  1. I did this one other time back when I had my Grand Wagoneer. We were going to a concert, waiting in line to get into the parking lot. I spot a primo open spot from the road, so I cut across the grass, over the curb ( Which was much taller than I anticipated) and into the spot! It was awesome! And now that I think of it, I wonder if they were charging for parking???
  2. Crooked Still..... awesome nuevo Blugrass. Haunting really. All their stuff is good, look em up!
  3. Got up to the stop light this evening in the left turn lane. 2 spots ahead of me is a truck, and when the incredibly short left turn light turns green, the truck, bucks and jumps and doesnt go anywhere. This happens for three or four cycles of the light, with traffic backing up the whole time, at which point, I back up a little so I can turn left and jump the concrete curb median, cross the opposite lane of traffic, jump another curb and go across the front lawn of a Blockbuster Video store, then down a curb into the parking lot! I remembered i needed gas anyways, and the station was right there also, so it worked out.
  4. I wondered about this exact thing a while back when I tried to look to see if it would mount up and saw that the damper was in the way. Glad theres a simple solution!
  5. A 2.8 MJ XJ fan has more blades than a 2.5 fan, but I'm not sure if the threads are the same. I have one of each in storage, but I can't get to them at this moment to look at them. Might be an option though.
  6. It comes up as an incomplete recall, so it should still be good. Go get your free O2 sensor! Awesome, mine has been shot for a few months now! Called the Jeep dealership here, they told me since its an old recall that the parts dept does not have the items to complete the recall. SO no free O2 sensor. :( I looked into this. I found the original recall document and part number, had my parts dept look it up. The recall part number supercedes to a new part number and is still available. I think your dealer is giving you the runaround on this. Call up there and ask to speak to the service manager and explain that you have an open recall and that even though it is really old, that you found out there is a part available for it. By law they have to take care of this for you if it is an open recall. here's the recall document. You can print it out and take it with you if you want to. Their parts dept can look up the part number and supercedance just the same as my dealer can. There is no expiration on recalls through Chrysler. Keep trying! http://wagoneers.com/XJ/tech/MISC/MANUALS/88xj/88xj-fsm/recall%20561%204.0l%20eng%20fed%20vehicles%20oxygen%20sensor.pdf

  10. Where in the world do you work that you get to park insde a huge ole building? And good work on the rack!
  11. The Jeep 4.0 was based off of the 2.5 and have a lot in common as far as dimensions are concerned, as well as some parts. My trucks original owner replaced the 2.5 at 140,000 miles because it was leaking oil. The current rebuuilt 2.5 in it had over 210,000 miles on it now and is still running great. Though I did buy a spare to keep around just in case. It does what I need it to do.
  12. Ive always wondered how a roof rack would look going back over the bed a bit and tied into a rollbar.
  13. You go for rake like youre wanting and your caster adjustment in the front end will be gone and youll be prone to death wobble. If you do this at least get the alignment and caster adjustment done professionally.
  14. I used to listen. But it got to the point where every other caller was a Camry owner that was completely clueless and don't want to spend any money getting their junk fixed. Gets old after a while.
  15. I'm a dealer tech. I'm not sure theres anything in your engine bay that would suprise me or that I hadnt seen before. Its all good though. A free set of rotors may come in handy though when your next brake job is due. Just hand them a new set of pads at the same time, and youre all set!
  16. The recalls are still good. If you go, they will do it.
  17. Yeah its the wrong part from them, like was said, its probably for and 84 or 85 XJ 2.5. Take it back and try another one or get your money back and get one somewhere else.
  18. The Chevys run an inverted shackle in the rear where the spring rides above the shackle, as opposed to our trucks which have the shackle above the spring, thats why a shackle that drops a Chevy will lift an MJ. Just FYI. I made a set for mine from stock Chevy shackles and got about 1 1/2 ".... I didnt want to go too tall, just enough to match my 4wd conversion springs up front with an extra spring isolator, for about 1 1/2". Make sure you do an alignment after youre done as your steering toe will be off and your caster will have changed as well. Make sure whoever does your alignment to adjust both of those, if you don't specify, many places will just do the toe only. Good luck.

  20. The A904 is not a bad trans. Its a lighter version of the TF727 from Chrysler. There are a couple of easy upgrades you can do to it just at the valve body. Here is a link to an article that has a lot of good info and in it at the bottom is a link to the fix I mentioned. Does your current 2.5 have an auto already? If so, you can just re use your old flex plate (just FYI, on an auto its not called a flywheel), If it doesnt already have an auto, youll need the correct flexplate, sounds like you might have one for a carburated 2.5 from 84-85. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.
  21. I used to be able to do them like that, but something has changed on my puters and the cut and paste is funky now. Sorry.
  22. Could you re check your VIN for me. It comes up as not found through Chrysler. Theres no reason I shouldnt be able to look up Canadian Vehicle VINs this way as well. Thanks Just looked your VIN over, It appear there are too many numbers at the end. It should only be 6 numbers. I Changed the 1 to an L and have a good Canadian VIN lookup, just want to make sure its yours. let me know.

  24. I'm not sure if anyone has asked, but I persoanlly would like to see what mods were done underneath one of these to make this all work. Including the axles and wheel ends to see how it was all adapted. I too agree you should have a long wheelbase gas tank 23.5 gallon in that thing. The extra gas cans don't hurt though.
