the auto tranny has a longer d/s by about 1 1/2 to 2 inches... i know this because my brothers driveshaft(s) and my d/s are both sitting in the garage... the long one(s) are his. you'd be much better off putting another auto in the truck thats a 4wd auto tranny.

 he barely got anything out of his 4.7l stroker... 229crank hp? OUCH! http://golenengineservice.com/html/jeep_off-road.html granted it comes with a price tag, but golen engines made 230 out of a stock 4.0 -
hey pete, do you have any of the windshield banners left? i put in my new truck box, (brother bought me a 12" bed width one to save bed room, but its WAY taller than others) and it covers my other comancheclub.com decal... thinkin about going straight for the window banner, got any left?

not to jack the thread or anything but. what is a common spot for water to enter on the passenger side front of the cab... it pools up like its running from the pad up by the firewall back inot the floor, so I'm assuming fire-wall or windshield? how can you trace the leak? and seal it?

STROKER CRANK KIT/STROKER LINKS FOR INFO

all you need is a 4.2 liter crankshaft, then the bore you get done on the motor determines the .6-.7 whatever you want... i think .020 is 4.6? .040is 4.7 they CAN be bored out to a 4.9 but its not advised.. thats definately not ALL there is to it though. you need other miscellaneous bearings and stuff from certain other jeeps to make it fit together. -
wont start... got guestions..
Oizarod115 replied to 88swampedmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yeah, top of the bellhousing. be careful not to drop the bolt into the bellhousing if you pull it out for some reason. -
....why is your brothers' nose not crooked yet?

Being an '87 I don't think I can get a factory build sheet that'll have accurate codes, but I'd be willing to bet a latte that my '87 SWB is factory original with the D44. I bought it from a girl whose father was the original purchaser. There is nothing about the truck to suggest that they ever did anything other than drive it, and maybe change the oil once every five years or so. I have to replace the driver's door window mechanism when I get the truck back on the road. Maybe I'll get lucky and find the original build sheet tucked inside the trim panel. ive heard of them beneath the seats as well... ithink (comancherob?)found his there.

they actually moved it!? hm... must have pushed it hard. don't think to much? ive parked mine in 1st on a slope once and it slipped backwards ( i was still in it waiting to see if it held) and it didnt do anything but reverse and 1st are much different... idk

When I did the 99 cherokee engine swap I wanted to keep the Cherokee fuel tank and the stock fuel pump. The cherokee filler neck location isn't the same as the comanche is so I decided to just mount it in the bed and I am building an enclosure over the tank which will house 2 air tanks as well and a storage compartment for tow straps and some tools. The stock filler door on the bed will have air fitting located behind it so I can run so air tools or just air back up after wheelin sounds clean.

can't you prevent hydrolocking it by cutting the motor off before you suck up any water?

32"/33" tires with 3.07s?
Oizarod115 replied to goldtooth's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You can get away with a lot if you're driving an automatic. Pretty much by definition, though, an XJ or an MJ with 3.07s is a 5-speed. Trying to drive a manual tranny with 3.07 gears and huge tires would be excruciating. It would also be an opportunity to buy stock in a company that builds clutches, 'cause you'll be going through a few in rapid succession. well my trucks got a 4.0 with the 3.07s it can still start off in 4th gear if it has to... (lazy one day) mine will be runnin that same combo he mentioned for a little while this summer. -
uh... I'm thinkin go fast.
-
idk if i would want an on road or offroad one man.... to hard to choose 70 on road.. or 45 off?
-
is it on of those FAST ones? or what?
