Jeep dealership IPL's and parts manuals
Oizarod115 replied to mjeff87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ohhh, gotcha. -
alright, so i have a set of 6x9s in little boxes i was going to wire in place of my rear cab speakers... well, i have no carpet and can see the wires running into the panel, on the passenger side its a small wire loom with 5 wires in it, on the drivers side its MUCH thicker. so i cut the passenger side (assuming theres only 2 wires for the speaker) there's 5... no biggy, 3 of them (?) must go to the dome light (that doesnt work) so it doesnt bother me any to cut that anyways, the dome light doesnt work on that side. snip the wires, get ready to splice the new speaker in on that side... THE @#(*&(^@ radio won't turn on!?! the power was OFF key OUT when i cut the wires, they never crossed with the power on, the fuse is GOOD, checked power at the fuse it's good, power everything else, unit will not even turn on!! also, the left side dome light (the one that works) won't turn on either! so i splice the 5 wires ALL back together and still nothin. (this radio worked perfect 5 minutes before this... WTH is going on?! i can't figure this out! helppp please!

Help...Radiator hose replaced...temp light on
Oizarod115 replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
make sure that lower hose you got had a spring or some type of device to keep the hose from suctioning closed. the OEM ones had springs inside to keep it open... not sure how much of an issue it is, but people have warned me against them collapsing under pressure, so i figured i'd pass it on -
Rubicon Express drop brackets
Oizarod115 replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
we're lucky to drive MJs! the XJ actually needs a LCA brace to run this bracket (which they sell seperately, don't you love that?) but MJs LCAs came braced factory.. so you only have to buy the drop bracket.. what part of the install is a pain? (going to be doing this soon) -

jeep playin, jeep playing, jeep in BIG hole... jeep STILL in big hole... jeep trying harder in big hole... dissappointed driver. haha. nice pics... that hole is HUGE. looks like some pretty sticky stuff. we got my brothers XJ (locked f&r) on 35s stuck in somethin like that the other day, had to winch out. looks like it was fun -
alot of times its just wrong shipments cause they move so many parts, customer service is basically their main problem backed up by little querky mistakes in some of their designs. i would go for adjustable arms anyways, so when you get inchitis you can adjust it a alittle for those coil spacers... :brows:

i do kinda think that is b/s with the whole lengths and stuff, especially when it gets rediculous like 7-8 lengths or ive even seen half track! but some of the episodes are only 1-2 lengths... the cars are SUPPOSED to be matched, they're all supposed to bring 10 second (or w/e the agreement is) but alot of times they b/s and show up faster (or sometimes slower!) i still like seeing 1000hp chevys blow down the track

well i wasnt there persay, but he knows to take the clips off, cause he showed me HOW, but we didnt actually try on mine. paid 15 bucks for a local 4x4 shop to get at em, its usually 10 bucks but apparently mine were STUCK i've got a spare shaft in storage, i might try it on that one.

Help...Radiator hose replaced...temp light on
Oizarod115 replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
... balance? haha. i just pour a little of both and go! I'm suprised your coolant didnt boil all over the place sitting at idle for 5 minutes with the cap off... i know for a FACT that mine will... EVERY time. hahaha, to many times. do the temp sensor suggestion to burp the air... and sometimes it also helps to pull off hoses individually and fill those up, like the upper rad. hose and thermo housing hose. i usually fill those up by themselves. -
yessss.... :jump: :papers: :clapping: :waving: that was alot of emoticons... but its how i feel now. the truck is MINE ALL MINE paid off. MINE.... now the parents just have to find the title and give it to me. GAAAAA ITS MINEEEE!!! YEESSS!!! happy.

how do you get u-joints in/out... especially 17y/o ones?!! we pounded on my brothers for HOURS to get them out... didnt even try putting new ones in!
-
looks like a weird jeep-zuki mixture... not sure if i like that... but it is nice!
-
cool, you still have my address?
-
OUCH! thats got some SERIOUS cancer going on.
-
Oiz.....no man who drives a Jeep, anywhere, is allowed to make a statement like that :chillin: Jeff HAHAHAHAHAHA although, speaking of jeeps they may not work RIGHT, but they will work. my brothers girlfriend isnt a big jeep fan, and we challenged her to a broke down hondas vs broke down jeeps game (on the interstate..) score was something like 15 hondas vs 2 jeeps :brows:

Aftermath of a Dead Alt.
Oizarod115 replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well the renix computer forgets EVERYTHING every time, which is a blessing we have (but also a hex since no-body carries the equipment for it) so every start up is a new thing. but i have full gauges and about twice this year they have not come on (no power in the dash except the radio and lights, and then randomly about 10 minutes later all was back to normal. soo i would give it some time -
Rusty's Off Road lifts (2 1/2 inch)
Oizarod115 replied to mparsons's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the full packs work AWESOME but add-a-leafs are a completely different animal... usually pretty rough ride, but some like that from a truck. and as for install... i think if you managed to convert a 2wd-4wd you can handle it... you'll need to rent a coil spring compressor (aka strut spring compressor) you can get them at any autozone for 40 bucks then return it for your money back as long as its not broken. and you may wanna buy new bolts for the leaf springs, and new u-bolts for the rear axle if it doesnt come iwht them -
from 87-92 the MJ either had np231 or the np242 (selec-trac only with auto tranny)
-
select-trac has 4wheel drive full-time (AWD can be driven on road in any condition) command-track has 4wheel drive part-time offroad or very loose conditions only some select tracs had both fulltime and parttime like the 242... i don't know about the 229 though

i can't WAIT for the new season... what is it? pinks all out? the previews make it look awesome (but don't they always?)
-
i missed the end of that one... i saw the tranny line bust & the almost wreck i missed the trans F-body... sounds BAD! i hate it when they show up and their sh$% only works halfway... like... don't you guys do this kind of stuff for a living? :redX:
-
YEAH! i could never give up my car... i have a hard enough time admitting i lost haha. the guy with the nova almost cried... wait, i think i saw tears. I HATE when they break, nothing broke this time, but the 555 didnt wanna crank once at the line ("just takes alot of juice to start this damn big block, aint nothin wrong") pulled up his pos car and jumped her right off... they let off alot but no sandbaggin. talk about rockets@!!! the camaro popped a 5ft (at least) wheelie off the line, and another into 2nd
