OH that crap, i hate that stuff... waters down your drink... that stuff usually turns to water in about 2 minutes... hard to keep a coke cold when its 60 in january... (actually refering to the weather yesterday... no lies.) :chillin:
-
hm, i suppose i should just listen to my brother and do it right hte first time. really not looking forward to putsin around with 3.07s and 33s... ill prolly wind up throwin 32s on it so it won't be AS bad. :ack:
-
i like it, but i was expecting a full shortbed, not a bobbed&chopped one. he lives in arizona.. so i hope he's got his cooling stuff sorted out
-
could you not pull those spring type lifters off ollld jeeps? i know other vehichels had them as well, but the hood on my bros 84 grand waggy was HEAVY metal and had two springs that lifted/held it up
-
just leave it, won't the water drain out? :dunno:
-
plus the RE kit flexes like no other, ask pong... and it runs a 4.5 front spring with 1.75 spacers, meaning its more like a 6" kit. that way you can fit 33s without trimming at all.

pretty confused about my gear ratio
Oizarod115 replied to comancheman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
looking for 3.73s, look for tow-package XJs, that was the towpackage ratio -
well, ive got a D44 I'm swapping in, and if you can find me a D44 with better gearing than i have for less than the 80 dollars it cost me ill take it. but its runnin 3.07s, and i don't want to buy new gears, cause then you have to set them up right; i was just askin if i can get old gears, keep the same shims they have (same setup of shims but new shims prolly) and have them work right cause i would rather not drive around on 33's and 3.07s for very long if at all, and when i gear I'm gearing to 4.88s so i don't want to pay for setup twice. so, i guess i could swap in a front axle with lower gears when i do the lift... but ive gotta buy the whole effin axle and then i have to find a place to get rid of this one. but the D44 aint goin anywhere.

Morris Mountain ORV in alabama
Oizarod115 replied to Oizarod115's topic in Adventure Planning / Regional Groups
two more pics i left out... -
HOLY BEJESUS! morrismountainorv.com is the website, and its a cool place man. we drove up about 1hr from where my brother lives, took separate cars (thank god) we got to the first obstacle, "the good, the bad, and the ugly" and its a rock face about 3 stories up at steep angles, on their scale its a 3-4-5 (good/bad/ugly) 3 being medium, 5 being "impossible" and the ugly was pretty sick, so we took the bad up the left side, ive got some picks but they arent good and i didnt get many towards the top cause then i got to drive a little. here's some pics: the pics really only show the bottom of the hill, i shuoldve gotten one from the bottom as he was going up.. (but i was spottin & it was WAY to slick out to be standin behind him) so we made it to the top of the bad, had one more rock to get over, and the friggin radiator BLEW pop, sizzle, whole passenger side ofthe tank cracked ALL THE WAY from the top to the bottom. :headpop: ( walked back to my truck 1/4mi ran to the store, bought a rad. fixed her up and drove er home. best part... they said we could come back free next run since we only got to see one of the main obstacles. all in all pretty good place, but i wouldnt drive to it from ohio or anything like that.

alright, just pondering my sit-chee-ate-chin (aka situation to all yall northerners :brows: sorry, felt like bein redneck for a minute) if i pull JY gears and use the shims of the gears i want, then sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt right? well, supposing I'm one of those unlucky sort. can i then revert to my 3.07s and drive around? or will the not working-ness destroy something important? i have no qualms giving it a shot and shredding a set of gears, so long as i can still throw the old ones in and drive her the next day.
-
Well, then I gues I should be saying sorry? I happen to be one of those "slobs that don't work and live off the rest of you guys" although it's not technically my fault. Not many people know, but I have a genetic disorder known as Cystic Fibrosis that affects my respiritory, digestive and immune systems. My doctor told me when I was 6 that I wouldn't live to be 18 (I'm 25 now). So, I can't work because it would do more damage than anything. BTW, congrats Oiz on officially owning your truck. i think he was more referring to the folks that don't work because they're addicted to marijuana, and other BS like that rather than the folks with legitimate REASONS why they can't work, glad you're still with us! :USAflag:

looks good, manche's look about 100x better with ANY lift on them...
-
hmm... well it hasnt gotten below 2 digits... so i usually don't have to worry about what -44* is period :chillin: i wish it would get cold... i need some ice/snow to play on!
-
ask if the owner doesnt mind and proceed to jab at the floorboards (from underneath if it has carpet) with something hard... checking for rust there is CRUCIAL! holes in the floor SUCK... also check and see if the carpet is wet up in front where your feet would be. TAKE EAGLES ADVICE! oh and check for gas around the fuel injectors... mine started spraying it out all directions a month after i bought it. not cheap to replace.
-
wow! i really like the looks of that house man! congrats... now i see why the rubi is going... I'm just glad it's not the manche! and GA red clay is some stuff man, NOT FUN to get stuck in. trust me. we got my brothers 84 grand waggy framed out in a construction zone (found out the vacuum 4x4 didnt work the hard way  ) and it took a 30ton bulldozer with tracks not tires... to pull it out... and they had to pack in fresh dry dirt for that thing to get footing on!

wont start... got guestions..
Oizarod115 replied to 88swampedmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you mean near the air box? little peice of ceramic about 2" long with a wire at each end? its a resistor for the fuel pump IIRC, and i HAVE heard about it somewhere before that you could tap those two wires together and see if it works. don't TRY THIS AT HOME... at least til someone else can verify this with some certainty. -
it sounds more like the actual lock cylinder or something was acting up to me... usually cold weather starts the battery can't put out enough right? so it wouldnt randomly jump back to full starting potential woould it? sounds like some fishy wiring... or i cuold be totally wrong. (i don't deal with -40 F, much less -40 C!! COLD!)

wiring stuff... REALLY not happy.
Oizarod115 replied to Oizarod115's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ive got factory rears, but i didnt wanna rip apart the trim to get them out... i did on the drivers side, but that's just cause i fubar'd the other side. my speaker wires (factory) were different than that... RR had an all white (hot) wire, and a black w/no stripe (ground) LR had green w/black (hot), and black w/green (ground) at first i had wired RR to the wrong ground, and it was causing all sorts of problems, (was groudned to the lights ground wire which was black w/white stripe in my year) and when i turned the dome on it popped, and the unit was not real happy (didnt turn on, or turned on but didnt play...) put it on the other ground and all is good now, both of them play GREAT! -

part time work takes a while to pay off 1400 bucks haha. your liberty and rubicon payment for ONE month could have paid 85% of my truck off
