkel, and nothing is waterproofed, yeah he can't park it underwater but its got him through water a couple inches up the windshielf on more than one occaision, radiator fan was fine too? id get one but i don't like the look of them on manches that much.
-
It's for emissions more than anything else. Gas burns more efficiently at hotter temperatures, and so the faster it gets hot, the better. so you think i should put the old radiator back in and run it at 260 again? :rotf: :brows:
-
yeah, its there for the cold start up stuff, but who cares (especially when you live in GA :brows: )
-
probably some xanax and a pair of depens for the ride home :rotfl2: :driving: hahaha just kiddin man, i do know however that this problem is just gonna get worse whatever it is, unless yuo do somethin about it. and be careful cause even though itll run 70mph with no shaking... if you hit a bad spot in the road you will get DW and it will suck even worse. so be careful around bad spots in the HWY. i can usually make it with no DW if i drive careful but some days its inavoidable.
-
yeah, i was sort of thinking something that can go 50mph and flip through the air. plus 4wheel burnouts are just badass. idk about 200 bucks thought thats a "new" transmission!

Help - Bad Shimmy, Running Warm
Oizarod115 replied to Rundel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
what did yours end up being? just for new things to check on mine  as for the temp, check for cracks in the coolant resovior tank, also check the pressure cap as both are prone to failure, and low pressure will cause "extra"heating, i say extra cuase mine never overheated but did get extrasuperhot (255-260 tops) main thing with the cooling system is to tell us WHEN it overheats... sitting at a stop overheating points to fanclutch highway overheating points to waterpump, or radiator cracked bottles/ caps just overhead period i beleive. (all of this is super easy to replace and alot of its cheap too) EDIT: oh yeah, the thermostats are prone to failure as well, but i can't really tell you how to test that cause I'm not sure myself  -
Got the MJ bumper started..finally hehe

doesnt galvanized steel put out harmful fumes when welded? just don't breath to much. :brows: -
well, problem is, I'm planning on a lift sometime this winter but my wobbles are getting out of control, and its a DD that i can't go without. why would complete new ones be easier? are the bushings themselves hard to change?
-
alright, lemme see if this is right, step by step. 1) jack up front end, front axle on stands. 2) remove bolt 3) sledge hammer out CA 4) sledge hammer CA in 5) repeat 2-4 on other side sound about right? no need to mess around with the coils?
-
what do yall think about these? I'm thinkin about gettin one... 55+mph and jump over anythign!? if my manche can't do it... i want somethin that can http://mivasecure.abac.com/toyhaus/graphics/traxxas/jato/jato_3.wmv pretty decently priced on ebay.
-
or do brett's shifter and be done ;) theres probably a reason though, my brothers XJ works like the manual said.
-
so would supporting the pinion with a jackstand prevent the down/back rotation? and was there any trick you were able to figure out for the pass side? or was it a fresh attempt each time? thanks wanderin' thats a good question too. poly or rubber?
-
can the LCA bushings be replaced without replacing the arms? also, should i replace the ones at the axle as well or just the frame ends? and, does anyone have any tips on removing LCAs before it gets attempted? any dos or don't does? thanks, -nick
